  1. You are braver than me, I would be way too embarrassed to train right near a shop besides Mason would do NO work , he is too easily distracted
  2. My poor dog does not get a very balanced diet as he has allergies, at the moment he is living off roo and lamb with veggies and fruit, he also gets fish oil and evening primrose oil, suprisingly he does way better even on these limited ingredients then he ever did on kibble. Guess what I am trying to say is that most dogs do well on raw, it is good to also add some organ meat in ( I do heart and liver) but I dont add it in every week. Not sure what others do?
  3. We got a good Deal through the Good Guys but we bought everything, from toaster to fridge and we payed cash. What our mate did is he got a quote from Good Guys ( printed one) and then went to Harvey Norman and said give me a better quote than this ( they did) he then went back to Good Guys with his Harvey Norman quote and got even better prices - dont be afraid to haggle!!
  4. I am not competing at trials yet only doing club competitions as my dog is not ready - I guess I want to compete because it gives me something to focus on working towards, I think my dog quite likes to work and do what I ask of him - when I watch the videos he looks quite happy to trot along beside me
  5. We had a lesson today - it went well, first sit stay he did lie down about 40 seconds into it, but the second time we did it he stayed sitting. Heelwork was ok but focus could have been a lot better than it was ( I am trying to get him to play when he loses focus so that he gets more energy but he was a bit flat today). Not his best work today but parts of it were good. Will put up the link when I have finished uploading the video to Utube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdhOxOxSj3o I dont know how to edit vids etc so it is a bit long winded!
  6. Yeah but it's a shame that she didn't win one. Since the trial was rosettes by donation only amypie (and now me ) feel like donating one. My dad would have TOTALLY lost it had they handed us a trophy/rosette that day. It was the first time he'd really seen her in the ring and first time seeing presentations, he was proud as punch and close to tears! He would have totally lost it if she won something Aww how nice is your dad? And I loved the way he asked why can't Millie go to, he just doesnt want her to feel left out
  7. I also cant believe there is no obedience at the Western Classic
  8. WOuld love to offer advice etc but I am North so no idea of pup schools down south and I have never had a chihuaha, nor do I know if anyone with one.
  9. Sorry Rach I dont know of anyone at the moment looking for a dog... why will the RSPCA not take him?
  10. They put up posters outside our local library, there is a yellow female lab around 4 years old looking for a home, a family adopted her from a shelter for their teenage son who does not want her anymore, she looks lovely, I would take her but hubby has said a firm NO again :D
  11. Made this for my horse... Cant seem to get the link right for Smilebox...
  12. I have loads of pics of Mason - I went overboard for the first little while and now havent taken any in ages I love my boy so much, out of all the pets I have had he is my favorite, I never had a connection with the others like I do with him Lovely pic ST and nice slideshow RS, I make my slideshows on smilebox, only way I know how lol.
  13. My ridgebacks used to eat grapes, this was back in the day when no one knew any better - they used to eat all sorts of things that are now known to harm dogs - have stomachs made of cast iron
  14. You have to laugh at some people when they train their dogs - but it is because they dont know better We have had great work from Mason this week - dont know if its because he has basically had a scratch free week for some reason ( I have no clue what it is.... it cannot be the immunotherapy kicking in yet???) but I am very happy with him - SHOCK, HORROR, we are even doing sit stays - which means he will be ready for the club comp on the 12th, I am even now hoping for a pass
  15. Lovely clip Valley, I know how you must be feeling, I had my horse that I had had for over 12 years PTS in July, I miss him loads but I know we will meet again some day
  16. Valley - thinking of you and Lilly, let us know how she goes on her new meds
  17. There was a thread in general the other day about cheap soft crates - see if you can find it - they were dirt cheap! Thanks, I found some cheapies on Topbuy. Now just to decide which size to get! My current one is too big so ideally I'd like to sell that one and get two of the size just under that one. But I like my current one, it's covered over which Millie needs and from what I can see, the top buy ones have mesh sides with no cover Mas, yours is from there isn't it? Is it covered with flaps or not? I might borrow yours if you don't mind, I want it for the Royal so I don't have to lug my wire one in. Thanks for the offer! I'll chat to you later about it Edit: looks like the green top buy ones do have flaps that cover the mesh over, great! Might order one Yes they do, mine is from there, I like the fact that the mesh can be open or closed by the flaps, its why we ended up with the one we did. BTW I will be coming to watch you at Royal miss Katie!!
  18. Great news, the warts have all but gone now anyway so he would not be contagious if we make it down
  19. Tiggy I was the same, I stopped competing with my horse as I just did not enjoy it ( neither did the horse) and I also stopped because the people were just too competitive and were so nasty to one another.
  20. Aww how frustrating for you both, this type of thing will probably happen to me a few times too as Mason has to scratch when we are on any grass
  21. Not looking to sell but I could lend you mine if you need it for a specific day etc?
  22. On second thoughts not sure if I should bring Mason, he does have these warts which are contagious to dogs with weakened/compromised immune systems - saying that though he would have been contagious at the last DOL meet as they have it in their system for about 2 months before the warts come out..... I would hate to infect anyones dog even though they are not dangerous and do go away on their own.
