  1. Hi Biker Girl, I'm so interested to see this kind of thing in Tassie. Could you please give us some more information. Web site? Location? Time? Cheers *Lisa*
  2. thanks for the advice Becks .. and i'll be sure to pop into the Schnauzer section for a chat :D I just got the mobile groomer to bath him and then i took him to the breeder for a clip !!!! he looked like a totally different dog after woods ... nice salt and pepper colour happening ... sure makes you wish they could look that way all the time :p *LoTTy*
  3. awesome thanks for that info ... i'll check it out ;)
  4. Yeahhh i was hoping this maybe something i could learn to do myself ... but once i started googling and see a step by step grooming for a schnauzer ... i thought "BOY thats alot of work" ... So i'll be now asking about for someone who knows how to clip schnauzers before booking them ... Hopefully that will be a much easier task to do in qld rather then tassie ;) Thanks everyone for their comments its been a great help. *LoTTy*
  5. Ohhh i'll be watching her very very carefully ... trust me i'm pretty over protected for my new little pal
  6. Thanks everyone for their input ... I'll just get him bathed and i'll take him to the breeder for another clip Lucky i asked .. this time tomorrow i could be terribly disappointed *LoTTy*
  7. I think the breeder may just do it for the dogs she breeds ... as the info sheet i got with the puppy said first clip free... I'm just a bit worried as we are in Tasmania and planning on moving back to the mainland next year so thats why i thought its best to just try a mobile groomer ... I'll be sure to ask her all the questions tomorrow and watch her closely if i decide to let her do it .. other wise i mite just get him bathered and go to the breeder :| I kinda just thought groomers would be like hairdressers and have a clue about how to groom breeds the way they are meant to be groomed ... Now i'm working myself up into a nervous state about it :|
  8. Thanks ... I've been getting him use to brushing and combing .. and we used some clippers around him as my fiance just shaves his head I did tell the mobile grooming lady he is a mini schnauzer but i didnt ask her experience ... but i will The breeder offer to give him another clip but i thought i should get a groomer as thats what we'll be using normally so i had the idea the sooner the better kind of thing ... Hopefully tomorrow goes well *ickkkk* *LoTTy*
  9. Hi Everyone ... I'm a bit of a newbie with puppies/dogs .... have only really had parrots :| but anyway I've booked my little mini schnauzer Gizzy in for mobile grooming tomorrow but now i'm wondering if 16 weeks is to young? Also if its not to young any advice on how to ask for him to be clipped/groomed would be great. When we picked him up from the breeders place .. she has just clipped the top of his body and his face ... If 16 weeks is to young then i mite just ask them to give him a nice smelly bath etc .. Thanks *LoTTy*
  10. Hi Everyone, I'm a newbie tho i have been reading the puppy problem section of the forum for a while now leading up to getting my own puppy. This thread got my attention cause i also have a new mini schnauzer puppy at 15 weeks I got him at 8 weeks and i couldnt even think about having him outside alone to sleep at that age :D .... we never had a huge issue with night time potty training .. i think the first 2 nights we took him out once around 2am and then after that he simply just slept all the way through the night .... Throughtout the day potty training was a bit hard .. he would use the puppy loo mats .. but here and there he would accident in the wrong spot ... But i would say for the last 2 weeks he hasnt poo'd inside .. and has only had one or two wee accidents and i've since stopped putting down the puppy loo mats as he has taken a liking to dragging them around and ripping them up :| I think crate training is a great idea ... i simply havent done it because i really dont want to buy a crate right now plus i already have a puppy pen ... it would be great for night time if you dont want your puppy to have free range ... Not that our puppy has free range at night time ... but he does sleep in his own bed .. at the end of our bed .. and he will stay there pretty much most of the night ... until he comes up to us around 6am I hope the person posting for help has got some great ideas from everyones input Cheers *LoTTy*
