  1. No pic redial? I hope you have a camera handy when you see him next,
  2. That looks great Shepherds, im pinching those pics for my next talk on "living with the snake", ok? Snakes are not real smart but they are bloody curious and in their travels will try any gaps or holes that look interesting. Usually though, they are looking for food, on the scent of a rodent or a bird. If a mouse can get in, a snake can and may get in to. I have some more videos from this weeks catches which Ill add to this thread later. Stay safe
  3. The snake at the aifield was a tiger snake like this one That i was called out to this morning at Cape Shank here in Victoria.

  5. They love snakes, snake eggs and pretty much anything else that fits in their mouth. Gotta love goannas. BP, once again you have made me laugh. As I read your tale of mutual fear and terror I could also picture it, very funny I have just come home from rescuing a poor snake from a terrified couple and tonight i amm going to Prahan RSL for the victorian reptile groups (or VHS) AGM.. All welcome btw,,,starts at 7pm
  6. Here is a tigersnake that was caught in a garden the other night, After about an hour of searching, and with the help of a small torch and a maltese terrier i found this snake just before midnight. Released it the next morning.. Some video.
  7. A lot of the time, only a part of the bluetongue can be seen, especially when they are in woodpiles, long grass or in other areas where visibility in obstructed, and when a non reptile person sees scales and stripes they often think tigersnake in this part of the country
  8. Cool, Sean and Stacey live not far from me here in Victoria.
  9. Were there real snakes at the course BP? Who ran it, if that's not a rude question?
  10. Generally i charge a callout fee and how much, if anything, depends on the circumstance of each individual stuation.
  11. this was today Last week i was called to this spa to remove the nasty animal Just a small sample of what I get called to..and this is just the last few months
  12. I have an amusing humping pic Ive been waiting to post.. Is that ok? This is Bundy making a bitch out of the lamb
  13. Not so much a movie about dogs but the film adaptation of 'Island of the Blue Dolphins' made in 1964 (about the same time as "the Littlest Hobo ??) had some amazing scenes with dogs in them and it was set on an island where two kids were stranded and they share this island with wild dogs. When i was a kid i loved this movie and even read the book after watching it. Has anyone else seen it?
  14. This is a feral cat but the picture does show how effective they are at hunting. The dragons make erratic movement which attract the snake and they soon become very good at catching the speedy lizards. Sorry if the photo is distressing (mods can remove it if it's to much) but it shows that cats will hunt during the day as well as the night. Feral Remember this is just 24 hours in the life of one feral cat And yes, poultry makes a much better snake defence than a cat,, and yes, i have been to many callouts where the snake has killed the cat
  15. yep thats me on APS and i have been banned from there a few times to. not for a couple of years now though It's a fun place with lots of drama, love it
  16. The funny thing is that they knew it was a skink and were still terrified by it. Well, I thought it was funny anyway. Nice enough people but the herpetophobia was screaming from them. That 'tiger in the bookcase' was a lot more of a challenge.
  17. I got the call to attend this place last night while i was haviing dinner at the local. They were terrified but at least the cornered the big bad critter.
