  9. so glad there are still some good people out there hahahaha hope ur both well again!! funny i was doing the grocery shopping and i was running down the list thinking i must be crazy... 3/4 of the list was for the dog haha electrolyte replacer, containers to make frozen treats for the dog etc... then i thought hrmm maybe whilst im here i should get some stuff to keep me cool at the shows not just the dog haha we often spend all our time making sure the dogs are well watered and cooled and forget about ourselves!!
  10. im with showdog i have seen people use runners as well so i think they are flexible but i would find out before u get there so u have a back up handler! i personally dont see how it affects the showing of the dog at all... i think its fair if the steward lifts the dog, if another handler does it i can see it may cause issues with people saying they wanted to get their face in do the judge knew it was one of theirs or some rubbish... but if the steward does it i really dont see how it affects anything the judge can see the kid isnt strong enough to lift the dog, good luck and let us know if they allow it!
  11. well done Marina is that ur liver boy?? he is a cutie pie :)
  12. contact the goldie club in QLD they have a list of motels and camping places, we had our national there last yr :) good luck! i stayed at camp tailwaggers which was 30-45 mins away from the grounds but its cheap as and u can sleep heaps of people in a room and there is a yard attached to the house so the dogs can have a safe place to go off lead :)
  13. my Golden Fernfall Can U Keep A Secret - Dallas was Puppy In Group today :) she is on a roll :D
  14. woo hoo my rising star goldie was puppy in grp!!
  15. geeze that leeburg guy is hard on the people seeking his advice!!!! i also dont agree with alot of what he says... im all for using runs and crates etc.. but it is unrealistic for pet people who wish to have 2 dogs to not let them play lol he thinks they should be kept seperate and not be left unsupervised.. doesnt sound like much fun to me...! i know many people who have strong leadership with their dogs nad they have 6 or so together in the yrd all day unsupervised and never a drama...
  16. i think the collars work gret but i wouldnt leave one on all day thats too much i would maybe put one on and drive around to ur nice neighbours house and watch and listen over the fence.. i wouldnt leave it one fore more then 20 minutes at that age... and just see how it goes, we have just trid one on our brittany and he screamed and ran into the house and hid in the corner for an hr... he is 7 yrs old.. imagine the fear issues this could bring on in such a young dog...
  17. thought i would weigh in!! i have read the whole thread and thought i would add some pics of my girl Dallas - she is registered goldie who i show... she is on the smaller side though still well within the standard... 5 week old babies with their mummy- their heads are vastly different to ur lil mans.. eyes are deep set and plenty of muzzle my girl at 12 weeks old at her first show
  18. it was disgusting last time i was there i felt for the exhibitors in that area..
