Women Injured And Animals Killed In Overnight Fires (caboolture Qld)
Simply Grand replied to Boronia's topic in In The News
Go Jed - keep fighting, but no rush, take your time to gather your physical and mental strength. You can do it, and we're all here with you. Candle re-lit, helped myself to some lunch from all the yummy things in the waiting room now off to do some work *sigh*. Oh I meant to say as well, Tyra I love the Creation Verse about the DOG! Brought a little tear to my eye. ETA it was Tyra who posted the Creation verse. -

Cute, cute, cuuuuuuuuuute puppies! They are all just soooo adorable :D CLASTIC - another puppy!!!!!!!!!! yay! you will have so much fun. Can't wait to meet her. Stupid winter, with it getting dark so early I only get to the dog park on weekends. I'm sure I'll run into you there though and get to meet your girl when she's old enough, and see how Mars has grown! Nic - little Oreo is toof-less, poor fella Hoorah for adult teeth though, no more little needles. -
How Insane..my Herd Got Out Yesterday!

I'm sorry spoilt lab, it must have been scary for you, but that is the funniest story ever! It made me laugh out loud at my desk. I can just picture a line of dogs trotting down the road followed by a goat And then just walking themselves into the school and going to find their friends in class. That's hilarious, and so so cute I'm very glad they were all found safe and sound. -
Aaaaww, sweet. They're such gorgeous dogs! Anyone see the "Related story" on that web page about the guide dog who died of cancer?

Fran, yes, last update was the setback unfortunately, I think Cavalblaze was probably just catching up on the thread. I'm sure the next update will be a step forward though -

Nushie, Jager is such a cutie and he sounds like a very good little boy! I can just picture him lying there chewing his ducky, how cute :D I know exactly what you mean about the smell, when Saxon was a baby I swear I would "smell" his little puppy smell throughout the day and have massive cravings to cuddle him and breathe it in :p I don't know if I actually did smell it, I thought I was probably just imagining/remembering the smell but my theory was that puppies give off a smell that makes their "mother" crave them so they don't get abandoned. Haven't seen anything supporting my theory but it made sense to me! Aaawww now I'm remembering puppy smell, soooo sweet :D -
I was just reading the Breeders forum. I go in there to look at the baby puppy photos (soooooo cute ) but I find the threads really interesting too, and it's shown me just how much goes into (or should go into) breeding - especially for the mummy dog's owners, but for stud dog owners too. As well as the actual pregnancy, whelping and raising the babies, there are the years of work and consideration that good breeders put into determining if the dogs should be bred. Anyway, the sister of a good friend of mine owns a Golden Retriever boy. I believe he is 6. They absolutely adore him and he is a beautiful dog, both physically and in temperament. He is purebred and I think they have his pedigree papers, but I don't know where they got him from or if he's main register. Anyway, they never got him desexed. They seem to think this is a good thing, because it made him bigger and "better looking" than he would have been if he'd been desexed (clearly no longer an issue at 6 anyway). Recently, my friend let slip that her sister's partner quite likes the idea of the dog fathering a litter, basically so he (the dog) has left his mark on the world. Now I don't think they're really planning to do anything about this, I did mention that it would depend on them finding someone who wanted to use him - given that they don't show or do competitions or anything with him, I wouldn't think good breeders would be particularly interested? I also said - jokingly, but not really - that if he manages to get to a bitch on heat, it's fine for them, not so fine for the bitch's owner who has to deal with an unplanned litter. She said, "oh that won't happen, he's gay anyway, he only likes boy dogs, hahaha" . I'm pretty sure the dog has never been around a bitch on heat, because from what I've heard, that would turn him, no matter how uninterested he normally is. Aside from all that, it is legislated in the ACT that all dogs must be desexed, unless you have a permit to keep them entire - which they don't (to get the permit, the dog has to be registered with the Greyhound Racing Club or the ACT Canine Association). This frustrates the heck out of me, as someone new to the dog world and certainly not a breeder, so I just can't imagine the frustration those of you so much more involved get with people Sigh... Hmm, now that I've read back over this, it doesn't actually sound that bad I guess it's just the attitude that the rules (both legal and ethical breeding-wise) don't apply to them that annoys me. And that they just think they have a great dog so he should be bred.

Oh Lorraine, how scary! What a sneaky little escape artist. He went to tell his friend how mean mummy is SHARING her attention with someone else Very glad he came back safe and sound.

It's stupid, but I just couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong with my password on my laptop. I made both logins substantially similar, no deception. Although if I ever say anything really stupid I'll blame it on the other Aidan. I'm glad you asked that BM, I've been wondering -
