Not Allowing Your Dog To Play With Other Dogs...
Pomi replied to persephone's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I think it's extremely important for dogs to mingle with other dogs that have similar temperament and size since a young age so that they can learn how to play, greet and respect other dogs as they age. This also helps them to grow confident in themselves and it teaches them to be calm around new dogs big or small when they're older. -
Mine was trained on the pads because he is indoors if we're not home. We ran out of pads once so we used newspaper while we waited for his pad to be sent to us. He's too cool for newspaper apparently and did his business everywhere else but on the newspaper. That week after picking him up from his puppy day care, they asked us what happened to this toileting >.< It's been pads ever since. When we're home, we'll teach him to toilet outside. Now, we open the door, he runs out to do his business and comes running in again :D

We were thinking of going to Falls Creek with furry baby. OH has found 1 or two accommodation I think...a bit out of Falls Creek but it's only for the weekend, we can manage.

Thanks for letting me know! OH will be very sad to hear this

Hi everyone, OH & I are planning a trip to Mt Buller for a weekend with our furry baby and we are wondering if anyone can recommend us pet friendly accommodation? It will be our first time there with furry baby so we want it to be a good experience for him so he can experience the snow. Thanks!

That is good to hear. Just wanted to know for the snow and cold winter morning/evening walks that may rain on us...a rain proof coat will do him fine then

Hi everyone, This will be the first winter that we'll be facing with our baby Pomeranian. So we wanted to be prepared. Is a plain rain coat is enough since he has a lot of fur or should we be investing in a coat that is both waterproof and warm? Please also advise us which brand to get. Thanks!

Sorry for the belated reply. Just wanted to thank everyone for your recommendations!!!!

Hi everyone, My OH and I are leaving the country for 4 weeks and wanted to know if anyone is able to recommend us a good kennel in Melbourne. At this stage we would like it to be in the Western Suburbs but really, we're willing to travel anywhere in Victoria for a good kennel that treats dogs well and keeps them safe while we're gone. This is the first time we'll be leaving our dog at a kennel and we're not afraid to pay a bit more and travel further knowing that he will be happy, safe and is being treated right. Please recommend us a dog kennel. Thanks!!!

Vet Recommendation In Altona North Area?
Pomi replied to Pomi's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Thank you!!! We have noted him down for our baby's next future consultations. -
Hi everyone, A good VET is very important and we don't want to do trail and errors until we find a VET that truly cares for animals and give them a proper check over etc... The VET we went to for our pup's first check up put the thermometer in him and then put it back in the container without cleaning it. I was so worried that it was contaminated and might effect our baby or am I just being paranoid? Does anyone know of or can recommend a good VET for our baby around Altona North area?

Hi everyone, Just needed some advice on what to use for our new puppy who is 11weeks old on Friday. He will need his next dosage of worming on Tuesday so wanted to know if it's ok to use Sentinel on him as it covers worming, fleas and heartworm or just Dontal and Frontline Plus? Heartworm is not present and if anything very very rare in our area so it's not necessary until 6mth unless we take him outside the area.... Any other recommendations will be great! Thanks.

Thanks Nik. Looked at Hairy Hounds their website and it's seems very good and close to our place. Have sent them an e-mail for more info. I won't be taking the puppy home till next week unless the breeder says otherwise. So I won't keep my hopes up for attending any puppy school during the Christmas & New Years break. Our baby boy will be trained by novice parents that rely on doggy books until we are enrolled into school...oh dear.
