Thanks VAN. I saw on your website you have stopped puppy packs, do you think they will be being offered again in future? Was hoping to send all my pups home with one :) -

Vets All Natural - Perfect Puppy Nutrition
RallyValley replied to Dr Bruce Syme's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Would you recommend switching a pregnant bitch to your puppy formula? And if so would you use the same ratio as adult food or use the puppy ratio for her weight. -
I did my ultrasound day 28. As excited as I was we only have one really great Repro vet in Perth and it's quite far from me so I didn't want to have to go back because I went too early. I was really happy with the vet that did the scan, he was very through and spent ages quadruple checking the count. He saw 5 pups, which is average sized for a Brittany.

Is This Normal Behaviour For A Dog ...
RallyValley replied to Crits'N'Bits's topic in General Dog Discussion
When Tony died Zora was depressed for about a month. We just treated her like normal an she slowly came good again. We also used DAP for her. They were quite strongly bonded though. I think the key is just to let them deal with it... -
In 2013 I am not going to be too ambitious because Zora and I will be having part of the year off for a litter ( :D ). Here are my goals: -Finish RN Title -Aim for RA (maybe even RE) On hold for a little bit, waiting till I am happier with her work. -Enter CCD I tried but then a season got in the way. Should get this one even if it is CCD NFC by the end of the year. -Get ready for trialling in agility early 2014 Still aiming for 2014 :p Lastly this is a BIG maybe... -Enter a UG Field Trial Not going to happen now, since Zora has missed the whole season due to being in season then pregnant. I also achieved an unexpected goal, I started to play around with tracking and Zora has already passed her track one. I'm hoping to get her track 2 by the end of the season. May to go Murve ;)

You can now add me to the list :) As confirmed by ultrasound the first litter of Astrelis Brittany's is due the 14th of July.

Thinking About My Next Breed... Shortlist Now Chosen!
RallyValley replied to kiwifeathers's topic in General Dog Discussion
Ah awesome, that's good to know thanks. I read they can be quite high energy, again I was told repeatedly to have a good long look at them hence why they are on the list, I guess as the "wildcard" haha. I wouldn't have a problem with high energy as long as with plenty of exercise the dog wasn't still going mental in the house. If Brittany's are that loopy then perhaps I might take them off the shortlist and put one of my other near miss breeds on it. The Brittany's temperament sounds lovely, they sound like sweet dogs. I'd probably give obedience and agility a go with both the Lagatto and Brittany, maybe even the Pharaoh if it was one of those that was into that sort of thing, I know some are more than others. My Brittany is fine with a decent walk each day and some mental stimulation. I have only met one Brittany I consider loopy and it's quite possible that dog was a reflection of the owner... I do obedience and train for agility with my Brittany, they are made for it! You will hear/read lots of things about French/American lines, usually that information is heavily biased depending on who wrote it. It's really sad there is misinformation out there that American lines are only for 'show/pet' when Americans have produced 614 dual (show & field) champions and the only dual champion (show and field) dogs in Aus have been predominately American lines. The stud dog I recently used is all American lines and a state field trial winner, beating a national winner for the title. I have literally run my girl in the field one morning and then gone to a show that evening (after a bath!).t The coat care for a Brittany is minimal however you can do some grooming for the ring. Mentally and physically Britts are just about as sound as they come, breeders should do hips, elbows, heart and eyes though. They have an average lifespan of 14 and I have heard of quite a few living to 18 or 19. Socialised well they are very happy to meet strange dogs and people and get along with pretty much everything. They are more laid back then a lot of other gundog breeds. -
Retrieving & Field Training Talk
RallyValley replied to RubyStar's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Not much happening for me but I went out weekend before last as a spectator at the Inaugural Pointer and Setter ANKC trial in WA. -
Still jealous Mirawee ;). Time is going so slow now I have an ultrasound booked for Zora next week...
-
Nothing much. She has been acting a bit more clingy then usual and has been off her food for the last few days. I noticed today she has a kind of bluish hue around her nipples and she seems to have a little more of a belly. However I might be wishing these things. Going to get her scanned early next week, save my mental health!!
-
I've booked my scan in for early next week. Soooooo nervous. Glad to see others joining in, going to be an exciting month.
-
That looks so cool Mirawee! I already miss space . Can't believe how big Liss is already
-
Such an awesome achievement Sandi and Scoota! You guys are inspirational, knowing the health trouble Moo went through a while ago his bounce back is amazing.
-
Zoras been known to refuse dry food but is even turning her nose up at canned food right now. She will have a few mouthfuls of anything and that's it. Really not looking forward to the later part where they get even pickier!!
-
Waiting here too. Had a madam that is a bit off her food and finicky. Should know next week...
-
These DOLers are a high achieving bunch ;). Congratulations everyone. Not much happening for me, taking things a bit slow because Zora has been mated but she passed her Track 1 last week.
-
This happened for me, maiden bitch and dog. She was standing but he trying half-heartedly was just fluffing around. A few days later when prog showed she was spot on his attitude changed and they tied very quickly. It might not be time yet...
-
That's awesome! Way to go!!
-
How exciting!! Please join me in here Oso :) Did you mate Rommi and Lewis?
-
We had a second tie about 48hrs later. So just the two matings. Now is just the hard part - waiting and crossing our fingers!!
