If they get their way Staffies, German Shepherds & Cattle dogs would be next on their hit list so well ALL need to work together and bring home our outrage at such stupid "comments" What is it with Victorian RSPCA & Government departments , they really seem to publically have a thing against dogs and their owners at the moment ??? The powers that be in that state, really need to do their sums and see just how much revenue/money the Pet Industry generates Good on you for getting it started.

Deafness is something to check for with whites but it isn't just a white Boxer problem, as other breeds also can be affected. Whites can not be put on the Main registration, but if they are in the litter they have to be put on the Limited register. To reduce the possibility of having whites, then breeding a solid Boxer to a Flashy is the way to go. It is common for a white to be born in most litters, but many breeders used to cull them, but this is now changing and many breeders place them in pet homes, where they have very happy and long lives, just like their coloured litter mates. Not usually, althought if it is hot and they've had a drink they can be wet around the mouth. Some lines also are more "wet" ie more loose skin around the mouth and these tend to be a bit more slobbery (if thats a word lol) but over all, they aren't drooly.

According to my Boxer books, the original Boxers were in fact mainly white with patches of colour. They are just as good as their more coloured litter mates. They aren't albinos as they do have pigmentation, but like any white dog care needs to be taken with regard to sunburn etc. They are not prone to more cancers or health issues than the coloured Boxers and they make just as good a pet. One of my Boxer books had an interesting section on why the white Boxer were not allowed in the accepted colours in the stud book. It stems back to the 2nd World War when they were used by the German army to carry messages along the trenches. Due to the bright colouration they were easily seen by snipers and taken out, thus the messages didn't get through. Then the army said they wanted mainly solid brindle or red as they were camoflaged so the white and white markings even, became undesirable. After the war when dog shows became popular again, white/flashy markings were desired but to get the white they needed to use dogs that carried the white gene. So if you breed flashy to flashy then you will get the white puppies in the litter usually. You see alot more whites for sale now which is great I think. I think putting an animal down because it isn't a desirable colour for the show ring is wrong, but thats just my humble opinion and I couldn't do it, but then I'm a softy My white Boxer puppies were often the ones that found homes before the coloured pups and I know of whites that were still enjoying life at 12 years of age. OMG poor lil doggies may life over the bridge be full of hugs and pats for you both I just hope the authorities catch these poor excuses for human beings before they take the next step and turn their attention to their own kind. How anyone could get pleasure from that cowardly act is totally beyond me. Sometimes I think the Romans had it right with "an eye for an eye" punishment, as being put in jail at tax payers expense is too good for them in my opinion. Condolances to the dog's owners, I can't imagine how they must be feeling.

Either that Mita, or maybe they'll let you have a "Furreal" one ?? Wonder if the Furreal ones will make good drug and bomb detection dogs ?? Maybe the Government will train Goldfish for those jobs as I don't think they pose any risk to humans :D

Have answered it. I don't think they'll appreciate my thoughts I was rather blunt. What are they hoping to achieve ? Victoria - a dog free state ?? :D Meanwhile, every day people are dying in car crashes, or waiting for medical treatment which I think is more deserving of the governments time and money, than doing survey's on whether rangers have the right to seize and destroy any dog. Like I said on the other thread, I'm sure alot of voters love their dogs.

Words can't describe how reading that made me feel. They reckon that people that do things like that to animals will also end up doing it to a human. They don't deserve to waste our oxygen. Like others have said here, lock him up and walk away :D

When I had Bullmastiffs I used to walk the around them streets as we didn't have a doggy park then, and I would get dogs rushing at him from their houses onto the footpaths. I'd tell the owners that my dog wouldn't start the fight, but that he would finish it so they quickly called their dogs back. In the end I didn't take them for the walks as it was just getting too dangerous and this was a small country town, so cities etc would be 100 times worse I'm sure. I see people walking their dogs in the town I work in and they carry golf clubs to beat off aggressive dogs. I've never seen a red Akita, but it did look to have that in it. The red colour looks like the Sheba Inu, but they are much smaller. What ever the breed, it still has no right being off lead in ANY park if the owner has no control over it. I have to say that if it was me in that situation, I would've called either the ranger or the police straight away and have the problem animal/owner delt with then and there. Gotta love the new rules that people have to walk their dogs, but until we can go out and KNOW that our walk will be peaceful, then what benefit is it, especially if it ends with a dog or person seeking medical treatment. The world has truely gone NUTS

Thanks for the link, have ordered a set today for my Frenchy, he has a phobia about his nails lol so maybe this will work and for $29 it's a great price.
