We absolutely need to know the breed and see pictures of the puppy when possible. The books agility right from the start or shaping success come to mind.

Oh exciting! Was it Flossie? (An older deadgrass girl)

Your girls aren't showdogs so nobody is sitting here critqueing them (except me nah not really, I was just looking at some OES babies though ST's Charlie is such a good dad) I also think having them stacked properly would have made a difference to the pics for evaluation purposes. Anyway off to bed. New job is awesome BTW! And Ptolomy thanks 1000x for organizing this Clean Run order with YOUR present! I will shout your $4 extra for postage

Congratulations!!!! Your boys are looking stunning. Let's hope Rebus gets that BIG next time

Don't show that google maps photo to the show people, they will see just how much bigger our oval is and want to trade :D I think the bindi's will scare them off again (I need my show puppy, so I can wear the show/performance hat and nobody can tell me off for making jokes like that ) I am home from work in my lunch break I was all awesome I can duck home and entertain the dogs... but they just want to sleep I don't know if I will be there tonight so Ptolomy your freshly washed jumper will have to wait. ;) Unless you really need it, then I can come.

How We Got Started Competing In Dog Sports....
RallyValley replied to ness's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
When I was 14 I got this little guy from a pet shop (I know ) I knew enough to know Jack needed to go to puppy classes, so we did the local puppy obedience offered through the RSPCA and Jack was the star of the class. He was so quick to learn everything and would try his hardest just to please me. Plus he was such a little socialite. The instructor mentioned agility to me and made me a list of all the local dog clubs. I did lots of work at home with him and when he was old enough me and Jack took the test to get into Perth's foundation agility class. We passed And our dog sport obsession began when I was 15 and he was just 1. However I obviously didn't have my licence and come year 11 my parents wanted me to concentrare on school so we had a break from agility. Once I was settled into Uni life I felt ready to go back to agility, however within a couple of weeks of making this decision my angel dog for the first and last time jumped over our front fence and ran across the road to say hi to another dog at peak hour and was hit by a car. RIP Jack Toby was my next agility dog and at 9 weeks he broke his leg, and although he got to trialling and even trialled at nationals I had doubts about his soundness that were confirmed recently and he was retired. But it's just the start of out rally-o and tracking careers. -

Toby 'leaks' like this. When it happens we express his anal glads and we are good for a few months. -

Getting Serious And Charging Appropriately
RallyValley replied to rocco's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
I have to comment here. When I first got my SLR like 12mths ago I took it to my cousins birthday party and from the close to 80 shots that day one or two were decent. All were shot on auto. When I gave the few shots to the mum of the child she was like "You should sell these, they are great" and luckily my dad was a bit of a SLR junkie back in the day and was like 'Don't be an idiot, these are crap shots'. After close to 12 months auto shooting I have recently started shooting in manual mode and focusing manually. Needless to say my photographic standards have taken a dive but now I am actually learning to how take a good photo, not how to point my camera and press a button. I don't think my work will ever be good enough to warrant commercial sale but at least now I am educated better then to be stupid enough to try. -

Different/unusual Breeds In Dog Sports
RallyValley replied to huski's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
An 11 mth English Setter passing it's first obedience trial in Sweden (with some nice heelwork! :p ) There are a handful of schutzhund titled Chessies and one lady who had taken a couple of her dogs to the top level of the sport in the states. There is also one Chessie breeder that owns a Cattle ranch and swears by his Chessies for herding, there is actually a sort of small cult following for Chessie's as herding dogs -
Yay Ange!!! It was the same show I met him at last weekend and I had my own puppy in, this year has just gone too fast!

You are going to have loads of dogs soon, you keep saying you're going to get such and such breed ;) This coming from someone who said no more puppies for them for ages ;) I'd love an ES but yes I want a competition dog as well as a breed I would love to live with, so the ES has to wait until I just want a big doofy lap dog (big and doofy is meant in the most adored sense, of course! :D) With the right trainer, I think an ES could do great things, but I'm not that trainer If I get an ES it won't be for ages and ages and ages, I will have my own house by then. ;) I don't know anyone who would be offended by an ES being described as a big doofy lap dog.

Last one RS promise and the follow up The first link is 9mth old ES Pi doing heelwork and the second is Pi's first obedience trial at 11mths.
-
I am going to have an ES bed warmer one day when ST has a litter. ES would be hard to have if you were expecting one for a competition (other then showing ) dog, but it would be great to have one and do other stuff as an added bonus. ;)

RIP Angelsun. You must be so proud of your boy.
