  1. Hey Stormie Do you know where you can buy these refills?
  2. I have allergies to certain types of animal fur/hair. When we got our Vizsla I was sniffley, I had itchy eyes and itchy skin. About a week later it disappeared and I haven't had a reaction to Costa's hair since. It seems my body just adjusted to it or something. Has anyone else experience anything similar?
  3. Lauren Golden - This is our first week leaving Costa at home. Last week we did small test runs for short periods. This week when we leave I give him a brisket bone, a kong filled with kibble, a huge ice block with dog treats frozen into it. This seem to keep him busy for awhile. However I went home in my lunch break and found he had dug a big hole, knocked my pot plant over and filled his pool with dirt. On a positive I would prefer him doing this than crying at the door.
  4. Ok I have had some success. I mixed 50g of my barf mix to 100g of chicken mince and he scoffed it down. I am also going to slowly add a premium kibble to his diet to ensure he is getting the nutrients he needs. He is also eating lamb flaps and chicken necks. Costa is a Vizsla. His breeder recommended a barf diet but didn't specify which vegetables/fruit. Thanks everyone.
  5. Ok well i might try adding more meat and see how he goes. He does get raw fatty bones during the day also. Thank you for the advise!
  6. Yeah i'd say he did regurgitate it rather than vomit. He was hiccuping just beforehand as well.
  7. I did up a large mix 4 kg of chicken mince, 1.5 kg of vege and fruit. The kidney was 400gms.
  8. He is 13 weeks old, we have only had him home for 10 days. I have been feeding him chicken mince with just carrot and sweet potato and chicken necks, that has been fine.
  9. Chicken mince (pet mince) , beef kidney, carrot, sweet potato, broccoli, cauliflower, apple, pear, small amount of natural yogurt and flax seed oil.
  10. Hi I need help. I made up a home made barf mix yesterday and when i feed it to him last night he wasn't very interested and only had a little bit. I then gave it to him again today and he still didn't really want it. He is really hungry, so when i stood over him he ate it. As soon as he finished he vomited to all up. He hasn't got diarrhea and is not lethargic. It seems as if he just doesn't like the food. Any suggestions?? Thanks CM
  11. Oh Lola what a cutie!! Thank you for sharing. Yes Costa is a Hungarian Vizsla. Costa's name came from Costa's Garden Odyssey the tv show on SBS. We really liked the name and the guy Costa is just so excitable about his gardens we thought it would be a good name for an energetic dog. Yes the play pens are a worry. We have a bunnings one and he hasn't tried to climb over but has put his paws up at it. I haven't left him unsupervised yet so i might need to rethink where we will put him. CM
  12. Hi Everyone Costa arrived yesterday and is just lovely! ;) He is such a good boy, he seems to love his crate from the start and took himself off to bed last night when he was tired. We didn't hear a peep out of him all night, I took him out at 2am and he settled quickly then woke at 6am. He has been to the vet this morning and had his second vaccination so he is very quiet today, sleeping in his crate. Toileting is going ok, he did have an accident, my fault as I wasn't quick enough. But mainly he sniffs at the door and we quickly take him out. Good luck to those who are getting there puppies on the weekend, I look forward to the photos. CM
  13. BF Sorry to hear about your daughter, I hope she is doing ok. There seems to be a lot of puppies arriving soon. Very exciting. Tomorrow is our big day, his flight arrives at 11:30 so we will be collecting him shortly after that. Hopefully i'll be able to sleep tonight, starting to feel a bit nervous! CM
  14. Bluefairy - that is wonderful news! I just knew the right puppy would come along, all the waiting becomes worth it when the right pup comes along. I look forward to seeing some photos of Zoe.
