VAN = Vets All Natural http://www.vetsallnatural.com.au/Completemix.html Basically a vegie/grain/supplement mix that you soak and then mix with meat/RMB's to make a complete meal. So it is instead of pulping ur own veggies?? or another add on??

Rspca Animal Rescue On Tv Now Channel 7
kirst_goldens replied to mish13's topic in General Dog Discussion
just wanted to add that i was talking about the standard poodle that twas on the other night with my boss... he mentioned that when he contacted the RSPCA about a poodle he thought was being mistreated... they sent him pictures of the dog that was on the tv the other night....... his letter was recieved months ago... goes to show how honest and real the tv show is... I'm all for the RSPCA and what they do they doa fantastic job and i cant imagine how man very happy dogs and cats are out there thanks to them... but that was shocking - hearing that either they never looked at the poodle my boss alerted them too... or made up the poodle story on the tv the other night... one way or another something doesnt fit...hrmm And to the staements made about the RSPCA doing a crappy job... they arnt no uncaring... the individulas i have met have all been great. Again as mentioned its not the RSPCA that can end puppy farms so please think more about what you are saying and maybe research the organisation a little and hopefully you can see where we are coming from? at the end of the day the RSPCA did what they could but it is up to the magistrate as for her punishment, so that cant be held against them... and as mentioned the saved so many more then 24 so shouldnt we really be thankful that those ones got wonderful homes with caring people :D -
me thinks its time to shake head in frustration and confusion and walk away lol ;) i give up i was just trying to be involved in discussion sorry

Im a newbie to the specialist ring too and love it!......all breeds is BORING and focuses more on the handles rather than the DOGS!! I have not found it intimidating at all, im mean...how can it be?? until people have actually done a specialist shepherd show their view is irrelevant! opinions are irrelevant at all, all opinions are good in a discussion Im guessing you meant "arnt"? well i think they are when there are people with no experience or knowledge in the subject speaking against it, how is that a good 'dicussion'?....A discussion is only good when there are people with experience in the subject! ...so far ALL people on here who compete in the specialist ring do not see double handling as a disadvantage. Sorry i did mean arnt** typo u can have knowledge about double handling without doing it... and even so... discussions like this can also be a learning point for some.. so them getting involved can teach them alot about the subject, is it wrong to want to learn about it from talking?? how did this turn out to be so nasty?? i made a comment and u have apparently taken it too seriously... after all this is just a conversation... relax??

I have not found it intimidating at all, im mean...how can it be?? until people have actually done a specialist shepherd show their view is irrelevant! I explained how it is intimidating in my post.. and i dont think others (who have not done spec show) opinions are irrelevant at all, all opinions are good in a discussion I just found it, im the same age as you, its just me and my partner too but we JOINED THE CLUB and got to know people, you know, took some initiative. I have never shown in GSD spec - thought u were thinking i had so thought i should clarafy, i am just saying that people can get intimidated and if u dont then thats awesome! u must have alot of self confidence that some others do not. i can appriciate that many enjoy this type of showing and i can see why, but i dont, its not really my thing and thats my opinion... we have also tried to make friends but am finding that many arnt interested in helping or even general conversation unless u are interested in showing their dogs or buying a puppy... this is a discussion on a threat on a friendly site after all... so i am still trying to make friends and what not... though comments like urs are a little discouraging - and more then unnecessany, there are many ways of saying this without being rude

Purebred Vs Designer Mutts Channel 9 Morning Show
kirst_goldens replied to Shmurps's topic in In The News
Working in a boarding kennel... all i see is DD and they are so far from ok... i think at a rough idea... about 2 in ten are anygood? the others all have unstable temperament - many fearful as owners are not taught about correct socialising with humans and other animals, they all have different coat types (one pair in particular comes to mind and they are said by the owners to be from the same parentage... one has an irish wolf hound type coat with poodle curls and is labrador height and poodle build, the other is about cocker height has poodle muzzle, with long straight bright orange coat and a super long tail...) there is no way to come anywhere close to getting a standard from these dogs... i know there is a few breeders moving to get the lab X poodle registered as a purebreed... but how when these are the outcomes?? I have NEVER met a poodle cross which looks or behaves anything like another one... EVER i would rather a pound dog over any of these mixes... and if u really want a poodle X then get it from a shelter! there are PLENTY there, its not rocket science -
DAMN lol ill have to use old numbers and grab a trolly and a dog hahaha oh well its cheaper on entry this yr then last so thats a bonus! anyone on here at a breed stall?? ill come say hi!
-
There really is no need to mock someone's opinion by laughing at them. I have seen many GSD Specialties and they are very loud and very intimidating to a newbie. and thanks for the sticking up... im only new... :D and IMO it is imtimidating maybe not to yourself and others with yrs of experience and helpers... when me and my friend are showing it is just her and me... and we r both under the age of 23, with no breeders help... we know nobody there
-
im a newbie... hence intimidation...
-
You are quite right nobody is stopping anyone else entering but i can see Angelsuns side of things as well... and anyone else might be put off or annoyed by double handling at this level -so they dont enter... i feel it may be a little unfair that some feel they cant enter (you are very welcoming, but some might need more then a shove to get them in that ring) It would be very intimidating to someone like me.

'building Better Dogs' Seminar 11 Feb 2010
kirst_goldens replied to mlc's topic in General Dog Discussion
Any further explanations about socialisation apart from daily handling by humans? Socialisation also includes the environmental sights & sounds where humans actually live. Any movement out of that backyard into, at least, sections of the house? With even wider range for the adult dogs? Best account of socialisation I've heard was given by the DogsVic rottweiler breeder on Radio National. Exactly my point... handling by humans in the means of a quick cuddle every day is no where near sufficient! -
'building Better Dogs' Seminar 11 Feb 2010
kirst_goldens replied to mlc's topic in General Dog Discussion
Are these pups which are being handled daily outside all the time or living in with a family learning all about family life? or are they outside in the backyard in a group?? If its ouside then i really dislike the idea alot... i am a strong believer that pups should grow up in the household, if you go out then ofcourse runs or something similar would be suitable - temporary... but outside all the time? i dont like that at all! ETA: Nekhbet - you've got it in one, i am at a loss as to what these people seem to think they can create?? and who would want it? it would be boring with no personality... and lets be honest the best bonding time is training time :D If your dog is perfect and needs no work... whats the point?
