  1. Another Wombaroo fan here. Last litter Mum had trouble keeping up milk supply and we had to sup feed a bit, pups loved and it and all were nice big healthy, chunky pups. Really easy to mix up as you need.
  2. I have been blown away at how 'exclusive' charities are these days! I had a couch about 18months ago, that was too good to give away and they said 'we arent accepting couches at the moment we are too full'. I saw myself some of the furinture they had in that op shop and it was WAY more shabby then the stuff that I was trying to give away. Also had some side boards etc at work to giveaway, just wasnt getting used nothing wrong with it- rang them twice, never showed up! So- We had a garage sale- sold the sideboard for $30 and the couch for $100 (along with a whole heap of other stuff!) Ended up with close to $400 with other bits and pieces (especially clothes!) and still gave away stuff. I had a friend who loaded up a trailer and brought some of her stuff over and she put her thing over to one side and we did it together (think she made a couple of hundered from memory) she didnt have the big things like I did. Might be worth gathering somethings together and doing a garage sale?
  3. I get excited about anything that 's possibly going to make life easier!! Since we're talking vacuuming and dogs. I just sprinkled some Bicarb Soda on the carpet, left it while I surfed the forum and then vacuumed. Really helps remove the "stale doggy smell" so that the pooches can now roll around and put "fresh doggy smell" down. Oh good tip with the BiCarb Thanks! I have just used that carpet spray before (the stuff that comes out like foam) but I dont think its that grand TBH so will give the BiCarb a go!
  4. Convinced the OH to go Dyson shopping on weekend! (Is it weird that im kind of excited about it ?!?)
  5. I was trying to think of the Kirby (couldnt remember the name!) was hoping someone would mention them. I had a friend who had a very short stint selling them door to door (about 10 years ago) and I remember from the demo he did for us I thought it was good but VERY expensive. Good idea to Ebay it.
  6. Its not meant to be insulting, I apologise if you think it is, but in context of the whole sentence I do believe it holds some relevance. Perhaps a better choice of word would be better, but the sentence does communicate my point. The title is also why is Australia becoming so un dog friendly. I can barely access any beaches anymore, cannot let my dog offlead with effective control etc etc. Wouldn't you like to be more like some European countries where your dog could travel on the train, join you at a cafe and enjoy a swim at a beach without an hour drive? Third world countries are not used for this comparison. The health of aussie dogs is second to none, but how they fit into society and the increasing restraints placed on Aussie dog owners certainly is Maybe it just depends where you live in Aus then. Down the end of my street, there is a beach that is off leash 24-7 and the majority of others around me are off leash after 4pm. All the showers at the beach have little built in water bowls down the bottom for dogs. There is another 3 off leash dog parks within 5km from my house, and another two that are within about 7km that are specifically for dogs, one with agility equipment etc. My local cafe that I go to has water bowls out front for dogs. The two servos that are closest to me have little water bowls and doggy tie-up poles at the front door. I guess I find this interesting as I know 10 years ago, there was no dog parks, no water bowls in the beach showers etc... Edit to add- why cant I use third world countries as a comparison when you are comparing Australia to Europe? I just dont think Australia is as bad as you are making it out to be.
  7. I find that really insulting. I dont agree that we are non-dog friendly. Visit some third world countries and then you will see non-dog friendly.
  8. :rofl : Sounds like your model is more reliable than mine!
  9. Thanks for that, thats interesting to know its more about the filter for smell with the cat/dog specific ones! I will have a look at the Dysons and Miele's and see what deals I can get at the moment. Thanks for everyones input
  10. I just googled the roomba (had no idea what it was!) and OhMyDog! I want! Was it super expensive? My problem is carpet areas. Unfortunately, my house has carpet in the lounge and bedrooms. How do the Miele/Dysons go on carpet?
  11. Is it specifically a pet hair model?
  12. With my house ruled by three dogs who drop white hair everywhere, and a kitty cat who drops greyish hair everywhere else, I am wanting to invest in a good vacuum cleaner, specifically one that is good for pet hair. I have one that seems to do ok at the moment, but I am sure there has gotta be something better! Does anyone have brands they recommend? I am also interested in just the handheld ones too, just to go over little areas in a hurry. Thanks
  13. I ordered them for last litter, got a 1.5kg bag of dry, tin of wet and a nice canvas bag. I ordered mine the day after the pups were born and they didnt arrive till the day before they were going to home, took more than 8weeks to get to me. So of course I had then gone out and bought small bags of dog food etc for everyone. I gave them the advance ones anyway, but was still annoyed that it took so long! So my advice- order with plenty of time!!
  14. Bullies hucklebutt! And they do the bully egg (sleep in a ball that looks like an egg)
  15. Also a vote for Comfortis here. Had tried all the spot ons (frontline, advantix, advantage etc), flea bombs, sentinel all of it, with still never really getting rid of them- they decreased but not go away. I have three dogs and a cat who is an outside cat... Comfortis was the only thing that got rid of them. oh my doG I hate fleas.
  16. My one has them on a table near the checkout area but some you have to ask. I had one on worming (the brand I like to use and it explains worming frequency, why it's important) flea treatments ( also the brand I use on mine), petstock make Their own brochure range on puppy care etc (I assume they give it out at their puppy preschool) that's good. Also they had one think it was made by RSPCA on registering your dog with local council. That's the ones I remember anyway they had loads so I just picked through and found ones I thought useful. I just went in told them I had a litter and was putting together puppy packs and what could they give me...they were really Good...it's in their best interest to be helpful! New puppy owners spend $$ and wom is the best advertising...
  17. My last litter I included brochures on flea/worming/puppy preschool/council rego/puppy care etc. My local Petstock has loads of different info brochures I collected all nice glossy and saved me doing The work/printing them out. I told them I just had a litter and wanted 7 x all the brochures I picked and they even gave me some little discount vouchers too. I do my own book up too, which has sire dam pics, puppy pic, diet info, breed info, but this saved me a lot of printing! I include a small chew toy too and a couple of days worth of food they are on.
  18. Im from Sunshine Coast, but drive down to Brisbane and get my 3 done at once cause the cost is at least 3 times more up here. Vet I go to in Brisbane charges- $30 for a c5 $30 for microchipping.
  19. Mine come to work with me. I run my own buisness and 95% of our clientelle are phone/internet, and we ship all our product. so the amount of people we get come into the office is pretty minimal and all the packing etc is downstairs. so I dont have a problem with myself or staff bringing their pet to work. About once a week one of the girls who works for me, her hubby comes into have lunch with her and will bring along one of their cats for a visit. I usually only take one dog at a time though, then its their special day out with me (I take them for a walk at lunch etc) cause it would be a bit much for all three at once and I do have to spend some time paying attention to work Pets just make your day better! Here is Sushi sleeping under my desk, bout 10 weeks old
  20. You guys did a fantastic job! We just put this one up at home. It took about an hour to assemble. It has a shade cloth roof. The pic has Mum and daughter in it, but usually its just the baby of the bunch in there when we go out.
  21. Hi there I go to furkids at greenbank. They charge $700 to $1100 for a c-section (mine was $950 as it was after hours) and $60 for a ultrasound. They are cheap for vaccinations too- pups first vacc's were $30 each.
