I'm up to day 237 as I started July 2011 with a facebook group. We started running out of ideas so we went with an alphabet theme for those who are stuck for ideas. Tomorrow is X! I have a couple of ideas but we'll see if they turn out as I need the sun "S" - Shell collecting "T" - Trimmings "U" - Up side down "V" - Vehicle / VT Commodore And Today's photo "W" - Wood

Thanks,Impatiens. I have an idea for X already just have to figure out an 'arty' way of taking it ;) I've decided NOT to upload them onto flikr as I wish to upload them onto "365 project' website. so much better and I am able to upload my previous photos from when I started back in June 2011. So, this one Risyntira 366 project is the one I will use from now on.

I started last year with a Facebook group. As of the 1st Jan 2012 we decided to do the alphabet so 1st=A, 2nd=B, 3rd=C etc.

Its ok Gumnut, Better than whelping a stunning litter and having them die within 9 days I guess.
-
Might have to pull out guys, I HIGHLY doubt Ella is pregnant. With 11 days to go and no weight gain (even with increase meals), no size difference and no movement, I don't even think she has any hidden. Maybe next time.

Thanks guys.

Border Collie puppies maybe due 26th Jan. Not counting on it though or getting my hopes up as her last litter died within 9 days except one male (which I kept) No ultrasound was done as my vet bill was SO high (and I am still paying it off) due to checking for infections etc.

Thought I would join in! Here is one of my pedigree cavies, Dawn And my two babies, Indi (who likes to close her eyes to show a big smile) and Buddy (who is a natural show off!)

I guess in regards to the AVA, Wyburn, Lavelle and Rowlinson (Have had no experience with the others) they all have their own methods of scoring. Something that should not be a 'game' for those breeders who count on these scores for breeding purposes. As I said in my previous posts, I am not here to tell people not to use Lavelle, just telling my story.
-
I'll see if I can do the joint's graph here... From Lavelle 1st report: Norburg Angle: 4:2 Subluxation: 4:2 Cranail acetabular edge: 2:2 2nd report Norburg Angle: 3:1 Subluxation: 4:1 Cranail acetabular edge: 2:2 (the rest of the hip joint scores are 0:0 I haven't yet recieved Rowlinson's report in the mail. only The scores via email which have 3:1 hips and 0:0 score.

Wow, you can see how poorly the positioning is in the first set. Seems to me the positioning is everything with these xrays? Even more important than the person who reads/scores them. How can you expect an accurate reading if the legs and hips are positioned incorrectly for the xray. If the first plate was poorly positioned, it would not account for the second plate still being scored 9:4 from the same person, then from how I read the post, those same plates sent to a different person who scored them 3:1 I was also under the impression for other breeds at least where hip scoring is a requirement, the same plates cannot be scored by two different people and then used in an official capacity. While I know of breeders who have sent the same plates to Wyburn after having the AVA doing them, they still required to get a separate set of plates done for an official score. Something is still suss with the two readings. It makes you question the whole validity of the people doing the scoring. Thats why I got a second opinion. I believe Lavelle didnt want to hear from me that I doubted his scores. I contacted Rowlinson, told him what had happened with Shelby and asked if he would be able to score the second lot of xrays even though they had been scored before. He told me to send them without payment until he saw them. I had someone call me from his office saying that they can be scored and asked me to transfer money and email them the reciept details. Within half hourthe lady looked up Shelby's file with the score. 3:1 is what I got from them. I had some many people on this forum, Facebook and in person tell me what scores they got from Lavelle compaired to the scores they got sending the SAME xray to Rowlinson. Lots of BC's and one Ridgie breeder told me a elbow score from Lavelle was 1:1 but but sending them to Rowlinson got 0:0 The ridgie breeder I spoke to had a 3:3 from Lavelle on hips but with Rowlinson was 1:1

Yes. she was under GA.

Thanks guys! In no way am I trying to bad mouth Dr. Lavelle at all, Just thought I would try to save people the trouble and heart ache I had from the first two scores. It almost came to me rehoming this girl. I'm so glad I waiting ;)

As people may have read early on in this thread I had my dogs xrays done and scored February this year. Here are my first lot of xrays Lavelle scored these 10:6 I wasn't happy with the xray position or the score so requested my vet do a second xray Lavelle scored these 9:4 I was still not happy with these scores, both Shelby's parents have very low scores and I was very disappointed so I sent them to Rawlinson in SA and he have the second lot of xrays a 3:1 I'm over the moon with those and I HIGHLY recommend Rawlinson! I sent the second lot of xrays on Monday and had the results by today (Saturday)

How Many Ml's Is Enough Per Hour For A 3 Day Old Puppy?
Risyntira replied to Risyntira's topic in Breeders Community
Thanks Sway. Wasn't really an emergency but I quickly rang my vet for advice. -
As the title states, how many mL's is enough per hour for a 3 day old Border Collie puppy? Ella had 5 live puppies on Friday all were going well, one died last night (I wont go into details right now, but he had a short unknown "illness" and passed away within two hours of being sick) Two puppies are still sucking from mum and thriving well. Two will no suck from mum or a bottle so I am tube feeding. I've offered those two 2mL of milk and seem to be doing ok and they've all gained weight, I've offered more but she wasn't interested. Should I keep offering more or feeding every half hour? Your help is greatly apprecitate.

I agree with Benshiva. Delete and block. I've only had to do it twice, but I guess I am nasty too because one was my 2nd cousin!

pixie_meg, It was nice meeting you today

New xrays have been done! Edit due to back - to -front xray!

GTG charge $199 for CEA, about 5 years ago I paid $189. Discounts apply for three or more dogs being tested, I think up to 10%, I think they also offer an 'online discount'. The puppy fee's I believe only apply to litters. I'd give them a call to find out. No use emailing them as they take forever to reply

Thanks. I know that they are no where near corect, the scorer said that the pelvis and spine are in position it's only the right leg is slightly out. I'd hate to see what xrays they will reject! If Im not happy with the new xrays on Thursday I will be taking her to Calamvale vets, but that wont happen for another 5 months when I get my other girl done. I wont be going to this vet ever again for hip xrays.
