Fordogs has German Shepherds. WOW! 654gms!!! biggest pup in my litter was 270gms
-
Got it right Risyntira but spelling :p ;) its lozenge. Macerated foetus sterile necrosis and dissolution of the fetus. May be ejected in this form or go on to mummification. I blame my spelling error on lack of sleep ;)
-
A Lozenage is a dot (or a shape of a heart in Bilbo Baggins case :D ) in the middle of the head. In my litter I have two pups with a lozenage but I am sure mine will disappear with age.

After 8 1/2 hours after the last puppy arrived, Maggie started having contrations again. Took her to the vet for an oxytocin and calcium, he said he could feel one in the birth cannal and maybe two more. Maggie had a black and white male, then a blue and white female. They didn't make it. :'( She seems fairly content now. but will wait for the other one to arrive, if there are any more in there.

Maggie's puppies are here. a couple of days early. She had seven puppies (born 10/12/2010) 3 Blue and white girls, two black and white girls and two black and white boys!

The first pet I had to have euth was my cat. She was 3. She was in a bad way and needed her wings. I sat bawlling in the empty waiting room as the looked at her, then they come out and said, I'm sorry, theres nothing we can do for her" deep down I knew and stayed with her while she had the injection. 3 months later I recieved a letter in the mail from the same vet clinic, You cat is due for her booster.

A Surprise In My Brother's Border Collie Litter! - Updated
Risyntira replied to Ashanali's topic in General Dog Discussion
Mid 2009 I bred my blue/white bitch to a black/white dog and got a red white (who has blue pigment). at birth with his siblings I know a breeder who had bred ber blue bitch to a blue dog, they expected all blue and white, the have one black and white with the rest being blue -
youtube link.I've used this as a guide once, and have passed it onto another breeder.
-
I use a different brand, but the company told me for them to send puppy packs I'd have to spend $350 on food to make it worth the postage...
-
I was in a similar situation as you KR just a couple of weeks ago I had a blue girl and a black girl... I picked the black girl in my litter... why? Better stiffle, better topline everything about her was just so much better.. But saying that, some days the blue girl would stack perfect the next time she would rouch her back and looked like she just didnt want to do it, the black girl is very full of herself and is so outgoing and amazed me everytime I stacked her, she seemed to get better and nicer everytime I would evaluate them! I adored the blue girl, something that I've wanted to breed for a long time, nice lines, good health and temperament with the excitement of colour plus she was the first pup to be born on my birthday :p But, I had a serious think about what I would prefer to breed and hey, there is always next time ;) I can't really see much in regards to the photos as the angle that it was taken and being too dark, is it possible to get some more photos in daylight when your friends come over?

Jules, I wish you luck in which ever path you take. You have a lovely dog coming and from excellent lines, as far as I can see has the potential to have a 'stress-free' whelping, I'm sure your breeder will encourage you and support you. 11 years ago not many vets would assist in helping save a bitch and her puppies, technoligy today is much more advanced and can pick up just about everything. Getting a scan/xray done a couple of weeks before whelping can tell you how many to expect (roughly) and the size of the pups and pelvis of mum. The vet you had all those years ago was probably prepairing you for the worst, no one wants to loss a bitch and / or her puppies, I've lost a couple of puppies (normally only one, but did loss two in my very first litter) Yes, it's heartbreaking (especially when the stud dog owner tells you to 'get over it'!) but look at those who have lost the mum and all their babies, they are still breeding and still proud, it takes time, but they soon have another litter and come onto DOL to boast about the new additions. There is a control freak in everyone, and it's normal for every breeder to want everything to go smoothly and free from problems.

I'm so sorry MM for your loss. She was such a tiny little thing but just so adorable, stunning little Lab baby. ;) RIP Bambi

I come in to see how MM is going? I saw your darling daughter at the vet clinic this morning, I hope everything is ok and the baby is fine.

Four week old Border Collie puppies enjoy christmas :D -
I bet you wouldn't like it either if someone told you when it was the right time to wean your puppies, Benshiva. Your puppies are there with you, you know their weights, and what they are eating and their habits, I guess people like Aziah like to think they are better than everyone else. I did NOT say I knew everything, I simply said, I know when its the best time to wean my puppies nor did I ask for her advice.
-
Your message on the 2nd Dec I don't need your advice, in 5 years I've had 6 litters from three different bitches, I think I have a 'basic' idea on when to start weaning I guess you'll just need to think about how you word things or mind your own business, and I guess everyone has to be careful on which photos the select to post on a forum as their puppies might look to skinny or hungry.
-
If you read my post, it did say that the pups where messy due to being feed, two of my puppies are VERY small because the big ones puhed them away from mum, I have been supplementing them from two days old. The other four are all going well and have good weigh gain.
-
some people are too nosey and send PMs about how the puppies looked
-
Ok, Three week old photos from me :D excuse the messy faces, they've just had a meal PHOTOS REMOVED AS SOME PEOPLE WERE OFFENDED BY MY PUPPY PICS :nahnah:
-
I take individual photos after a drink at the milk bar, they tend to be fat and happy, so stay a little longer... although they tend to look a little messy

Congrats to the new babies! Sorry to hear you lost your little girl AdoubleJ. Here are my puppies today at 2 weeks old Blue boy Black girl black boy blue girl black girl black boy
