I will have to pretend that is also a photo of Millie seeing I don't have any of her as a pup Yeah but what you did for Millie is pretty special. If you want I can give you a whole series of shots, we will just have to photoshop the wavy hair as he gets bigger (and the boy parts :D ).

Dogs That Live To A Ripe Old Age
RallyValley replied to shepherdpower's topic in General Dog Discussion
My old girl Lilly is 14. She has been effected with arthritis/HD since the age of 5 (we were throwing the ball for her like 20 mins a day even as a young pup and she did these sliding stops, think rodeo horse) She was fed supermarket foods until the age 10 and has been overweight since she was 6 years old. Her diet is good quality now, she gets joint supplements and a cartophen. She is quite a large dog (maybe lab sized) so I think she has done quite well. -
I will bring a calculator

I don't mind doing my bit for the club. I have to tell you though I have never eaten sausages so i am unlikely to be able to cook them well.

Thought so. Thats so sad. can't wait till saturday, I am actually getting pretty excited to see all the gundogs in action. Will there be a fundraiser BBQ again?

Stray Pit Bull Saves Woman, Child From Attacker
RallyValley replied to RottnBullies's topic in In The News
I swear someone posted this a couple of months ago. -
For building topline in horses we used hillwork and boggy (but soft) sand. This probably isn't relevant though.. Just thought you might appreciate any random suggestion

Dougal would be a good dog to try Maizey with if you wanted to. There was a lady at Tracking who had a DA Wei, and she used to love me bringing Dougal over as she said his body language was very non threatening and she was trying to get her dog to realise not to react to every dog that walks past. GR is that Chase? Jenni (i think) has done a really good job with him... I can't remember either of their names but she had dark hair ...... and there can't be too many DA Weis at tracking so it probably was them! This dog had two homes very early on in life, and the breeder (from Tasmania?) refused to take the dog back and told them to PTS - this lady rescued him - couldn't believe the breeder! He is a lovely dog, just needs some special training. Hmmm I wonder ST if this is the same breeder that had a "Legally Docked" wei

This is from a horse persepective so feel free to boo me if I am wrong but when we were retraining an of the track pacing harness horse it was easier for him to pace becasue he lacked the muscles along his spine (his topline) required for the trotting movement after pacing for so long. We had to build up the muscles before he could comfortably trot for long periods of time. I wish I had pic but I don't. I don't know what a Belgians topline should look like though it does look a bit hollow to me (could be the way the dog is standing) and this could be a reason.

Spartan wins, the poor fella has to wear a bib! He needs one as vCBR suggested that says "I'm too sexy for this bib" Well he is

I was thinking Medibank but they are underwritten by Hollard as well, they aren't any good? I don't know much about their quality, but I got quotes from about 7 insurance companies. I found that even with the 10% discount, Medibank were almost twice as much as Pet Insurance Australia. RSPCA and Pet Plan were then WAY more expensive than Medibank. I am with Medibank. I pay $32 a month to have my two young boys insured and have been with them since January. I have paid out $224 in fees. I have a $500 excess. For Toby I have made 0 claims, so I am $112 out of pocket. For Lincoln I have made two claims, one for an injured toe that required antibiotics, a toe nail removal and re bandaging a couple of times, this was $650 so I got back $150, this money was back about 10 days after I put the claim in., the second claim was when Lincoln has a suspected intestinal blockage that required surgery that turned out to be gastro and require a 3 night vet stay at an emergency hospital that wasn't my current vet (of course it was on a public holiday) I paid out a bit over $5000 and so far I have got back $4500, the missing part is because I went to my own vet for the initial consultation before they closed for the day (at 1pm) and I haven't gotten around to them filling out the paperwork. So overall I come out WAY ahead, the $4650 i have saved so far is enough to pay my dogs insurance premiums for the next few years. It also gave me peace of mind when the vets were like the operation may cost $4000 alone, I didn't have to stress about the money, only my puppys health.

I am like a kid waiting for Christmas :D Zoe visited him today and all is well. She took a doekken for him to play with but he was more interested in trotting around with the food container she had with her. Apparently he has just about lost all of his puppy coat - so might have to dig out an old pair of Lexi's PJ's for him to wear when he comes home on Friday I plan on sitting the other kids down on Thursday evening and telling them I have a surprise for them on Friday morning I am so excited for you Ptolomy Can't wait to meet him on Sunday

So I won't be seeing you at the other club not that I've been lately :D If they ever have a class again. I may go there on Thursday night if it's on because the judge of the course I did in Bunbury will be there and they are helping me set up the course so i can try finishing it this time.
-
I get jealous of the Tuesday night people. I want to meet this Asha But I think until I have Lincoln at a trialling level no point coming down Tuesdays although I might do Thursdays (If thats with Southern River and I don't have to pay another membership).
-
Just cause I was curious: Lower Arena (per pole per hour or part thereof) $41.40 Lower Arena (two poles per hour or part thereof) $72.00 It's not cheap!
-
And not such a hike to the cars :D Tiggy I go up Roe Hwy then Ranford Rd. It's a bit of a hike but Setter cuddles, lab kisses and getting to play with a few red kids every week makes it worth it. Plus the owners are nice too.
-
I say give him to Ptolomy to help her get over her drool phobia :D Spart can be the first dog to lose a qually score cause his handler gave up due to being drooled out.
-
And be prepared to be mobbed by people wanting to pat the ES.

The chat is the best bit about Monday nights and it was great to meet you, your mum and the kids. Maybe we need to stick all the kids names in a hat and that who we take into Rally. That would make life VERY interesting. Nope no drool my clothes - WHEW I like that idea! I think we all wanna pull a red kid's name outta the hat :D It's good experience handling other people's dogs ;) vCBR, you can put one of my ratbags through rally next week if you want. They won't work as great as the red kids but I would be interested to see if they work for you! They're anybodies if you have treats Yay! That will be fun. :p Mas 1981- Never give me Mason then Ness- I will happily have a go with Ness too.
