I would suggest attempting a friend or partner at the head with treats and some muscle and u at the feet with muscle and be ready... but always be relaxed.. if u go into it tense and fearing the dogs reaction they will pick up on it and freak out... only treat good behaviour - try starting playing with their feet while they are relaxed as well hold them and seperate their toes and talk gently to them - without any nail clippers and reward good behaviour this is somehting that as mentioned should be started from a very young age for best results is the rottie x bitch the one having a litter?? u might find u dont get much help wiht her in the breeders section as she is a cross breed..

as huga pointed out many of the smaller breeds will be desexed before coming home and will therefore be a little older - many breeders also think that their pups are just too tiny to go home at 8 weeks- poms and chis come to mind - they are soo tiny and fragile at 8 weeks that they are safer staying wiht the crew will a few more weeks growth has passed then they are a bit stronger and able to tackle childrena nd other dogs Litter is due next week for me so fingers crossed there is a good bunch of bitches to pick from!!

the urinating sounds like a UTI to me... i would no return to this vet if u were unhappy u are a consumer of their service u need to be happy about the way they treat ur babies, maybe do a search on dol to find if someone knows a good vet near u? what dyzney has said sounds about right to me as well again im not a vet either lol but i would say UTI and worming could be it... make sure there is plenty of water available and monitor the dog for changes especially if the symptoms are worsening

from what u have said KC i would suggest having fencing seperating the front yard and have a lage double gate - this way when tradies are about u can have the dog out the back but whent eh front gates are shut the dogs can look after the front yard as well - and lock the front gates when ur not home... the double gates is best as i think that way u can get cars and whatnot into the back area of the property. I liek the idea of bull mastiffs, they are so so sooky and are great with other dogs and children but have the appearance and bark that u are after. But as mentioned to death lol make sure ur boundry fencing where u do not want the dog to go is very very secure... i can see a bull breed being shot VERY fast if seen near others livestock!

i like nutro also... but i feed the dog all raw now.. i would reccomend u give it a go if not feed less dry and lots of raw meaty bones Like grp 5 said many have different opinions on what to feed so i guess its take in all the advise and then work out what is working best for ur babies
