Actually, this is quite interesting to me too, I was looking at getting some for Sabby for bushwalking. He cut his foot on the rocks once and I haven't taken him out again. But I thought that if he had boots on then he would be safe. Strangely enough he is quite happy to wear socks which is why I thought he would go ok with boots. He will even leave a bandaid on if I put it on his foot

I think Cesar is amazing (and cute). I have used a bit of what he has instructed on various dogs, and mostly it has worked. The calm assertive thing is quite hard to do when you are frustrated, but it all makes so much sense. I have also used a lot of his stuff on my own dog who is very well behaved anyway, but it was very helpful for when he became deaf. Using body language and energy is very good for communicating with a deaf dog. For my next dog I will be applying Cesars techniques but will also be taking it to extensive training. Not only will it be good for socialising but also for training. Cesar mainly talks about energy and pack leader stuff which is brillaint for the overall well-being of your dog but he does not tell you how to make your dog "sit" for example. I believe that Cesar helps you to understand your dog, which will be an enormous help when it comes to training. It really does explain why people have trouble with their dogs though.

I love trying to identify dog breeds, it is like a cool guessing game. But I always ask once I think I have it right to see if I am. I don't get many people getting Sabbys breed right, mostly I get asked if he is an American Bulldog. I guess people just aren't used to White Boxers.

Www, thanks so much. It is nice to be able to talk to someone isn't it. I have only noticed the deafness in the past 3 weeks, but I put it down to old age, I didn't connect it to the MCT at all. Sabby has fresh salmon every night for dinner, I work at a seafood wholesaler so I get the offcuts pretty cheap. I started doing it for his arthiritis and now I just do it because of the look I get if I don't have any for him lol But I try to do everything for him to make him happy. So if he wants salmon then he gets salmon. Sabby has got heaps of little lumps on him but only one nasty one, I am the same as you though, if I see a new one I just ignore it. No point in getting worked up over it now. Good luck at the vets, I will be interested to hear what they have to say about the deafness. Take care

I have had the same thing with Sabby. He wasn't interested in food for about a week, all I could get him to eat was Salmon and steamed chicken, he was still active he just wasn't hungry. He even refused cheese and liver treats. Luckily he has bounced back and is eating well again. I have also noticed that his hearing hasn't been so good, I wonder if that is old age or the MCT. Anyone have ideas on this? I feel like I am walking on eggshells right now, constantly looking at him to see if he is ok. Any small thing sends me into a panic. But at least I still have him.

Our boxers got this a fair bit from not having a tail, they would swim and then run around like jet ski's with water firing out their rear end. They never got sick from it. Sabby gets it now and then but it never affects him afterwards.

Well thats just given me some great ideas for meals. It certainly makes sense.

It has been nice reading these success stories. My boy has had 3 MCT's removed over the past 9 years, the one he has now that is on his back leg and is in-operable. The vets told me that he could be around for another few years (he is 11 now). So it is nice to hear that other dogs have lasted so long with the tumors. I am very worried at the moment though as Sabby is off his food a bit. He will eat but isn't that keen on it. He eats his fresh salmon but won't eat much else. So I am not sure if he just has a sore tummy or if the cancer is starting to affect him. If he still isn't right by Monday I will take him to the vets.

She is adorable. I would love to get a Frenchie as my next dog. The Fawn and the B&W pied are my favorite colours. Those cute faces just make you melt.
