  1. Thanks everyone for comments, she is finally much better now and fever is gone. What I know is I will never use Bayer products again and have to do more research before using a products on our little dogs regardless of how good the marketing of a company is or their advertisements looks.
  2. ok this is what happened: first it started with irritation so that she has to scratch her back all the time (until now after two days), then she stopped walking and she just sits on her bed or wherever I put her on for long time. then the fever started (few hours ago) and she is breathing very fast so I'm using wet towel to keep her temperature down. I took her to the vet this morning and he just did an injection for his back irritation and also to make her calm. He said just keep an eye on her and try to control her temperature (39.6) and if fever doesn't go away in the next 24 hours then bring her back. He said her body is trying to demount the poison and fever is the reaction. now she also looks so nervous and scared and bite her tail or scratch her back once a while. She has never used Advantix before but had no problem with Advocate in past, the reason I used Advantix was the area we just moved to and I heard tick is an common issue here for dogs. I bought Advantix (4-10 KG) from Petbarn and she is 5 KG. We have two toy poodles and Bobby (our other dog) had no problem with Advantix. She is not on any other medicine and they had their annual C5 vaccination in July 2011. What made me pissed off is why there nothing in packaging regarding possible side effects of this flea/tick treatment. Then I can make decision to use it for my beloved dogs or not plus there is nothing to say what you should do if this happens and so on.
  3. 2 days ago I used Advantix for the first time on our beautiful toy poodle and it made our life a misery! She is not the same any more and the feeling of guilt is killing me now! Why a company should not put anything on the packaging about possible side effects of this product: neurologic side effects!!! I really cannot understand this, how irresponsible a company can be! What is interesting is when I called them (BAYER) yesterday the lady was absolutely aware of this terrible reaction and she said you should give her a bath in less than 24 hours and use Vitamin E on her back and keep it cool! How on earth they can sell a product in Australia while it might make a dog badly sick or kill it, is extremely toxic to cats and also aquatic life?! What can I do now?
  4. Hi, We have to leave our dogs for few days in the following weeks and I'm looking for a good dog boarding kennel in Sydney, actually we live in inner west and I have never used such service before for them. Yesterday I had this chance to visit one of them and I didn't like it at all. So I'm just wondering if anyone knows a good and safe one for 2 toy poodles (male and female, fully vaccinated, 2 years old, male is desexed)? As it might be very important for many of you guys, I'm not looking for somewhere which is 1m x 1m and dogs even can not see outside. What I saw yesterday was a bit scary to me so I'm a bit cautious now to find a proper one for dogs not chickens. Thank a lot Sam
  5. Thank you very much for the replies. It seems that it was just an ear infection/issue because now he is fine after I cleaned his ears last night with those ear cleaner drops. BUT what is interesting to me is treatment route which was suggested by Mrs. Vet, costing $2800, she even didn't check my dog ears so what I can say! She could simply see we are panic so ... Anyway, world is full of different people, what we can do. Now what I should do about the fleas? Today we vacumed all around the house, beds, floors, eveywhere. Plus I sprayed outdoor (our small backyard) and indoor using Rudducks FLEA-DI. And last night, I put Advocate on back of his neck (I usually do it once a month). So what else I need to do? does this Rudducks FLEA-DI work? Thanks for any idea, Sam
  6. Hi, Our toy poodle, Bobby shaked (one year old, white, desexed) his head for few times yesterday morning and we thought this is his new game and should be alright. But last night we saw this is happening continiously and he didn't look fine so we took him to vet immediately and she said MAYBE this is a neurological disease names GME or something like that. She said he probably will need some tests (about 10 and cost 2800) to let us know what is the problem exactly. Unfortunately, this also happend tonight just few seconds. I thought maybe he has got ear infection so I used one of those ear cleaning drops (aristopet ear cleaner). Now before we take him to his own vet I'm just wondering if anyone had similar case? Actually my wife loves him so much so I hope this is not a serious problem. By the way, we just found 3 fleas in his coat althogh we use both FrontLine and Advocate once a month so I sprayed the backyard and where he sleeps today. I don't know if this can cause any allergies to cause such problem? I mean fleas. Any information is really appreciated.
