some people with large dark coloured dogs dont show in the warmer weather as the dogs dont handle it maybe this is why u havent seen many?? who knows!! they are rarer so i would think there numers in the ring would be low all it would take was 2 breeders to be busy and none would show up LOL

i agree the grooming alone on some of those breeds on acerage will be a challenge!! i think the best starting point is to really think out which breed u want... narrow it down to one - u may find if u contact breeders in all the breeds u named that will put them off.. once u know what breed u want research research research... whoever you end up getting a puppy from will most likely mentor u for some time in the breed and assist u.

people think real poms are tea cup cause they are used to seeing the crosses that are huge as a groomer i have clipped numerous poms and never had they been any smaller then a maltese!! LOL they are all huge and have long legs! so what she may actually be after is a regular sized pom! go through the breeders websites on dol and im sure she will think they are tea cup

Hrmm puppy picking... not an easy task i always go with the breeder - as they have a world of experience - im my case, in some cases it may be there first litter in that cse i would ask if maybe a more knowledgeable and exp person could come and help... stand all the puppies up and puppy puzzle them at 8 weeks.. once u have ur pet home only pups taken out u need to look at wha tu like in ur breed... some may say this pups head is better but this one has an outstanding front and that is lacking in the breed.. etc... all these thinkgs come into acct and then stand back and watch... one will catch ur eye.. i like the naughty ones lol u want a confident puppy but not too over the top... watch them as they grow.. and try not to pick a fav before 8 weeks as there is nothing worse then dissapointment!! having said that some breeders pick at 6 weeks or 7 weeks each is different...

i have a golden and i used the compost bins when she was little but now she is bigger so i got a Vebo pen from vebo.com.au they are great and have the barn door step over bit so widdle ones cant escape!! i have a huge line of them now so the dogs cant escape out the garage - there is no fence or anything so if i open the garage they can just run out.. i used 2 sets and they run all the way across the yard

my dogs were home with me laying around in cool coats on cooling mats and in paddle pools.. i on the other hand ws freaking boiling lol i ended up getting a cool coat for me and freezing it and laying t over my back bahahaa

i would double check in the newf thread but i think liberty make a great one for large breeds and it is quiet low so u dont have to lift or they dont have to jump so less strain on joints and also doesnt put them taller then u once they are up there LOL

My rising star Dallas -Fernfall Can U Keep A Secret (Golden ret) got her first points at lancefield this week! she took out a 14 point BOB and puppy in show at 10 months old!! was so exciting being in the grp line up with all the big kids hehehehe

interesting points made... i know of a pointer bitch in Vic ATM who is a regular winner. Grp line up everyone rolls their eyes and says bet the pointer gets it... but thing is SHE SHOULD she is stunning!!... but unfortunatly many sour people are missing her quality and just being upset they or their friends didnt win... thats showing!! I do think adds should be limited to the dog only. But if we put rules about what people write it will get crazy and way too technical!! Using the example used earlier stating champion bloodlines wiht only one or two CH. in the line... it's still got them in there... so technically they can say that and its not a lie... i dont know if rules would make it better or worse to tell u the truth..
