Thanks guys. The scorer sent me an email yesterday afternoon, although I don't think his explaination is good enough I called the vet and read the email to them and they requested me to forward it onto them. Within that email I attached the poorly positioned scanned xrays, the score sheet along with the website link Allerzeit, mentioned! We made an appointment to rexray for Thursday at no cost. ;) I really hope they get it right this time.

I believe that this might happen eventual, but I do believe that the vet should allow me to have a second xray, after all, he is the one who didn't position the dog correctly.

The email I have just recieved from the scorer doesnt sound promising!

Thanks guys. Your stories are very interesting, and thank everyone who also PMed me. Its very suprising and good to know I'm not the only one

Better or worse, Showdog?
-
Yes. she had a GA.
-
Thats where I sent them, Shortstep. He's going to get back to me with what his recommendations are, either leave it or re-xray for free from the same vet. I can't get another xray until the vet gets his permission. ETA: Norberg Angle and Subluxation on the right is double the left. Canial acetubular edge is the same score.
-
shortstep, I'd rather not publish the results at the moment.

Thanks Allerzeit, I would prefer not to say at this point what the scores are for this xray. To me, both sides are CRAP!!! I have looked at that website and even emailed Ed and he also told me to print his article and give it to my vet!

Here are the scanned xrays...

Up until recently, I've been very happy with my dogs hip and elbow xrays, in fact, I've never given it a second though... I've had three girls done over the years with good scores. Now in February, I thought I would use a local vet for my girl who suffers car sickness and to save on travel time and also petrol costs. When I recieved the scores two weeks ago, I was very disappointed and had to decided wether she should be rehomed or could be bred to a lower scored dog.... UNTIL I picked up her xrays from the vet clinic.... Many searches on the internet and talking to several breeders I found that they are poorly positioned and they should never have been scored, not to mention a number of people saying I should have walked out and not paid a cent! I'm in the process of waiting to see if the scorer will give the go ahead for an second xray to correct the position. Has anyone else had a xray which they have doubted? and what was the outcome?
-
Just a quick word of advice.... Make sure you vet knows how to take xrays
-
Roger doesn't have any forms like Wyburn has, Wynnlake. So I guess he will score them for you as he wouldn't know if they were under or not.
-
Just got a call back from Geoff (D Bay vet) and he will do them :D
-
Not looking good I'm affraid. I called DBay vets and they are going to get back to me when Geoff returns from lunch/house call and Burpengary vets arent doing them at all even if I send them away myself
-
Yeah I checked them out as well, they are very close to where I am. :D

Geoff (MM and my regular vet) is around $320 without wyburns reading fee. Calamvale are $270. I've had three Borders go through that vet and have been happy with the positioning and the resulting scores. Seems ther further you travel the cheaper it gets, but the money you save traveling to get the cheap price you spend in Petrol
-
Thanks MM. Thats great. Even though Calamvale are way cheaper for the xrays, I prefer to do them local for this girl ;)
-
I had those thoughts too, Rebanne. I will let you know what my vet says, but at this stage I am thinking I'm in for a long drive to Calamvale with a dog that suffers car sickness
-
Yep. Suzanne said they wont be doing them. Not sure if that means forever or just while Wyburn is away. She said she'll contact me on Monday. If I want them done I will most likely have to travel to Calamvale

Currently, my vet is not even xraying dogs at all regardless of me sending them off to Lavelle's. I have one here who I really want to get done but no one will do it for me! dancinbcs, I'm not sure but I know Lavelle doesn't have any documents for the vet to fill in and sign all you need is a copy of dogs pedigree and the xrays.
