Is Canned Food Bad For Dogs Teeth?
TillyandCC replied to Sasha (Alexander)'s topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
if you read the can it is 10-11% per 100g - the can is 700g so that equates to 70 - 77% for the can - well that's the way I read it. And what is on the label is in the can. Sophie -

I was at a show on the weekend and met 2 lovely ladies from Eagle Pack, they explained to me that they are waiting on shipments to arrive here from the US and that it will be at least another 6 weeks for their dog food. Their cat food variety is all ok. I did however notice that the prizes we were getting on the day were very close to use by date. Must admit I was at a cat show - showing our cat. And he did very well. Sophie

No not at all - just like it as our girl was so very fussy about her food and it is the only thing she will eat apart from the occasional roast chicken. I am new to the list and will only speak about things I have experienced - sorry if it came across like that. Sophie

Totally agree about the canned foods being full of rubbish, but we have been totally changed with Natures Gift, it is all totally natural with no preservatives or fillers. What it says on the can is in the can. with Tilly we have noticed a big change in her weight and also coat condition. They have dry food and treats as well and it is the same as the tinned all natural. My fav thing about this company is that it is also all Australian. We all need to make sure our babies are getting a well balanced diet that is suitable for them. Sophie

We had the same problem with Tilly she would turn her ose up at most dog foods, it was as if I has an extra person as I was making her a meal for dinner with us so she would eat. This got way out of hand so we hunted and asked a few friends what they feed their fussy dogs and most came up with the same answer. Natures Gift tinned and dry food, so we slowly introduced it as it does not have any fillers and the sudden change of food can be disasterous. she is now eating at every meal and the bowl is clean in a matter of minutes. It can't hurt to give it a try they make small trays and the large cans. I get mine in Woolworths, but I have seen it in Coles and our local IGA. Sophie

Hi we have just been using a new one that we pickup in Woolworths calld Biogestion 5 made by Natures Gift - it is all natural and preservative free. Tilly just loves it and can't get enough, we have to cut back on the amount of dry we feed her as the food is meat based with rice and she seems to not require as much her dry skin is no longer and she is in great health - when speaking tothe vet he also said it is a great all natural brand to use so we have moved her over to their cans as well. it comes in a 4kg bag for $18 and lasts alot longer than the other brands. Hi Ringworm is a nasty thing to get, have had it with our cat before touch wood the dog never got it even though they are best friends. We used selsun gold on the area - rubbed it on and let it dry it worked wonders. hope all goes well for you all - we got told by our vet that we had to quaranitine ourselves for 4-6 weeks until it was all cleared up. Looking For The 'tastiest' Dry Dogfood
TillyandCC replied to Stitch's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hi my name is Sophy and I am new to this group. We got a sample of a new dry food the other day when at the supermarket is is called Biogestion 5 and is made by Natures Gift we gave some to our Cavalier Tilly who absolutely loved it. We were able to get a 1.5kg bag in woolworths for under $7 and it also came in a 4kg bag for I think about $18. Can't hurt to give it a try I read on the pack it is meat based - it was made from chicken and rice. Sophy
