  1. Awesome!! What size did you end up getting again? I will need to order mine very soon before they aren't free to ship anymore Happy Birthday, ST!!! I ordered a 28" RS. Crazy Cresties I think Louis did very well on Saturday
  2. :D :D I got one of them sheepy octopus tugs. The dogs think it's pretty cool. I am still waiting for my Clean Run stuff to arrive Guess what..... my Clean Run order is here.... I should have maybe ordered one size smaller for the cool coat, its a bit long on his back but other than that fits great - if i go for a smaller one I dont think it will fit around the neck as the neck strap does not adjust....

  4. Does anyone know what day the labs are on at the Royal?
  5. I also have IBS but now its junk food that sets me off, some of the worst offenders are fizzy coldrinks and burgers, onions and nuts also cause me a lot of pain.
  6. YUMMY! They look very morish. Don't see Jenna doing great, there is something about that dog and long drops on grass, she just has to roll and have a back scratch. Grrr! I'm sure one of your cookies will make me feel better. Lol - so you take her in the ring for obedience Ozjen?
  7. Bayswater is closest ;) Let me know if you want a lift from there and I can pick you up. I am looking for a professional photographer to take pics of Mason, I have enquired with a few, their studio sessions are cheap but then buying the canvases etc is so pricey I am just going to go with a photographer who does the normal prints and not the fancy stuff for now... Try Diana at animalinfo she is brilliant Yes she is brilliant! Mas, she was the photographer at the retrieving trial at Northam. Nice lady and her website is full of fantastic photos Do you have a link for her site?
  8. Anthistamines work but at certain times of the year ( like now) some allergic dogs only get relief using a bit of cortisone - mine is one of those.
  9. They have them at a shop at Hillarys Boat Harbour, dont know the name but its the shop that sells Crocs...
  10. There is a nice GSD in our class she also does tracking...... Would love a photo shoot Rach, your pics are lovely. Jenni who did the photo's for you?
  11. I think the dropping in sit stays is like a virus - it seems catching All i can say is that my perseverance with my dog paid off, I was just about ready to give up with sit stays but he seems to get the fact that he must SIT and not lay down in a sit stay now We are class 3 now which is a trial class so we had better pull our socks up - I have been doing quite a bit of work this week with Mason.

  13. Mas Spartan gets Natural Balance not Nutro unfortunately - he woudln't be able to have the Nutro because of the chicken fat (to this day for the life of me i cannot think why they would add a completely different fat/flavour to a specifically flavoured biscuit ;)) however before natural balance he had Advance turkey and rice which i think did have some chicken fat/flavour in it and he seemed to do fine on it... i found the alternative in natural balance however if i didn't have that i'd be feeding advance... if that's the case, perhaps Mason will be able to tolerate a small amount in the Nutro biscuit. You can only try it and see, like everything else!! I thought I had gotten something mixed up lol think I will give his Nutro to his mate and try some Natural Balance at a later stage, I dont like Advance, gave us loads of tummy problems for some reason. I have to watch kibble very carefully, he does a lot of bum scooting on kibble...
  14. Hi there, I take it from your original post that you are from RSA? I was from there myself, been here 2 years now. I have a similar problem with my lab, he humps most large breed male dogs that are younger than him - I tell him off each time he does it and he does seem to be doing it less and less. Dont know what else I can do to be honest. Edited to add that I had ridgebacks before my lab and I battled to get their attention off other dogs - with my lab I am able to get him a lot more motivated with food than I could with the ridgies.
  15. ST - I remember you telling me that Spartan eats Nutro Lamb and Rice i think it is?? Mason won some over the weekend ( 2 bags) and I see that it has chicken fat in it? I can't remember if Spartan was allergic to chicken, if he is does the fat not affect him? I would like to have a bit of kibble in the cupboard for nights like tonight when I have no veggies to go with his meat ( I must now go to the shop)
  16. It is the time of year for sure, I have been talking to the doggie people at the park and many of them are saying their dogs are scratching a lot more right now. Is Mason on anything for it? Steroids or antihistamines? He is on antihistamines permanently and steroids for 2 days when he has a flare, he came off them on sunday but I emailed the derm this morning and she is going to work out a schedule for him, it may be on one every 2 days or 2 days on and 2 days off etc, we will see. I HATE using cortisone but when he is crying because he is so itchy and its the only thing that helps and so I just give it to him, he is on a very low dose 5mg 2x a day when he is on it so i guess its not too bad and it wont be forever.
  17. I will be there - I have 2 weeks training to cram into 1 night - last session before Soggy's debut :D Oooohhh is her debut at Bunbury??? I am so bummed that I cannot make it down - first week in new class though so I better attend ;) How are Bean's allergies? Mason is having a huge meltdown, his life is a misery atm.
  18. My dog licks his paws badly - he has allergies, food and atopic dermatitis.
  19. I heard that they keep snakes away which is why I have not discouraged Bob from living here with us
  20. Mason growls and shakes when he sees a bobtail, the first time one was in the yard i freaked out as he was laying on his bed growling and shaking, thought he was having some kind of fit...... my cats are even too scared to catch a bobtail He was braver this time when it came inside..
  21. Well I don't know when he'll be down on the ground. Will have to check with the breeders about the vaccination regime they go with but I will probably buck the rules a little and get him socialised (selectively) from after his second vaccination. I have talked to other breeders who do the same thing and they say it's a balance between getting that early socialisation which they feel is so important and protecting the puppy from parvo etc. Mason had his second vaccination at 10 weeks ( think it was a C5) it was a new one in that you dont have to have them vaccinated again until 12 months later, that way he was being socialized from 12 weeks...it worked out well. Some people recon 10 weeks is too early for them to retain the immunity but just had titre tests done and he is all covered so there goes that myth....
  22. Mason used to hump his soft toys ( well air hump really when he was playing with them) he has not done it in ages though..... but now at parks etc he will try him male dogs that are younger than him - I cant stand it and tell him off every time!
