  1. Oh god... We just took a mum from Wagga pound who just gave birth plus the other mum from Griffith and have a few other mums n bubs. Ill ask Simone and our carers if we can possibly fit any in but will be filling up very quickly.
  2. Yes we are having similar problems. I have emailed JB and asked if that is the way it works. If it does then we will all just sign in through me (the main admistrator account).
  3. Sorry didn't see ur location before as on my phone. If you really get stuck and can't find anywhere local, my partner if driving from Syd to Wagga Waga next Sunday. PM me if u need it.
  4. Yes I have a carer going over to Griffith now and not coming back to Wagga till Sunday, she has crates and is willing to transport. I am working till 7pm so will call after that. Thanks
  5. Where about are you located? Some rescues will take rabbits as well as dogs and cats. We take small animals but are in Wagga Wagga.
  6. Any word of when mumma and bubs are coming to Wagga? I may have someone who can pickup this wknd if needed. :)
  7. Thats all I can see too. We have 38 pages (over 700+ animals rehomed). Ive been searching for a while now and cant even found any of our active animals, just pages and pages of rehomed ones lol I got to page 19 and it crashed. I have been emailing JB this morning as I couldnt even log in at first and then our petrescue feed on website wasnt working. Thats all fixed now. I got a quick response. I am going to give it a few hours then try again as I can imagine they are inundated with problems. I am logged a primary account holder, ive added 4/5 committee members on as well but they dont have the access I do...
  8. Yep that would be great. Thanks. I am finishing off my thesis all week so if u cant get a hold of me just text :)
  9. Hi Andrea, I have a carer available for the mum and kittens. Just let me or Simone know when she can come over. Thanks :)
  10. Working on some options for her. Will let u know by tonight.
  11. Hi Guys, Wagga Animal Rescue now has a few authorized microchipper and are offering the service in Wagga to rescues for only $10 an animal. We have run a very successful discount microchipping weekend at petbarn with over 85 animals from the community being microchipped. We also do it to the public at a rate of $15. In total around 150 animals have been done on the last 2 months by myself and another member :) Hopefully Once I finish my honours thesis in October we will travel to other areas for special discounts days as well. Please let me know if you need any animals microchipped as I know some are often in transit in Wagga. **I hope it is ok to post here. All money goes directly to Wagga Animal Rescue Inc who are not for profit, fully insured, etc.
  12. A quiet list would be very helpful. I plan to write one for a few people before I leave Wagga next year. I think they can be very difficult to do though.
  13. Yes, she does. She may also be reading this thread. Yes she probably is now...She has a serious hatred for me, with regular rants on her FB about me.
  14. Hi All, To start with this isn't a name and shame topic!! But I do want to warn anyone involved in cat rescue to beware of a prominent cat hoarder/rescuer in Wagga. Anyone local is aware of her, happy to provide name through PM. She has been going under a few different "rescue" names or calls herself a sanctuary. She is always under investigation with RSPCA, Numerous animals removed and PTS. But for some reason she is still allowed to keep animals regardless of the substantial evidence against her. She usually likes to get pedigrees, young orphaned kittens, pregnant cats, orphaned kittens, etc. She has removed numerous litters from mums to hand feed them herself and they have subsequently died painful deaths. She is currently on numerous Facebook site and as a result can gain access to numerous free animals. I would like to stop her getting any animals in general but we can at least start with pounds and shelters. I will be emailing all soon. She does not have a 16d or charity status but poses as a rescue. In general, everyone needs to be aware of any rescue group or person who is taking animals. I see way to many people thinking purely with their heart to get animals out of pounds but they can end up in far worse places. Please PM if you would like more details. Thanks
  15. Reading Ned's history I would not think that rehoming to a multidog household was likely to be a success, or at least 'success' with the expectation of integrating Ned. On DA: It is not unusual for DA dogs to be inhibited in a Kennel environment. Also I'm not sure what is meant by unprovoked aggression between dogs? If dogs dont like each other or one dog is not comfortable then aggression is exhibited. In any case, poor Ned and for his protracted end. DA was never even proposed until after Ned left by that new member. At the kennels n mixeduppup he did not exhibit it at all. By unprovoked I am referring to random DA, not around food and no particular type of dog.
  16. This will be the final update on Ned. I am sad to report that today Ned was put to sleep Last Wednesday he was adopted to VIC to someone from VIC GS Club. The first day he arrived, he showed some aggression towards her dogs. This continued over the next few days and was often unprovoked. I am unsure of all the situations while at this house as the lady was quite upset that it did not work out. Ned was put on transport back to Wagga and the decision was made by our committee, with input from numerous other experienced people. I do not feel the need to explain our decision but will, given the public nature of Ned's case. We choose this decision based on reports (whether reliable or not) that Ned may have dog aggression, anxiety and fencing jumping. Those issues combined are very serious and we are not comfortable rehoming a dog like this. While in the kennels Ned did not display any problem issues but as many of us know dogs behave differently in each situation. Between W.A.R. and the GS Club we did not have the ability to assess in foster carer homes. We were discussing the potential last night with GS Club of rehoming him to a one dog only household but I honestly could not put Ned through another failed trial and was unsure what true behavioural problems he has. We felt by either putting him in various foster carers or trials we were delaying the inevitable and it would be more stressful for him to be just moved around. Ned was bathed, had a good fed and I took him to the vet myself. He is the first dog in over a year I have cried over. The entire situation has been very upsetting for me. I have put alot of time, energy and money into the situation and feel the final decision is the best for Ned. I wish that his original family had made this decision themselves before he has had to be juggled around numerous homes. I would like to thank everyone for their help, donations or support in this situation. Especially would like to thank Karen and Max at Fernleigh Rd Boarding Kennels who treated Ned like their own whilst there. We were all hopeing for a happy ending for the poor old guy but it was just not possible. Rest in peace now Ned.
  17. Hi Bartok, I recently did the course through AWL and had to chip 15. We found some through our rescue. But otherwise I put some posts on Facebook pet sites in the area and offered a free microchip. We had an arrangement with our vet that they would supervise and we just pay cost of chip. That's rescue rates of course. We had lots of takers when offered free microchipping lol
  18. Hi bb student, Just from feedback from me as this is an area I am very passionate about. I am currently undertaking a 12month B Animal Science Honours project assessing cat euthanasia rates in rural NSW pounds and shelters, looking at how shelter policies affect the rates. -How do u as a design student get assessed through this? Seems way off topic lol -Have you got ethics approval? I had to apply for human ethics for any questioning I did, they are very detailed forms and for any survey type research are necessary. It would have covered the age, marital status questions, etc. -Are you familiar with statistics? How will you be analysing this? -Who is your target audience? R you posting elsewhere? Results may be skewed as results are obtained from dog loving ppl aka DOL. -Have you done any research into this area? I.E. scientific journal articles, there is lots of research out there on this area. Some survey type ones in particular. I did the survey, however, I struggle to see any results coming from it maybe due to you studying something completely different to scientific research. Maybe as a design student your skills could be better utlised creatively through education, posters, movies, adds, etc. We have had several design or arts student undertaken projects for our rescue; animation, documentaries, photography, etc. I dont mean to offend here at all! Just some of my feedback which may be able to help you :)
  19. I am confused too Pepe001 and im sure we will never know his complete history, other than the 11 years of vetwork paperwork I have. As far as I know he was surrendered to Queanbeayan Pound, Mixeduppup adopted him, surrendered him to me and I am rehoming him.
  20. Very sorry for your loss. Since getting Ned into care we have treated him like any other dog rescued from the pound with an unknown history. There were many stories going around from his owners beforehand and we can never really find the truth. Since being in care he has been assessed by 3 experienced people and we have seen no issues whatsoever. One thing that has been obvious is that he is great with every dog he has met. But as Maree has said previously, a dog can behave differently in any different environment. Ned will be leaving today to live with a GS owner who knows all that has been written on here and as much as we know. She has appropraite facilities to seperate Ned for slow introductions and fingers crossed he can live the rest of his life there in peace.
  21. Yes im sure I will get some when he is settled!! :)
  22. Ned leaves tomorrow from Wagga on GTE to VIC. So excited for him! He has be great at the kennels, everyone loves him. He should settle in well in his new home with a very experienced owner. Thankyou to everyone for any donations and concerns. Best result we could have wished for.
  23. Hi :) I have a foster carer who has been looking to adopt a ragdoll kitten for a while now, she is the best home possible for him. Id be more than happy to take him through our rescue (Wagga Animal Rescue) desex and everything and adopt him to her. If this is an option for you let me know. I am actually up in Gold Coast from 10-17th August, travelling back from GC to Wagga Wagga 18th August so could potentially pickup too. Thanks Emma
