An LM is a Large Munsterlander I hate studying chemistry and live human bio based subjects but only 2 years (and a little bit) and I will be graduated and can do my masters in something non chemistry related Ooh, I havent met a Large Munsterlander!! Would love to though, they are gorgeous! What are your studies working towards?? A degree of some sort Im assuming?? I am just under halfway through a Molecular Genetic degree. Its a bit of a pointless degree really, but it opens up quite a few postgrad specilaty degrees ;)

Hmm will have to bring out a full arsenal of other things and see what he responds best to. -
Endurance Test 2011 Thread
RallyValley replied to TerraNik's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I will if someone will write out a training plan... for jogging it! I honestly think it's a toss up which would be harder!!! Get Toby over his fear of bikes or get me fit enough to run that far! -
Agility Training Talk Thread
RallyValley replied to Vickie's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I am fairly sure next year I am getting a loan dog to train in agility! He is very food driven and a red head but I don't want to play tug with him, does anyone know of any handlig methods/training books/dvd's that don't revolve around tug? -
Here is Toby's session from tonight. It's pretty obvious that he is way smater then me and after watching I realised I need to reward fronts from both hands, go back and reward smaller increments of heelwork and use softer treats.
-
I very very highly doubt Toby will ever see the inside of an obdience ring, let alone a UDX one. But it will be good for me to learn how to teach a kick back stand.

The prefix I am going to use if I get into the breed I want next is a word that is very similar to my mum's Italian maiden name, and a Greek word for people who come from the region of Germany the dog originated from. Plus it is short.

Go on I know you are getting Classy! ;) :p Nope. She is going to a great performance home in SA. The woman already has a red merle Aussie and does flyball with her dogs, and she is now a FB friend so I can keep up to date with how little Classy matures Oh and her name is now Scarlett Which is one of the many maybes I had on my own puppy name list Thats a shame I just did a video of me and Toby doing some obedience work and I feel like ;) a little! I just realised that I have been only rewarding him on the left for fronts so he is coming in on my left. I also realised doing obedience in the bushy paddock in thongs is probably a stupid idea ... and there are ants up there so Toby wouldn't down and was all sneezy. ;) ETA- but I realised that the old gate posts make perfect figure of 8 posts!!!

OMG I killed the thread!! Tonight I had my first proper session of shaping the dumbell with Toby using Shirley's method. I am also curious - how have other people taught thier dog stand?

An LM is a Large Munsterlander :D I hate studying chemistry and live human bio based subjects but only 2 years (and a little bit) and I will be graduated and can do my masters in something non chemistry related Never heard of them sorry. I havent used a boarding kennel for 10 years though. Go on I know you are getting Classy! ;)

So sorry for your loss fetchingdawgs :D And good on you for doing the right thing with that obese little chihuahua CC. 2011 goals- Continue working on Toby for his anxiety, smart socialization and maybe some obedience/Rally. Plus continue to learn about training dogs and dog body language and behaviour. Title Cider and Strauss (this is a joint goal with Ptolomy I think... only she dosent know it ;) ) Improve my handling. Keep learning about structure and function of gundog breeds. Save as much as I can for Europe/Crufts 2012 (and keep fingers crossed Charlie qualifys!) Meet a LM again! And some personal ones; finish the year with distinctions in all subjects, conquer my arch enemy - Chemistry , improve eating + fitness + keep off the weight/lose more :D, improve my photography, finally learn some more Italian so I can speak with my nonno (late 80's), zia (mid 60's) and zio(early 70's) in thier mother tounge as they age.... so not much. Better get off DOL now and get some stuff done

I shoot with Olympus and love it. Have a good hard look at all the brands For $800 I can get a pro quality 12-60mm lens. The bodies of the Olympus range are the lightest and there at used e30's going for a song since the new e5 came out. I mostly shoot outdoors and wildlife/sports, this is a field that Olympus really excels. With quite a few top photographers using them. My two cents - just because the majority uses Canon/Nikon does not mean that this is right for you.

The police won't get involved as it's a civil matter - property division after a relationship break down.

Excited to see all her hairstyles throughout the year.

Um Isnt Showing A Desexed Bitch Wrong?
RallyValley replied to Missymoo's topic in General Dog Discussion
Quick question. :p How do you know the bitch is desexed and that you aren't just hearing malicious gossip? -
I will be doing 2011 with Toby, here is his link http://www.flickr.com/photos/46087317@N04/...57625561052471/ Looking forward to playing with my new camera and part way through the year I will be getting new lenses, so that will be fun too! :p

Ptolomy- Glad to hear the kids (red and actual ) are ok! If you need a hand shout out and I am sure those of us not suffering from overindulgence would be willing to come down and lend a hand. Out shed is in pieces and scattered around the back yard and I will have to retrieve my agility tunnel from next door. But there was so much choas last night I think our family was pretty lucky. That picture of Toby shows his iSqueak face :D

Now I am just spamming this thread. No post editing done on this lot either. (Can you tell I am so excited to play with my new toy?) All taken with kit lens 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 Zuiko ED (for those non 4/3's users that equivalent of 28-84mm) They are all taken at the house my brother now owns and he wanted me to 'take pictures of it for him'. Forgot one I really like;

I have a new toy I hope everyone is having a good day and none of you call into my work tonight
-
I am :D You will be seeing LOTS more ;) I just need to figure out what I am doing and then they will be good. ;) Merry Christmas DMA! Two kelpie photos just for you! I can't believe how much better the quality is. The one of Toby's face you can even see really clearly what is reflected in his eyes. These two were shot with my 40-150mm lens and the first two pics were shot with the 14-42mm lens.

Ok so I brought this camera fron a DOLer so I thought it was only fair to share. I had literally had it less then 5 minutes when I took these and I started work at 10pm last night and finished at 6am this morning so I am not my sharpest Proud to say that they are all taken in manual and I have made a vow not to use auto on this camera I am too tired to do any post processing so they are all as shot. These two are my favs ;) This is of my 86 year old nonno. It's hard to get a nice picture of him Except the water bottle in this one annoys me. Will have to crop later.
