Drop the pal asap that is like feeding ur puppy mcdonald's everyday - u wouldnt eat like that so ur puppy shouldn't - its easy and cheap but its really not good for it at all and as mentioned above she is a large breed so her diet at this age is soo super important, it would be better to feed her a premium dry alone then the pal tinned IMO - until u get the freezer that is Necks will be gone in about a second flat lol -
in future try to keep some quick stop or somthing similar in the house, but anything like the corn startch or flour is good anything that thickens the blood to help clotting

We have NEVER turned aw y a dog to date! i am so proud of that fact we have been very lucky - there was one... but we managed to work with him and now he is an angel and i ask paw? and he hands it to me... this same dog took 3 of us to pin down just to trim his feet... he is the size of a shih tzu... I would only turn the dog away or refuse if the dog was clearly making itself unwell - if the dog is making itself sick then i would say noway it better for the dog to be sedated, otherwise i take my time i have been known to spend a few minutes one the dog and then putnit away and come back later took all day in lilttle bits and pieces but her it worked and the owner was rapped Cat muzzels or an elizabethian collar for dogs with a lack of face hehe works a treat once u learn to work aroung the implament hahaha +1!!!! i believe that that a dog should enjoy being groomed and feel like it is being spoilt rotten with soo much cuddles and hugs from all the people at the groomers salon it shouldnt be a horrible experience that the dogs hates, it just makes life harder for u and the dog and nobody wants that. Patience is the key for grooming - i never used to have it until i started working with dogs now i can be known to be a saint hahaha And most of all try to remember that it isnt the dogs fault that it hates being groomed... its the owners or a past groomer, or dodgy breeder...etc etc Dogs can always improve

Dog Making Choking Noises
kirst_goldens replied to chuckandsteve's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Kennel cough is usually more of a gagging sound and is much like the common cold so the antibiotics are to lessen the symptoms not to cure the illness. There is nothing to cure it other then time and as u said rest, i have seen dogs with kennel cough for about a month though it was very mildly, we give a childs dose of benadryl and sometimes natural remedies, some say manuka honey works also. But IMO this is the reverse sneezing kennel cough is usually very apparent and not so far in between episodes like this has been described -

I think DOgs in motion is the best one out of the 2 above. They helped rehabilitate my aunties border collie after a stroke like attack left him a quadreplegic - now he can walk again... not very well but hey he is moving and gets better everyday. They are great there and very helpful -
Tasman Meats in Enterprise Avenue in BERWICK... VICTORIA cheap meat and they will gladly mince stuff up for u on request
