  1. Deter the mouthing and be firm, it will pay off, it just takes time. I've had a few staffy's before and my current boy was a real handful. He's 2 years old in Feb 2010. He's an angel now but he was real bitey up to 4, 5 months old. We were real firm with him and also had the advantage of an older dog at home and she's very well trained. She kept him in line as best she could and eventually our hard work payed off. We were concerned about the biting, he especially loved going for ears, which made it hard to give him a cuddle. The flip side is though he still has a fetish for ears but now he loves to show his affection for us by gently pulling on our earlobes and giving a little lick. They are such an affectionate breed.
  2. This is my boy Zac. He loves gardening. He runs and leaps around the yard with palm fronds that he pulls out of the garden. This was him at 15 months old. He jumps around entertaining himself like it's a party for one.
  3. This is my boy Zac. I played around with the contrast and saturation on this pic. The colours are obviously not acurate but I love how intense his eyes came out and I love the way his blue highlights came out on his face. His blue fawn colour can look so different in different types of light. In late afternoon light he gets a real silvery sheen over his coat.
  4. It's not the fault of the little girl or the dog. Neither should have been put in that situation, sadly it's something that could have been avoided. Alot of responses on here are highlighting how irresponsible the owners actions are for letting it happen. I wonder if the dog was actually a kind of bull terrier, that the response would still be focusing on the owners deeds and not the breed....People should educate themselves on animal behavior regardless of the breed
  5. Hi I'm new to the site, I cant believe it took me this long to stumble across it and join. Just wanted to say hello and post some pics of my beautiful staffy boy Zac. He's the friendliest staffy you'll ever meet. He loves other dogs as much as he loves people, he's an absolute character and such a fine example of his breed. He was 18 months old in these pics. He'll be 2 years old in feb 2010.
