  1. Adult probably 3-5 yo female good with kids and dogs. in pound needs help prefer to put her with breed rescue if one available.
  2. Hi All, We find ourselves with a small dog which requires a hip replacement and knee surgery. Hoping there are some groups out there who can point us in the right direction for getting someone who offers fair rates. Thank you in anticipation...
  3. On the off topic I can answer that one. No pavers Tuscan topping.
  4. So your dog mouths Something utilising the whos that concept maybe So your dog needs to learn to greet calmly. BTW have found these invaluable to pass on as a resource to our new carers/adopters(especially those taking puppies) along with the other training material we supply. Also it allows us an opening to discuss contacting this or another training resource if they have something they want to work specifically on at a later date :D
  5. Thank you for posting this information I took a quick run to the DRAV site as Im sure my council will be interested when it comes out. "A community fostercare network must have at least five carers and must not rehome any but their own dogs from their premises" Their own homes? President/treasurer/founder? Just a quick definition please...
  6. Ditto on the not receiving a consultation e-mail and some like me have taken a little while to use the new application surely it should be a month for feedback at least, the colors are atrocious that light grey and blue needs to go. I mean really just darken the colour choice a shade or two. I am finding messages in our message store on pet rescue that definately arent coming through to us so Im having to go there and work that as well as my email. Really I can do without extra work. We actually started digging out old email for the ones we got a while back offering other places to list our animals. Im finding the function to add listings not too bad although as previously the drop down box for breeds instead of just typing is pretty but an absolute time waster.
  7. I think it is time to collate and take this to the administrators as I have had a number of clients mention how bad they have found their experience using PR now.The limitations of the search being the major complaint and not the old nugget about breed search but things as simple as size of animal. I can put up with the lack of thought in the design at the back end as this is a common developer mistake but when the supposedly new and wonderous front end is actually putting people off using it then it becomes a big issue for me. Having said I can put up with the back end stuff actually the drop down part for breed(web designer drop down boxes and scrolling = longer time than free form text )maybe I could cope with the extra time if it worked every time but no most of the time I end up with no X and the need to re-edit. As someone in IT this redesign is a case study in not asking the real users what is required.
  8. Hi we have been contacted by a lady in Victoria who has been caught up in the pound rounds scenario. She wishes to save a dog impound 705 and pound rounds have said they can get the dog out on their 16D but she has to have a victorian rescue group support her. Same old scenario I gather. She has come to us as she has adopted/fostered with us previously. She was a very good initial carer and then owner. We have said we will not deal with pound rounds but if we can get a temperament assesment from a rescue group or source we know we will support her in either adopting through the pound or having a rescue group with a 16d at hawkesbury pull for her. I am led to believe there is a short timeframe on the dog but note it is not listed on the Hawkesbury list at the moment so this could be just the usual heartstring urgency stuff. Would be very grateful if a group in NSW could help us out with this one.
  9. I am very concerned by groups moving dogs with problems from foster carers to boarding. Leaving them there without any rehabilitation until an unsuspecting adopter or foster carer comes along. I was picking up some food at one of our local kennels recently and they told me of a dog they had placed in boarding by a "rescue group". Im disappointed to say I was distracted and didnt ask which one now as it seems that PR have a track record for this. The kennel owners had to call the rescue group and ask them to have it removed as it was trying to scale a 6ft fence to get to their dogs. The kennel operator is very competent and I trust his opinion the dog had serious intent to harm their dogs and was the type of dog that could inflict some serious damage. This type of behaviour by groups is very worrisome and a risk to all rescues as we work hard to have people consider rescue dogs for their next family pet.
  10. I did same as above got mine from UK via internet with the dollar so strong worked out very affordable. Sturdy enough for what we require had it for a year with no signs of problems. Just make sure you choose the one reads the chips we have in Australia it easily identifiable most list the chips types they will read.
