  1. I recently had my 20mth old GSD visit the dermatologist. In the end it would have been cheaper to have gone there right from the beginning instead of persisting with the vet for the last 18mths and spending $2000 on drugs, special diets, creams etc, guessing whether it was skin, food or environmentally related Yip I agree, paid the vet loads of money and the dog got no relief until we saw a derm. What I would do is just go to the derm for a diagnoses and then take it from there, you dont have to do all the testing etc all at once.
  2. Quick question ( and I apologise to Amypie I have not watched the jumping dvd yet ) methodes to teach a dog to jump, what are they? And I am also looking for some tips on teaching contacts, just curious to find out what other ways there are to teach a dog to do things besides what we are shown in class.
  3. Yes of course, you can just do the weekly classes for something to do. You may find it addictive though and could want to trial, at which point you have to keep reminding yourself that it is 'for fun' because it can be pretty stressful ;) ;) I personally love going to agility training, I look forward to it. I agree Amy, I am so excited every wednesday night to go to agility training but I dread going to obedience class, I am going to only go to obedience class maybe one sunday a month as we learn nothing new now until we get moved to class 3.
  4. Excellent! While I was writing that post this morning she went to her room, took off her nappy, poo-ed on the floor stepped in it then kicked it around. A new puppy wouldn't even be this gross. Maybe I should crate train her? I mean, Wizzle can!! :p She also bites when she's angry, so it really is like having a really naughty dog. ;) at the dining chairs!! Everyone always asks me ' so when you having kids' I always say, no thanks I am happy with just my animals!!
  5. Will be thinking of you ! I know how hard it is, I loved this poem and it really explained exactly how I felt when my horse passed... I ONLY WANTED YOU They say memories are golden well maybe that is true. I never wanted memories, I only wanted you. A million times I needed you, a million times I cried. If love alone could have saved you you never would have died. In life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still. In my heart you hold a place no one could ever fill. If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane, I'd walk the path to heaven and bring you back again. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. Author unknown
  6. A friend of ours has a ragdoll, I am seeing her on sunday, I could ask her then if you can take some pictures ?
  7. Rach Mason can help you out with the lab pics if you need a black lab too, I could meet up with you saturday...
  8. My labs resting heart rate is low 50's, my vet says he must be very fit and I think he is as I exercise him daily. He is 34Kg and 15 months old.
  9. Hey what about poor Millie and Mason, they just cant crack the nod can they they are going to have a complex soon, poor things.
  10. Mason just adored Kara, we will have to get them together again sometime
  11. I loved that yellow girl Cara that Mason enjoyed playing with, she is very cute :D
  12. Lol Mason was well behaved after the first 2,5hrs of running around, he then started to listen - hyper boy at first and its not like he had no walk yesterday, he went to Perrys Paddock for an hour with Rach and Buddy.
  13. He is fine, was zooming around after his bath - asleep now tho
  14. Great photo's Rach!!! Mason is now fast asleep on the bed after an eventful car ride home lol.
  15. Did you spy me there . I can't I'm going to Araluen for breakfast at 10am. Have fun everyone! Yes I did spy you, thought you were maybe coming online to get the details so that you could come down Have a good breakfast.
  16. Valley if you had to meet my ridgebacks you would be shocked ( no chance of it happening tho as they are back in africa). They both dont listen but Gabby is far naughtier than Vick, at 11 they cant loose lead walk to save their lives or do a recall, the one also hates every dog besides Vicky ( and she sometimes even hates her too)!! Mason is very different to both of them, he has put me off ever owning bitches again even though I know I am at fault as I was not a leader to my other dogs, I did not know any better.
  17. I am not bringing hubby he has a golf game on tomorrow.... Are you saying your hubby is strange? valley... 10am He can be a little strange at times he is annoying the ^&^%0 out of me tonight as he is busy having a tantrum ironing his golf pants, I cant iron so I have told him to do his own pants
  18. I am not bringing hubby he has a golf game on tomorrow....
  19. I am more interesting in the cake and caramel slice For a brief moment I did think about bringing all 5 but have decided 2 might be a better number. Do we bring balls/toys/i-squeaks or is it best not to? The toys usually come out. Which is why I am leaving Millie at home, she thinks she owns every toy, whether or not it was me who brought the toy along or not P.S. who are the lucky 2? I wont bring toys if you want to bring Millie, Mason has no interest in toys around other dogs anyway...
  20. Lol lets hope it works like that for us humans too !!
  21. I normally drive to Warwick to catch Mitchell Freeway so its not that out the way.... just send me a PM with your address if you would like to bring him and I can fetch you. You can just take some extra photo's of Mason for me
  22. Awww Rach I think your Buddy and Rubystar's Chloe would make such a cute pair Mason loved Buddy, and Buddy is a real sweetie pity that he cant come with tomorrow....if you really wanted him to come I could swing past and fetch you guys if he would sit on your lap as Mason would harrass him the whole way if i put him in the back with him.
  23. Hmm Amypie now I am worried my dogs can sniff out water from 1000m and I have visions of Beans chasing duck down Leach Hwy ;) Strauss is 12 1/2 weeks old - he leave Oslo on Monday and touches down in Perth just after 2pm on Wednesday. I feel like I should be posting this in the pregnancy thread - I feel like an expectant mother :D Do I need to be a stake with me tomorrow Ptolomy its safe for the water, Mason has never found the lake there so I recon you guys are safe, Mason will find water 1000's of meters away ( like he did today hey Rach) but he has never found any water at Piney Lakes
