And sorry they're so big - photobucket isn't cooperating with me!!! (if they are too big please let me know and i'll delete and try again in a little while!!) Although this isn't in focus too well - I do love it!!!

Just bumping this gorgeous thread - LOVING everyones Christmas puppies I got my new camera this week, so have been out playing with it this morning with Lottie dressed up Just give me a cookie already.......

Thanks everyone ;) It's just all soooo much fun!!!! (oh, and I blame all you guys for your gorgeous photos and me wanting a dslr desperately!!!) I'm been mainly using auto yesterday, but this morning decided to pop it on manual and have a little go.... slowly understanding what it all means... SLOWLY!!!!! Thought i'd show you my first couple photos (Lottie missed out today as she was just not cooperating ), so here are a couple photos of my sisters dogs (i'm doing up a few things for their Christmas presents/birthday) so have been taking a few photos of them!!!! I made the three girls (Dexta the rottie, Astro below and Lottie mine) some Christmas collars with a little bandana thing attached as well for some Christmas photos... And Dexta These were taken with the nifty fifty... obviously I have soooo much to learn, but it's all soooo much fun :p ;) Ok - just have one more that I got of my girl (nearly, hehe)

YAYAYAY!!! My new camera arrived today I must admit i'm feeling very overwhelmed by it and have absolutely no idea what i'm doing, but i'll get there - I'm about to start doing lots of reading and hopefully one day i'll slightly understand it!!! And thanks to my very lovely secret santa on here (snooks, formerly justice shades), I got an awesome 'understanding exposure' book which is just great!!!!!! Ok - here's my new baby!!!! I ended up going with the Canon 550D (but I ended up getting a grey import so it's actually the Kiss X4 body), with the 18-55mm and also the 50mm 1.8 lens, along with an extra battery, and a few other extra bits and pieces!! I'm very happy and impressed with it (and it took less then a week to arrive as well!!), so right now i'm a very happy girl!!!!

Hehehe -LOVE the head tilts!!! Lottie tilts her head ALLL the time and I often get her to do it in photos by saying 'want some dinner', but i'm not on my computer at the moment, but will see if I can find a few on here... Puppy head tilt These ones aren't to good - when I get back home i'll get the severe head tilts ones happening :cry:

Well this year (thanks to DOL) i've become obsessed with photography - haven't done anything exciting yet - but just bought my first DSLR ;) It should be here by next week - SOOOO excited, so hopefully next year will be a fun year of learning!!!!!

I'm getting Lotties 1st year vacc next week - but after that I'll be TT. I also don't do the heartworm injection but use chewables.

Sorry Kja - I just thought i'd post more questions in here rather then start a knew thread!! Thanks for all the advice so far... gah i'm just so confused about it all!! On topbuy they have the 550D (kiss X4 body) + 18-55mm lens + 3 year warranty with Mack for $857 and that includes all postage and insurance for postage etc... I've been ringing around all day to local suppliers (I know that's not the same as going in), but just asking if they'll match online like topbuy, and no-ones been able to!

Ok, so I just was wondering one little thing - is there any difference between the Canon 550D and the Kiss X4 - I get the impression they're the same camera, but the Kiss X4 is what they call it in Japan?? Is there any difference in quality or anything?? I need some help from you amazing DOL photographers - I really trust your experiences/opinions!!!! One more thing - i'm really struggling with the whole buying a camera thing - mainly my big concern/question is should I be looking at a grey import (they fit nicer with my budget!!), but i've been doing LOTS of reading about different sites/grey imports and they're just so conflicting!!!! The three sites I have up (with the camera waiting in the basket to buy ) are DWI, Topbuy and Eglobal. I also think i've read every possible thread on here about which camera to buy, where to go etc and I still don't know!! I'm just about to give up - Oh, and i've decided on the Canon 550D - with the 18-55mm lens and I'll also buy a seperate 50mm 1.8. And one last thing - the Kiss seems to be cheaper - would it be ok to get the Canon kiss X4 from the above sites?? Ahhhh so many decisions!!!!

Just thought i'd let you know (if it hasn't already been said ) that there's a show on in Caboolture this weekend (North Brisbane) - I think Sat 20th/Sun21st! Anyone can correct me on that one though - as i'll be going on the Sunday, so lets hope there's a show on !!!

Ok - so uni finished today and i'm on the real hunt for my camera (which i've decided on the canon 550D). I've noticed on ebay that there are brand new ones from Hong Kong for example - but I just don't know what these are like, if they are genuine etc - one such as DC Trade offers a full 2 year warranty on the camera, but should I really just be looking for something in Australia and stear clear from these?? Thanks for the help!!!!
