  14. hahha yay huga cute baby!! I just got a 50mm so will entre this thread shortly... unfortunatly allthe pics i have so far are of client dogs so need permission to post on here but once i have it i shall cause i need help lol I tried using it a few different ways... aperature priority setting most of the time and opened it all the way up to try to get a blurry backdrop and on some it worked but man it made it hard to get the face nice an clear on the greyhound and the irish wolfy!! even the border i was struggling... very clear noses bahahah
  15. my bosses leonberger is often confused with a germ shep crossed with a mally.... she has a fluffy coat and is black and tan what else could she be bahaha Not sure if Smoothiegirl already posted but she once told me her collie smooth was called a greyhound cross... some people really have no idea!! ETA: we have a lagotto who comes intot he kennels and his vacc cert came to us saying he was a labradoodle!! i told the owner and she was horrified!!! vet was more then a little embarrased
  16. Diarreah does happen - at the kennels when we see dia we alwasy prepare for cough but cough isnt a normal coughing sound it sound like gagging kind of... they cough a few times then gag USUALLY not always Bed rest is the best cure - manuka hu=oney we tried but not much luck but its hard to tell really all dogs are different :S
  17. Huga- soo cute i love the name as well frenchies need a good strong name like that... i know one called dozer bahaha he is like a bulldozer for those who dont know frenchies bahahahaha
  18. Vic show classes are done at KCC on a thursday night about 7:30 i think it starts and about 15 bucks?? lovely lady as well, knows her stuff! ETA: there are private trainers as well like Ashley Reid and the likes but i dont know details of them :S
  19. CONGRATS Pip!! So excited to see u all and some new vallies to meet!! Loads of new people and doggies so should be a good day out! Thread has been slower then usual stil getting into the swing of it again it would seem!
  20. ROFLMAO!!! This thread has given my the laugh of a lifetime!! thanks guys! PS i am in LOVE with Zero!!!
  21. could be what u feed as well some cheaper foods can casue dogs to stink we have 2 bassets that come to the kennels and they used to be fed pal... u could bath then and by the time they were dryed they stank! when we told the guy why he laughed at the easy fix LOL I dont like the idea of regularly expressing glads if not 100% nacessary... the more u do it the more they need doing.. I understand that some dogs need them done due to health issues, but as a groomer i am often talking people out of it... they come in with pups and ask do i do them with every groom or every 2nd? they are shocked when i say never.. LOL, i say i dont do glands as i believe a vet should do them to ensure they are done right and only when necessary!!
  22. if u pm SBT... Cant remeber the rest of the name hopefully they will chime in... they should have some great raw feeding tips if u wanna go raw but are worried u will miss something get pre package barf patties many brands to choose from, then u just add ur raw meaty bones - i agree necks wont last long with a stafford so wings and frames would be good or turkey parts as well I wouldnt let a pup eat processed foods as in dry or wet but thats just me... since i went raw i could never go back
  23. Finn better be hugging u to make it all better!
  24. im a groomer and a grooming teacher and i am fully qualified in both... I think grooming shoudl be an apprenticeship, one day a week or on week a month at tafe and there they should teach them business and admin skills and history and what not about the breeds. we did some work on nutrition and health issues as well so if a dog presents we can say this appears to be X issues u should see a vet or i would monitor it or i would salt bath etc.. basic info on hotspots and common skin complaints, was good a little too in depth maybe? but still i leant alot and now my customers reap the rewards
