Hint hint RV, you must swamp us with photos in the coming weeks!!! ;) I already have 18 pictures from the same set that one I posted earlier came from and should get new ones every week. Are you sure RS? You don't need another breed to fall in love with

Awesome post! I have an example of how we can drum up numbers, when I first joined this forum I put up a thread asking about when a show was next on in WA. I had many WA DOLers respond with helpful responses and then on the day of the show I hung out with a group of them, and saw one of thier dogs go RUIG! :D They were so nice and welcoming, and the showing seemed so fun, I was so excited to show my own pup. Then when said puppy arrived I already had people at the show I knew, which everyone here knows, is part of what makes shows! I have seen it on DOL quite a few times that this happens. :D Another small one would be instead of having to go to the office to collect place in class and bob ribbons maybe the judge could hand them out with a box for stewards to collect them back. As a newb these ribbons made me excited, I had something to show my family when I got home.

Especially since they will both end up with the nickname Zee ;) I almost had a Hallie or Lacy. But then my brother got an Ellie and I realised that Lacy is too girly and suits a more butch breed.

Nope sorry, might keep this one to myself for the time being because it's a silly one and I may change my mind :p For the call name though, I keep thinking up American names for some reason. I am liking Hank or Hudson currently for my boofy yellow Lab boy of the future Me and a friend were talking boy dog names the other day. I love these names for boy dogs Bronx, Brooklyn, Oxford, Cambridge, Knox, London. (My dad is calling ST's James Albert, and I think it actually suits him a litte bit ;) ) I also like the name Slugger or Slug and was trying to talk my bro into getting a Frenchie and calling it that. I had so many girls names shortlisted and in the end pulled it out of a hat

So you're saying that a registered breeder should have no control over what happens with their dogs. Just let anyone breed from them or show a dog that is not a good representation. The dog may be healthy but not ideal for breeding or showing, You can call them control freaks but these people are trying to protect the quality of purebred dogs, to the benefit of pet owners and breeders/showies alike. When they sell the dog, is no longer their dog to make the decisions what happens. When you sell the house, you cant telling new owner what color the front door must be is same thing with the dog and if wanting control of something dont sell it is my thinking? There is good breeders and the ones not having much clue so having the kennel registration and putting two dogs together doesnt meaning they know whats best to call this shot always. I have seen few times in the working dogs very nice male who should be breeding but breeder wont change registration on the dog to main, so this power on the breeder doesnt helping the future of the breed either. Joe Maybe the breeder knows something you don't? Maybe the litter brothers all had an undescended testicle or the hip averages of the rest of litter were way too high ect.

*Prefix* Dawn Lily ? It's pretty. I dunno, I suck at names. Although, I am hoping I can pick my next one and if so, I have one already picked out :D Ohhh do share ;) Like NCIS My name is a Hebrew name too No idea why my Australian/English and Greek/Italian/Slovenian parents chose a Hebrew name though

OMG OMG now THAT makes me go *cluck cluck* and they aren't even Labs ;) Very cute, I do indeed like the orange/white Brittany's (sorry if that isn't the correct colour term). How excited are you, RV?! :D How old are they? Yes it's orange and white (so nice and easy ;) ). I am quietly excited! I will be more excited when exams are done and I am on Uni break getting all the puppy stuff ready and puppy sitting ST's mob :D They are not even a week old and were only 2 days in that picture. There is no litter theme, so I have free reign of show name choice! The prefix is 9 letters, so I have 21 letters (including spaces I think?) to play with, any suggestions? She will be a mostly white bitch, with orange bits. I like the idea of having the word Lily in the name (in reference to my old girl)or white wines (in refence to my nonna who shares a name with the dam and had a wicked sense of humor). ETA- Also call name will be Zora is a Slovenian name that translates to dawn - so maybe dawn theme names too?

Obedience Trialling A Blind Dog
RallyValley replied to Romysaxon's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Yes it's amazing the contrast between what was the top dog at a national obedience trial in the USA and the NZ/UK style you posted Staranis. I think that Lewis is perfectly between the two oso and that would be my personal preference, but on the other hand I don't think any are 'wrong' either -
Just an update... Toby has had a slack few weeks just doing "bites" of training (when I walk past the pantry I grab a few bits of kibble and the clicker and only train until it runs out) but Toby's doodling is coming on great. His heelwork duration is slowly building and is rear end awareness is going great, he had a moment today when he realised the thing we do on the phonebook is the same if we do it on the ground!!! His fronts Not too happy, he is sometimes coming in a bit short and other times stopping so close I am scared he will knock me over. Also no turns yet! Have not had the time to learn the footwork!

My photos are pretty lame at the moment, my glasses were stolen so I have to use live view - can't see down the lens anniek - So sorry to hear about Cowboy He is looking very happy and handsome. Katalily - look at her little feet, love all the textures in the picture Binx- look at your little whippet sitting all tucked in :D Such a little cutie! poocow- love the pyjama shots! They look so comfy! Naomi- Archer is looking so mature!

No advice just want to say well done. It's very inspiring and such a good rep for the breed. They do lots of Rally-O stuff in Tasmania where you can talk to you dog the whole round, maybe have a look into this as something to try also -
Just for you wuffles I googled 'formal sneakers' ;) Here are some more options :D Oddly if you ever decide to try your hand at DWD they would suit that too http://www.amazon.com/True-Religion-Womens-Vernon-Sneaker/dp/B003LO2UNW http://www.drjays.com/shop/P1055460/la-gear/la-gear--light-up-sneakers.html?currency=aud&utm_source=cse&utm_medium=myshopping-au&utm_campaign=LA%20Gear%20Women&utm_content=Footwear&utm_term=1055460%20-%20la%20gear%20%20light%20up%20sneakers http://www.amazon.com/True-Religion-Lace-Up-Fashion-Sneaker/dp/B003LVYYTS/ref=pd_sbs_shoe_2 ETA - I am now seriously considering light up sneakers for night trials for if I ever trial in obdeience and/or agility again

You could do what showies do and get a pair of skechers that are like Mary Janes (kind of) but lightweight and grippy. http://www.skechers.com/style/76446/work-sassies-s-r-impressive/blk

Happy Birthday CC!

I am the compete opposite to most on here. I want to find one breed and settle down. I am hoping my next breed is the one.
-
Question. If a judge gave every class in group to one of two different breeds what would you think of that judge? How about all rare breeds? All numerically strong breeds? What if they gave all the classes in show to dogs in the group they had judged?

Quick update for ST Ari has had 6 pups, looks like more are coming!
-
:p I (badly) trimmed setter feet and got out the phonebook and did some rear end awarness work with Toby.. he had a finally clicked! I know have a dog that will keep his front feet on the phonebook and move his bum around! Is there any particular way you transition this to the ground or will that just too? Hope Wandy is ok, don't you just love when dogs do that and vet's think you are insane.

My car is so messy I didn't even realise some things had been stolen until days/hours later. Plus whats the point of cleaning it until the mess of the new window was fixed
-
Rallyvalley your excuses are getting more and more pathetic! Emery -so glad to hear things are improving Anybody else get their Royal Schedule today??? You got me Ptolomy ;) I am lucky I even have a window! That only came today while I was at work. I got the showing schedule last week and the perfomance schedule Friday. Anyone know anything about the Rally-O demo? Oh and there is also potentially a little Brittany bitch with my name on it that was born on Sat Timed perfectly for semester break puppy. ETA - Sorry to hear about Kenz Ness.... fingers crossed all is well. But from expirence I can tell you I know how awful the back and forth is.

Won't be making it to training tonight... forgot I have to vacum all the broken glass out the back of my car and don't trust I will get it all in this light We have one kelpie x playing with an iSqueak lying next to an ES chewing an empty bottle.
