That's what I use, seems to work pretty well overall.

8 hours a day in a crate (2 weims in the same crate) but I always come home at lunch time to let them stretch their legs and to break up their day. Whenever I sneak up on them, they're always asleep. They probably see me going, fall asleep listening to ABC radio (or the cricket!) and then hear me arrive and wake up and think, he's back already! I used to worry about leaving them alone all day when I first got one, but he slept all day when I was there anyway!

Some good laughs in this thread. I remember when Jasper the weimaraner (avatar) was much younger, and we were at a large park. Three girls, probably about 10-11, were about 40 meters away having fun, and one of them goes and shows the other two that she can do the splits. Well Jasper decides to run right up behind her, and put his nose right down in there between her legs for a smell. The girl let out an almighty reactionary scream, until she realised it was a dog. Her two friends thought it was the funniest thing they had ever seen. Although I was quite embarrassed, even I couldn't help but laugh.

The breeder of the dog we bought as a puppy loves to get updates. The breeder of the dog we rescued doesn't give a shit about her or us and only cared about if the dog was desexed. She also refused to look up the proper name of the dog.

is the dog on a regular leash the whole time? And the run is on grass the whole time, is that correct?
