  1. Thanks everyone for your good thoughts, unfortunately she's back at the vets tonight I brought her home last night to have her throw up again during the night, and more this morning, so back again (to a different emergency clinic where I work - the GREATEST VETS EVER THERE!!!!) so hopefully by tomorrow we'll have something to go on.... my poor baby!!!
  2. Thanks for your kind words :D I'm glad Renae is all better , i'm hoping that's probably what is wrong with Lottie... It's hard to see them so sick
  3. Poor little Lottie had to have a trip to the vets today, and stay overnight..... At first the vets were quite worried that she had a blockage, as Tuesday night she woke me through the night (around 1am) and vomited quite a lot (all her dinner)!! was off her food yesterday morning, and was kind of dry reaching a little, but yesterday afternoon she had really picked up alot, so i thought she must of just had a little stomach bug which was getting better!! very happy and bouncy, so I cooked her some bland rice and chick and fed her a little, and again last night she woke me again around 1am vomiting , then this morning vomited again!!! So STRAIGHT to the vets!!!! Xrays were taken, but luckily there was no significant blockages (they found a few little bone pieces in her pyloric sphincter, but nothing to worry too much about at the moment!!!!) But the vet will check again in the am. Luckily she's at the uni clinic which is a 24 hour emergency clinic staffed all night!! My poor girl, fingers crossed i'm able to bring her home tomorrow afternoon!!!
  4. I always thought that my next dog I would get from a resuce group (had the same reaction from some people when I told them I was buying a purebred dog, an Aussie as well ), But after owning an Aussie they are probably the only dog I will own!!! Do what you feel is right, and don't let people guilt you into anything!!!!! Edited for spelling :D
  5. I feed Lottie twice a day - but she is quite young still - She gets just dry food in the am (whenever I get up so can be anywhere between 6-8), and I feed her some dry food and a bone/turkey neck/chicken necks (whatever I have) in the evenings - usually around 6ish.
  6. Thanks The Ark I like that she has a bit of blue in her eyes (there's a TINY bit of blue in the bottom corner of her other eye as well), but some people do think at first there is something wrong with her... I'm studying vet science and I had a girl from an OLDER (i'm in 3rd year mind you) year come up to me and STATE - 'oh she has cataracts'!!!!!!!!!!!! I said 'What year are you in??!!!!' and walked away I was so angry, yet so shocked that someone in a higher grade couldn't tell between colour and cataracts!!!! Do you have any photos of Dragon to share (or have I missed them somewhere else??).
  7. Nope, she has a full tail. I love the look of a NBT, but Till has a beauty . Hehehe, I always try to imagine Lottie with a tail but just can't!! You'll have to post some photos of your beautiful girl!!!!!
  8. ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love coming on DOL, I've met some wonderful people, and i've been gaining lots of great information!!! (Plus I love looking at all the photos of everyone's gorgeous dogs!!). It's really changed my view on dog breeding etc/having great registered breeders to go to and ask questions etc :D
  9. Hey Aussielover! She's mismarked because of the colour missing around her right eye (the close up of her face shows it well ). She's also got a bit too much white over her shoulder/leg area as well.
  10. Thanks for the compliments. I think she is gorgeous but then I think they all are . Tilly has dilute patches and is on limit register so she will not be shown, but I wanted her for Obed and agility so suited me fine. She is quite small at 17 kg considering she is well covered and one of these days I will get around to measuring her to see if she is as small as I think she is. She is 16 months and just old enough to start agility next week which I am really looking forward to. I am hoping to get some new pics this weekend and put them in the Aussie pics thread. I feel the same way as you, in that I dont think I will ever be without one now and there definitely will be a number 2 when the time is right. Next one will be for show . Oh thats so exciting about starting agility!! I'm the same, I wanted a blue merle bitch so much, but not for showing etc, so Lottie suited me PERFECT!!!!!! I want to do flyball as well, i think that would be lots of fun!! Oh, but I am taking Lottie out to a ladies place this weekend for her to have a look at some sheep, so i'm very excited about that! Can't wait to see some new pics of her Is she a NBT??
  11. He has turned into a simply STUNNING and big boy!!!!!! I think Lottie and him need a playdate
  12. I know!! She's all grown up now!!! (well nearly!!!) How's your man going?? I was just thinking about him today and wondering how he's getting along? How's he going with other dogs now?? He must be getting big as well, would love to see some photos of the gorgeous boy!!!!!!!
  13. Oh yay Nic, well thats good, we'll knuckle down together!!! hehe. Lottie's only been to two classes in Toowoomba as well, but it's run very similiar to metro which is good Thanks Thelinks!! Nope, she's not little anymore, thats for sure!!!! She's at about 20kgs now but still got a good condition on her, not overweight, i think she's just on the bigger scale!! Tilly is stunning as well!!!!!!! Such a gorgeous girl!!!!!!! Do you show her?? How old is she now?? One photo I saw of her reminded me so much of Lottie!!! I know for sure i'll never not own an Aussie, i'm pretty taken by them!!!
  14. I know!!! But good news!!!! I'm in Bris for the weekend, and i'm staying till Monday night so i'll be at obedience!!!!!!!! What group are you in now, we'll probably be in different groups now But I have been taking Lottie to Toowoomba so maybe i'll just slip into the group you're in, hehe!!! I think i'll make the effort to get back to the bris one at least every 2nd weekend!!
  15. Thought i'd share some more recent (took these yesterday) photos of my beautiful girl!!!!! As like Ava (previous Aussie photo thread ) my girl is a mismark as well - but the most gorgeous girl in the WORLD!!! She's been such a delight to own, and I can't wait until I'm blessed with my little boy Aussie - few years down the track yet, but I'm hoping to get a red merle boy show quality - i'd LOVE to show!! Anyway, thats a little off topic!! hehe, here's my girl Lottie.... And look at the difference ... the first was taken a couple months ago, and the next today!!!
  16. Hahahaha.... How funny!!! Dogs are great!!!
  17. Actually the more I think about it the more I think Lottie is attached to me - she follows me to the toilet - came INTO the shower with me yesterday!!!! and is my second shadow, but she's also quite content to lay around outside on her own - best of both worlds!!!! Ah dogs, how could we ever live without them!!!!!! My next aussie will be a male (quite a few years away yet) so it'll be interesting to compare them!!!
  18. This topic has been a really interesting read!! When I first got Lottie she was very similar - and I definately think it's mainly to do with her personality!! She's such a confident, outgoing girl who loves to be in all the action!! She would often come and say hello, but then go outside and lay on the concrete (she finds the coolest spots to sleep!!). She's just very content being on her own, and I must admit, i'm so grateful for having a dog that's so easy going!!! I can leave her with my parents and know she's very happy to sleep around all day, but she sounds very similar to your girl Fran - she's very obedient, loves all other dogs and people, and has cuddles if she wants them, but saying that you can definately tell she's my dog - she barely listens to anyone else (we're working on this!!) and if I leave a room she's right there with me. Lottie's around 7 months now and I feel she's slowly coming out of the wanting to play 24/7 with other dogs, and calming down a little... I have a friend who has a border collie bitch who is so utterly obsessed with owner it's insane!!!! Like never ever ever ever ever takes her eyes off her if she is in sight. I felt the same way Fran, was a little disheartened as to how aloof she was when she was a puppy, yet when she was with other dogs you could see just how happy she was!! But doing lots of one on one things with her, having lots of fun, taking her to obedience etc we've definately now got a very strong and close bond . Also, when something scares Lottie she'll come running to me and hide behind my legs - the first time she did that I was with a massive group of people and that made me feel loved, haha. Your girl sounds gorgeous (and very similiar to Lottie) and I'm sure you'll have a wonderful life together!!!!!!
  19. I totally agree Rubystar!!! haha!!! It was funny when Lottie was going through her gangly stage - but she's slowly turning into an adult, and Looking at the photos again makes me want another puppy.... I think a red merle would fit in lovely with Lottie!!! hehehe
  20. Looking back on my time with Lottie as a puppy, I wish it had gone slower!! I think now I hardly remember the time - even though I was on holidays for like 3 months with her!!!!! so timing was perfect!!! But here's some photos of the little rascal.... This is the first photo I received of Lottie from the breeder and knew she was the one for me!!!!! This is at 6 weeks old. This was the day I picked her up..... This was a week after I had her.... And this one just because I love it - her on my horse float!!!! Sorry for the photo overload!!!!!
  21. I'm another who had a meltdown the day after I got Lottie - The day I picked her up was the greatest day ever!!!!!! She was great in the car, very confident little girl, then the nighttime came - I was home all alone, uni had finished for the year, I was exhausted and I had this little puppy who I was now responsible for!!!! I remember msg my friend at about 6am the next morning asking if she was awake (she has two dogs), took Lottie over and burst into tears!!!!!! Then I went to my sisters and again burst into tears - but she talked some sense into me!!! And now I look back and think how silly I was - she was actually really quite good considering.... Now I couldn't live without her!!! Luckily my doubt about it all only lasted a couple days, now she's 7 months old, and not a puppy anymore, and although when she was a puppy all I could think was I can't wait till she's all grown up, but now I WISH she was little again ;) it goes soooo quick!!!!
  22. Yep, because of the no colour around her eyes, also their ears aren't meant to be fully white I don't think, and also over her shoulders/withers/front leg region (someone correct me if i'm wrong - i'm just learning about all the correct colouring for Aussies!!). Theres rules to it all, but i'm sure someone can give you the specifics on it all!!! I know with my girl, one of her eyes doesn't have colour fully around, she also has too much on her shoulders/front legs and her ears - so just too much white!! hehe, but it makes them so unique!!!!! All I can say is she's stunning!!!! I know i'll never not have an aussie in my life now!!!!
  23. YAY!!!! I found the photos of your new little bundle!!! ENJOY IT WHILE HE'S THIS LITTLE!!! Can't wait to hear the story of when/why/how you got him!!!!! very very exciting.... I want a puppy!!!! I'll have to bring Lottie around for a playdate when he's a bit older!!!! Was he from your friends litter??
  24. STUNNING STUNNING STUNNING STUNNING STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I need to add another Aussie to my family - Lottie would LOVE a playmate!!!!!!!
  25. She is a STUNNING girl!!!! (and mismarks are the best, i'm just a tad biased!!!!!) How crazy, I was going to call my girl Ava, but at the last minute decided on Lottie (she's a mismark as well!!), but Ava was my second choice!! Good luck with her and have fun, they grow up soooo quick!!!
