Sounds like everything's going well Dju Don't worry about Hugo not liking kibble much. When Buffy was younger she went through a period where she'd turn her nose up at her kibble too, and would sometimes end up missing brekky and just having dinner. If he's really hungry, he will eat it (unless the food's making him sick). ETA Make sure he doesn't chew off the rope and ingest it. When Buffy was younger she used to chew those kinda bits off her toys and swallow them. Ended up throwing them back up. Yuck! So now she's never given anything with rope or fabric to play with unsupervised.

I see. I can't adjust the suction on our vacuum. Buffy always lies right in the middle of whichever room I'm vacuuming, so I constantly vacuum right around her, but never contemplated actually vacuuming her. Maybe I'll try with the cordless handheld vacuum

I was wondering, is there a difference in the glass quality between the IS and non-IS version. From what I have seen, the IS version is 100mm 2.8L, whereas the non-IS version doesn't have the 'L' after the 2.8. Thanks

Do you guys seriously use a vacuum on your dogs? I ask this cos someone at work once mentioned that to me, but I wasn't sure if he was joking. It sounds like a great idea, but wouldn't the suction be too strong?

Thanks guys. It's just something I've always wondered about. Yes, does seem hard to pick the differences when I go through the 50mm pics thread, but there are a lot of variables to consider. Huga, your 50mm 1.8 shots are fantastic

I'm asking out of curiosity, as I already have a Canon 50mm 1.8 and don't intend to upgrade to the 1.4. But do the two lenses produce different quality pictures, assuming same body, settings, photographer, subject, etc? Just that I realised when people take photos using fast, large aperture lenses, they hardly ever have it at the largest aperture setting. So apart from difference in build of lens, and the ability to shoot at 1.4, is there much difference between the 2 lenses? If you shot at say, 2.8, would both the lenses produce almost identical pictures?
