Yes James will come It will be fun to have two again, not sure I will do any training with him though
-
Is this the main oval opposite the post office? If you can handle a 5 min drive and want to train out of school hours the oval at Helena Valley primary is good, close shady parking and laid out so you cab easily see people coming.

I have an English setter! (For a few weeks anyway) Take your time Ari (lol)... Is there training on tonight? (I don't like this new dol on mobiles) :S
-
This book is good, it is a guide of how to raise a well trained pup and a good base for agility or obedience later on. http://www.cleanrun.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=2502&ParentCat=449

I pity the rest of the people in WA that have lives and will have to trawl through all these pages tomorrow :D Nano is cute... You have to get a Pap now before someone steals the idea ;)
-
Wow! Then all you will need is a Gr. CH IRWS and you will have the full set :D Make sure to post a big brag when Zinger get's it, it's such an honour.

BC's are too smart for thier own good! I need a dog that I am smarter then (egotistical I know ) Well done! He is having such a good run over there, you must be very proud. :D He would have or be very close to his Grand now right? Yeah... but her drunk was old ;) I don't mean the part where he died, I mean the part where SHE died Oh! Well lesson 1 - stay off drugs ;)
-
Yeah... but her drunk was old :D

I have had a midget BC(ish) before... he was too special Plus I already brought some dokkens so thats like $80 down the drain if I got a herding breed ;) Yeah he does. One is an alcoholic, the other is unemployed. Which one do you want? RV can have the other Hmm the unemployed one is unemployed because he is so much richer then your brother that he does not need to work and the alcoholic has so much more money then both the brothers he can afford to drink all day and will drink himself to an early grave, leaving you rich aka Anna Nicole Smith style .

DWD queen is awarded along the principal 'The lady doth protest too much, methinks'... ;) Yes the smaller the dog is the less at counts - and even the future lab or aussie has about 6 months until it's the size of a real dog ;) Name your pap Nano! I can give you lots of bacteria names But none are very pretty or pronouncable.

Not true... Border Terriers are adorable Maybe if Earthdog comes to WA?
-
That would be better then the lotto. ;) Very creative Ptolomy It is... I am planning to kidnapp Strauss and Trixie for a brace DWD routine that amypie coreographed for us :D
-
I am getting a new car window next week :D But that's not really exciting (except to me cause I haven't had a car all week)
-
No time for guys!! (Unless I find RS's fabled millionare and then I can quit work and focus on uni ) And no money for a house (especially when saving for my USA trip) :D You lot and your guesses! ETA - this is why you record all the shows during the week cause you won't possibly have time to watch them (studying) and have a marathon session Friday evening (post mircobiology test celebration ;) )
-
That's not exciting news! That would be news :D ! Thanks for the info WX
-
:D I don't have off topic Ptolomy so no news there. Not lotto either ;) I don't want to curse anything before I have definate news, will keep everyone posted as I know. Is there any dog things on tomorrow?
-
YAY! Seems like we are getting good news all around. So glad to hear Ptolomy and Emery. ETA - And for you too Ness.. (and also for me - nothing to report yet but I MAY have some exciting news) Can't spell today - too much microbiology

I've never seen Wellness in Australia before. In terms of ingredients, Wellness used to be my top favourite and I looked around trying to find it for a while - but I like Artemis more now; Earthborn also looks better to me, which is why i'm eager to get my hands on it. Either way, those definately make my list of top #3!(I may be wrong, and if they do import wellness then i'd like to trial that stuff out as well!) Agility Club of WA is now a distributor for the state

I plan to do more then I can actually fit in At the moment I have one dog that I train for obedience trials, I did have him competing in agility but withdrew him due to lameness. We also go to remedial socialization classes as well as obedience classes. I have shown dogs and will be getting a showdog again in the future. I am handling a friends Tollers in the show ring. I am being schooled in how to do Open stays for another friend and will be doing some NFC rounds with her lab. I try to watch shows, agility trials and obedience trials where I have a day off when my schedule allows, plus if you are there you are sure to be used as a steward, cameraman, jackpot holder, canopy set up help ect. Plus I am trained in the theory of show stewarding, just have to sit the prac. Have also had the pleasure of doing a mock Rally -O round with a very nice score with a 14 year old, mostly retired Obedience Ch. (Forgot about Rally-O am training my boy for that to so we can get his RN when that comes in next year :D ) I am always reading training theory, canine structure, genetics, breed based materials ect. I usually have a dog book (or 3) on the go constantly. I am studying for a degree in Molecular Genetics but am a bit unsure where I will go with that... there are some interesting honours projects at Uni in regards to colour genetics (in alpacas ).. but I love genetics. I also work 6 full days a fortnight and every weekend which limits dog stuff ;)
-
Is that all? It seems like longer, must be all the DWD training you do with Trixie that keeps her young. I must admit I get bored at training having only the one, I put Toby into the car to space out his training and then watch everyone else or volunteer to do SFE for people

As someone who has never trialled a dog in obedience my input is probably not that helpful but if this was my dog I might try this... I would use a 4' leash, then when she is doing great on that and not trying to run off in distracting enviroments use a 6' leash (starting from the easy enviroments and working up) and then use a long line... then maybe start randomally clipping and unclipping the leash slowly increasing the duration of time offleash. What is she running to? Dogs? People? Just around?
