Does Anyone Know If I Can Import Dog Food Online?
Staff'n'Toller replied to a topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Customs have applied new restrictions this year to all dog food entering the country and it's about ingredients. I think your only option is to go for Hills L/d until RC are able to sort out their formula issues. Otherwise you may be able to replicate it with a good cooked food diet, but you're best finding a Veterinarian who specialises in naturopathy. -
I'll wait to hear from Kitteh if it's ok, and then I'll post some more details. I generally just deal in 500gm satchel bags (regular or express) as it's easier when going to PO- you NSW peeps can go in for one larger bag if you decide to do so. So we have 12 people - 1.Kitteh 2.Woofen 3.Henrietta 4.Staff n toller 5.Pretty Miss Emma 6.Fuzzy82 7.Ness 8.B-Q 9.Dxenion 10.Kynan 11.Stonecutter 12.Krustie22 13.Ams Take your name off if you've changed your mind, or add your name on if you're interested.

Purple and red look all the one colour but on closer inspection you'll see that the belly strap is a different shade. -

When they talk online about 3" - they are meaning the width. ;) Check with your RATG group perhaps? Ours seems to have a manufacturer here and they are reasonably priced. -

Kintala Puppy School - Anyone Been There?

I think it may only be bull breeds. -
If they are going regularly to daycare, Sentinel *may* be a waste of money for you, you may be better off just treating with an adulticide.

Just on the Vet stuff, perhaps you could engage them to help desensitise her. Maybe you are already doing this? I would have no hesitisation in trying some valium before the visit, if the Vet was agreeable. By doing a few visits where she hops on the table, gets roast chicken (she will be more likely to be hungry with the valium on board) and a very basic exam, and hops off. So many times I offer this for free within my clinic (not the drugs obviously but the training part) and no-one can ever find the time to come do it, it is SO beneficial to the dog to have some calm foundation to think back on. I also feel, that for all dogs, but in particular the scaredy ones, doing the Crate Games program is the very best way to prepare them for possible hospitalisation in the future - just in case!

Advice Needed? Purebred Male Not Microchipped
Staff'n'Toller replied to jandk2468's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'm pretty sure there was a legislation change only this year with the CCCQ and chipping puppies (happy to be corrected) so I think you should call CCCQ and discuss it as well as cross referencing your breeders prefix and your dog's date of birth with them to be sure. -
Advice Needed? Purebred Male Not Microchipped
Staff'n'Toller replied to jandk2468's topic in General Dog Discussion
I HAVE spoken to the breeder. Besides numerous unanswered phone calls we have now resorted to email which she responds to occasionally. Since the dog was not microchipped, he cannot have been registered, (his entire litter can not have been legally registered since you need EACH pups chip # for this), so technically nobody owns this dog. This is not an issue, as I have stated if you read above posts, about if the micro chipping is going to be done. We are getting it done. I simply wanted some advice as to where we stand, we have not been thru this before. Where we stand if we simply do not agree to pay to have the scoring done. Where we stand if she wants to take legal action? Being that there are two people in this transaction, the breeder must realise that peoples lives cannot be put on hold until they find the time to contact you regarding any issues. So there are actually no canine association papers - have you confirmed this? I know it says QLD in your avatar but that is the default State unless you change it. Requirements for puppy registration in each State varies- you don't need chip numbers to register pups here in Vic if you are a hobby breeder as such. I think if you have a payment receipt and the dog is chipped in your name, and there was never canine assoc registration then the dog is yours. However, you need to seek legal advice on your contract to be sure. -

Not sure what advice you want then. If you have decided that the contract is null and void over a microchip then it sounds like you will desex because you haven't heard (yet) from the breeder. If you want permission to do that you probably won't find it here. There are two people in your business transaction. You bought the dog, you were given a receipt, the dog resides at your house, you will be in more trouble if you don't microchip the dog- do it and be done with it. Apart from the the receipt of sale you are not the registered owner of this dog by the sound of it. Perhaps you should just PHONE your breeder and keep this personal matter off the forum. -

You need to pay her the courtesy of giving her that option then. Understand that it will take time, the papers would need to be changed to main, the hips/elbows will need to be done and then semen collection organised. -

In most cases it is written into the contract who pays for the health testing...so you may need to get some legal advice in the final analysis if things turn nasty. Offer to the breeder that you will have a semen collection done (you will need to contact a reproduction Vet about what needs to be done) and you will transport it to her for her to pay to store it. If she feels that your male is of good type. Then desex him. Otherwise wait to hear what she says about the health testing. Have the dog chipped, it's not expensive and it proves ownership. -
I didn't think it was either. I'm going by myself apparently it's a bit sad at the end! Having worked a little bit with Luke Hura in the past, I like to support his work too.
