  1. Not a long way between that and the show ring, he was moving into 4square really easily and the little bit of trotting he did looked great!
  2. Just in case you were interested angelsun on Thursday Eden Hill club in Perth is having thier first Rally training class and on Mondays some DOLers are getting togther for Rally practice. Go Rally!
  3. Don't worry Tiggy I had started stewarding when I saw you walk off with your crate.
  4. On the train on my way home from work to take Lincoln out for his last walk with me before he flies out. On a more training related note Eden Hill has thier first rally class Thursday and me and Toby will be going! So excited to get Toby into obidience, might make him appreciate agility more (ducks for cover since I know this is the obidience thread)
  5. Supposedly it does and I have seen a few pics of ash chessies with VERY light eyes as opposed to a distinct yellow. The brown bitch has what is temed 'amber' eyes in Chessies, yellow is like Lincoln in my sig.
  6. And this is where a line should be drawn... removing colours from the gene pool for fear of BYBs is obviously a bad thing, but to lose a colour from the chessie gene pool imo is like taking away a section of their history. If the colour is banned, I'd say it'd be more likely to be a risk of being a BYB if someone got hold of some - just like what happened with the blue weimaraner - a disqualifying fault in the standard, and rediculous numbers being bred in the US, and this has now spread to the UK and Europe. There are very few ash Chessies around as it is, many pups born ash turn into a deadgrass BUT the only breeders known to have ash dogs are breeding them to brown dogs so they can crop up again but they don't have ash pups. In Chessies no ethical breeder would breed ash to ash because the dilution would wash out the yellow/amber eyes required in the standard.
  7. The American Chesapeake Club has people campaigning to get diltue (ash) Chessies removed from the standard because they are scared fad breeding will hit ash chessies which would be horrible, they may look cuddly but they are working dogs with huge exercise needs that the average dog owner couldn't manage, the amount of adolesent Chessies dumped would skyrocket if puppy farms/bybs got thier hands on some ash chessies.
  8. They're for fun really but the points go towards the end of year awards The closed club trial went really well (not ) Toby's new fav thing is to choose a random number between 1-14, stop at that jump and refuse to keep going. After he pulled that stunt twice I scratched him thinking just maybe he was sore, then I get home and he springs out the car, down the wall, over the 1.5m fence and off to chase some roos. Dogs ST I promise next week too! Maybe my dog will be more motivated for Rally then for agility Also for a non agility dog who is a beginner and had to run in the wet Banjo did REALLY well and looked like he was having heaps of fun Tiggy!
  9. Thanks!! Didn't see you today...? That's cause I was in Bunbury at my grandads 80th that changed from a dinner in Perth to a lunch in Bunbury after I had sent my entries in.
  10. Yeah LR I will be giving Toby so many hugs he won't know what to do!
  11. Well done Bedazzled and RubyStar! Novia Scotia Duck Trolling retrievers... love it! Can just imagine Cider hanging out under bridges demanding iSqueaks to pass. ;)
  12. To get some basic retieving training and go to some shows in Victoria!! Plus they can drive him to Adelaide for the royal. Plus just to spend some time with his breeder.
  13. It will be better in the long run. Next Wednesday Lincoln is flying out and I won't see him for 2 months!
  14. He might just go missing. The end bit where he stares at the camera just melts my heart!
  15. Well I have Toby in a trialling again next weekend but I have really slowed down as I don't want to rush him through JD when we aren't ready for JDX. My goal for the other half of the year is to get 1 pass in JD! And improve my handling!
  16. My big thing was by November 9th 2010 I would have Toby with one JD pass, that I will is debateable. But I have at least had a good crack at it and learnt a lot.
  17. Yeah Lincoln's sire had 3 out of 4 BIG needed for grand and is going back to the USA in the next 18months so he might be getting around a bit international judge chasing.
  18. I will take it! Goldie pups are so cute. Your not going into showing are you Golden Rules? :p
  19. Reply is in the other thread about Rally O. I will bring the colour signs so you can laminate them ST. It's the full set (57 signs) but we can always start by laminating just the novice signs so your boss dosen't go mad. If I do get to host Lincoln's sire in Feb it probably won't be an exchange so you might have to help me handle one! ;) There is a link on the DogzOnline Home Page about special sashes.
  20. That wasn't very good here is more. You need 75 points to pass also. The first Level Novice is performed on lead and uses 12 signs from the 34(?) different signs or stations available at Novice level. The next levels and Excellent and Advanced which are off leash. If you miss a station you DQ or if your dog toilets on the course you DQ. I believe Southern River might be doing some classes or there is a show-n-go coming up at K9 where you can try your hand at Rally or watch people trying thier hand at Rally.
  21. Where is angelsun when you need her? ;) Rally obidience uses the 'moves' from traditional obidience but instead of the judge telling you what to do you must perform these manuvers from signs on the ground or 'stations'. For performing stations incorrectly, the dog misbehaving or the handler misbehaving you get deducted points, you start at 100 points. There are no double signals and you can talk to the dog the whole way round if you like. :p
  22. I printed out all the signs RS! 1 crappy black and white set and a nice colour set I need to get laminated. ;) We still on for Monday? (I am trying to plan an exchange of one Muppet for another, but the melbourne royal gets in the way. But we might get a visit in Feb of a very very handsome Chessie and I don't mean Lincon ) I think you mean ST Though I may join you and do a bit of practice ;) If I'm invited of course Yeah I meant ST Of course you can join in. :p We will probably be set up close anyway as I doubt there will be much room
