sometimes pulling the treat away from the dog can make them lunge towards u for the treat so u need to be careful to teach him that as children often draw their hards back when treating dogs as a fear reaction...

SG- yeh i will do obedience with her i want to trial her.. just need to find the time i have 2 jobs which are both animal jobs menaing i dont get many weekends off and when i do ill be showing.. so maybe ill wait till she is out of coat then pull her to do some work... Enzo is a stunner!!!

Dallas came home at 6pm tonight!! She sooked for about 2 mins then fast asleep all the way home in her crate! im soo proud of her! She has slept ALOT since we got home, she has met my old dog (16yrs) Beau and they love eachother they have had a few play sessions - this wont last long as she will get bigger and rougher and he will crack it lol but i have a pen set up so i can seperate them when this happens... She is dreaming of her mummy now sucking in her sleep on the bed next to me She got a yellow lion teddy from her preeder and she LOVES it! and like a true retriever she carries EVERYTHING around in her mouth hahaha Ill post pics when i take some on the other camera so far only have them on the iphone

im tipping ur pup is small if so u should look at the bunnings pens - they are a compost bin but look just like a puppy pena nd they are only 24 bucks for 4 panels so u can make it as big as u want! i used cable ties to make it cause the things they come with drove me up the wall hahhaa and then where u want a gate use something like a carrabeena or a dog lead clip search the forums for bunnings crate/pen and u should get heaps of info on them

i work in a kennels and i would suggest u comlain.. u will get nothing out of it but maybe they will pay closer attention to the dogs in future?? ur pup might have inflicted these injuries on itself or the other dogs may have done it but thats beside the point... we make customers WELL aware that injuries and ilness can occur and sometimes there is little staff can do, however i find it unacceptable that they didnt know about it... meaning it was never treated not even disinfected meaning the wounds could have potentially gotten VERY infected... complain for sure!!

i love both of her names. you picked well Thanks i copped alot of crap for the pet name!! such as "hahah debbie does dallas" and "really? for a girl?" LOL the breeder gave this name, i was allowed to pick my own but i couldnt make it fit and still look good and we both liked this name from day one

i agree with above... be strong puppy will eat eventually it is very important to NOT offer her different meals when she wont eat as u are going to creat a PITA fussy eater!! Put her food down and give her the command after 10-15 mins take it away... only treat when training her.. eventually she will realise not eating doesnt mean she gets someting yummier but means that she will go hungry... sounds harsh but its really not she is just testing the waters

LOL im sure the dogs would LOVE it! but they would love pal as well! we had some at work and the dogs went nuts for it but not something i would fed my kids

check out the crate training thread in the puppy problems section lots of good tips in there also i agree pup and be outside i would suggest getting a big pen and set it up half on the grass half on concrete or pavers with a bed and lots of toys and treat balls and kong those sorts of things that way the dogs can talk to eachother but there is no way anything bad can happen i dont think puppy needs to be locked way... vets say dont let puppies breath without being fully vaccinated but dogs are put to sleep everyday from behavioural issues rather then parvo!! Be sensible with the places u take puppy - not to dog parks where the vacc status are unknown for example... but puppy preschools ask for proff of vacc so u should enroll in one with ur baby ;)
