Newfie Pup From Nine Weeks To Six Months
BooBooBear replied to newfsie's topic in General Dog Discussion
what a little angel, I adore Newfies, she is perfect! -
Oh gosh it's all so hard and I'm so very tired it's been a tough week!!!
-
hehehe sorry he's back in the other room, it's the laundry, i've got the sliding door shut but open about 2 inches. He's been sleeping on the tiles and hasn't made a sound in about 15 minutes I guess.
-
Thanks Megan. I actually did go in to him, took him outside again to see if he needed to go to the toilet which he didn't, but came back in had a drink of water and literally flopped on the floor beside the water bowl and has been quiet ever since. I think he was hot?? He's now sleeping just on the floor tiles and hasn't stirred. Do you think he could have been distressed because he was hot?

Humphrey is 9 weeks old and been with me a week. We have been doing OK with the puppy pen but tonight he won't stop barking, he's been going for about 10 minutes. Do I go out to him????? I took him to the toilet before putting him in there but now he is going NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edited to add: when I say out to him I mean into the other room not outside!

Nutro Natural Choice Dog Food
BooBooBear replied to BooBooBear's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Thanks so much for your advice. It was actually the tinned food I was thinking about, I saw it at Petwise the other day and my breeder said give some tinned food and I think this could be a good natural option -
Humphrey arrived last Saturday so this is my first week I'm so in love with him!!! Haven't post processed these, too busy running after the little sausage
-
Does anyone feed this all natural brand to their puppies/dogs? Just wondering what your thoughts are? Thanks

Top Walks For You And Your Dog
BooBooBear replied to PuggaWuggles's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Thanks for this, great resource!!! -
Congratulations on your new little edition! We are at the same stage, my little Golden Retriever Humphrey is the same age and arrived last week he ate some grass this week but I just made sure it was actually grass and not a weed that could be dangerous. My old poochie loved grass too
-
Nadz - you and me both, I keep listening listening listening for little noises. Humphrey is getting so much better. Although yesterday he did have an accident in his crate (number 2's!!!) but I think it happened so fast he didn't have time to alert me as it was very (sorry for the description) runny and yucky. Poor little poppet When we go out for 'loo' he just comes straight back in now and settles, getting much much better everyday. It's hard work though
-
Oh my goodness - Serena I'm devastated for you. I have tears in my eyes and I know exactly how it feels to lose a beautiful big heart like Rocco.....All I can say is that I know for sure that my beautiful baby boy BooBoo (12 year old Bullmastiff I lost in September last year) will be there waiting for him....I just know it. My heart is broken for you.....words cannot express the feeling just know my thoughts are with you. xxxxx

Thanks for the encouragement - we had another good night - Humphrey woke up at 3.30am the first time and then did 'loo' and back to sleep until 5.00am so we are doing well I think. Ohh can I just say Chestnut is such a cute name
-
How did it go last night?? I did the crate in the living room, covered it with a sheet and ignored the crying and barking and about 10 minutes later he settled and slept from 9.30pm until 4.30am so I was pretty happy with that!! Then I took him out to go 'loo' put him back in the crate and he cried/barked again but settled until around 5.45am. So slowly slowly we are getting there! It's so hard :p
-
All I can say is that I had the same night as you My little 8 week old retriever arrived home yesterday and I didnt get much sleep. I don't think he liked being in the crate and he was panting quite a lot, although we have air con so he wasn't hot, must have been a little stressed out. Hoping hoping hoping tonight is a lot better :D

It's HUMPHREY DAY ;) he's arriving at 8.35am at the airport :D The excitement is ridiculous Yes got my crate all sorted for sleepies tonight by my bed, bless his little heart ;) will see how we go!!

Puppy Going To Friends House For A Visit?
BooBooBear replied to BooBooBear's topic in General Dog Discussion
I just didn't want to appear to be a 'bad mummy' if I left him in his first few days but if you all think he will be fine for a few hours then I will do that. It's actually not too far from my house (few blocks really) so I can come home and check on him Daisy - my friends have lived there for just over 3 years and they only have one dog and don't have other dogs visit as far as I know. Poodlefan - thank so much for the info much appreciated. Fifi and Monah - yes I think I will leave him at home Thanks so much for your help everyone!! -
Little Humphrey arrives with me on Saturday (excitement overload ) and I have been invited to a friend's house on Tuesday (Australia Day) for a bbq. I haven't replied to them yet because I would never leave Humphrey alone at home to go to a party - especially in the first few days/weeks!!! My friends have a little (mixed breed) dog. So what I'm wondering is if it is safe to take him to visit a friend who has a dog? I don't want to put him in any danger regarding Parvo etc I just wasn't sure if it is only dog parks etc that are unsafe or is it socialising with all dogs in general? Thanks so much!

Yep going to crate train, got my crate all ready

Western Sydney Church Selling Dd's
BooBooBear replied to Crazy Daisy's topic in General Dog Discussion
this just makes me so mad and so sad . I'm disgusted. I won't even get started on these so called 'churches' that seem to pop up all over the place I think approaching in the Head Pastor would be a good idea, stating the facts about DD and health issues etc. -
Thank you so much for those tips! Mrs Tornsocks, I thought I would set an alarm too, glad it worked for you Daydreamer - that's great that it only lasted a minutes Will definitely be posting lots of photos of Humphrey - oohh I'm so excited!!!!
-
MP oh that's a wonderful idea, I will so need to contact her and get her to do that ;) oh oops YOU are the breeder
