Awesome idea FHRP Ordering a field training book Thursday and some DVDs in a couple of weeks to prepare for pup. Would love to be able to hear more about your field experiences and pick your brains. -

Why Enter A Young Dog In State Bred, aussie Bred Or Open
RallyValley replied to scolly's topic in General Dog Discussion
In breeds that are coated to put your dog up against similar age/length of coat. For staffords I imagine younger dogs may not be as physically mature i.e less musculature ect. If your dog is large/mature for thier age they may be better off in open ect. Or you may be showing two.dogs the same age and trying to avoid clashes. -
What Aidan said is what I mean. Where will these dogs come from? What will happen when the threat is gone.

Yay Strauss! I will be a bit scarce in here atm because of exams! Have 4 week old Zora pics, she is adorable! No idea how to post them from my phone and unsure when laptop will be fixed.

Supposed to be trialling in CCD nfc next weekend... I am already nervous! I never get nervous before uni tests and exams... Or job interviews ect

Sigh I just wrote a long reply to you SSM and then my computer ate it. So here is the abbreviated version. I think the best solution is to be careful but have faith. After all how does anyone get thier first dog? All breeders here had someone have that faith in them to start with. If the person had intentions to show/ compete in sports ect sell the dog on main but tick those boxes on the back in relation to health testing, age of breeding ect. Not much of a solution is it ;)

There are many breeders out there that are a medium between your two options. I think both options you mention are dangerous to the future of a breed.

Thanks Lotg.

Just saw this on the news!! Seriously that is what the newsreader said 'Police advise single women perhaps buy a dog' What awful advice!

Moose is just the cutest thing! I have always had a soft spot for Berners -
Bedazzled PM'ed me first! Thanks guys :D I am glad how Toby is coming along he is almost back to 100% tonight and I will need to do some training in the morning or he will drive me insane. I also thought I should let those of you who are aware of the situation my nonno passed away yesterday evening.

Anyone know of a place/person that will be able to wash and blowdry Toby at short notice - my back is giving me a bit of grief, Toby is shedding like mad and we have a slightly dog allergic aunt from NZ coming to stay.
-
Thanks for asking Mas he is 86 and has organs are failing so not a very positive prognosis but not unexpected either his health has been going downhill for months.
-
Thanks guys when he had a tooth out in December they were able to just pull it out - this time they have had to go in looking for pieces. I am sure he will seem much brighter once the GA wears off... Sorry for not keeping up with the thread... Between Toby, study for exams, no laptop and my nonno in hospital I am a bit out of it. :S

Toby is home. Poor boy he has quite a few stiches in his gum - the tooth root was quite long and its a massive hole. Looks so sore and the poor thing is a but groggy and confused.

Quick question - Toby is at vets getting teeth out today how do you judge when a dog is ready to resume training?
