that last pic! Maybe I will take a squiz at that lens too.

So many choices! I hardly ever use my 14-42mm lens so the 18-180 would probably be perfect. I think I will wait till I have stadier hands or an awesome tripod to even look at a 70-300

Yes he went home. And he was such a fantastic old fella too. We had such a huge response with the rescue groups. Everyone wanted to take him. Great camera the E-420. I still use it from time to time. Plus it can use all those fantastic Zuiko lenses which the E-30 uses also. I thoroughly endorse the 12-60 BTW :D In many respects, though, just getting a better lens can greatly improve results - even with the E-420. Having said that, it also depends what you're going to take photos of & the environment you're in. I do pound photography, so I did found the E-420 wanting at times, as the environment is very demanding. For example, lighting varies from bright to very dull, the subject can be jumping all over the place, to being very calm, whilst about a hundred other variables are out of my control. Hence I got the E-30. But all you may need is a new lens. If so, I'd recommend the 18-180mm Zuiko. I use it as my workhorse lens, especially at Kurri pound, & I'm rather satisfied with the results. It is an improvement on the kit 14-42 (which is a rather good lens itself as kit lenses go). Yes the 12-60 is far better, but it is also a lot more expensive. Also if you want to upgrade, but budget is an issue, you may want to think about the E-620. It's probably the best one in the Olympus dslr range as value goes overall compared to features etc & picture quality. The E-30 is better, but costs more. It's good to get some feedback about lenses! :thumbsup:Makes it easier when I want to go lens shopping. I don't use the 14-42 very often and I am more likely to use the 40-150. :D

I have a 9 month old at home so I am over the puppy thing for some time Although that pup is adorable and I am sure she will get snapped up fast. Maybe I will upgrade my body for Christmas...

That poor boxer! I am glad it went home. The shots are heartbreaking but very true. I looked at my camera and I actually have an e420! I have the standard twin lens kit with it. I might upgrade the body at some stage but the lenses are pretty decent I think.

Yeah I spent a bout a week considering jumping ship bit for a total DSLR novice who rarely uses my camera I have taken some absoultely beatiful shots like the one that I attribute to Olympus Plus Olympus have the lightest rigs and really good lenses.

I am so happy for Charlie! Whenever I read your posts I always notice how he sounds like the most adorable little dog!

Emery I conditioned my lot to the clicker by watching tv with a container of yummy food in my lap. Everytine someone on screen smiled I would click and treat all the dogs no matter what they were doing. This made the clicks a bit unpredictable so they just learnt click noise = I get some food. Until they knew that I wasn't asking for any behaviors or clicking for anything specific. However they do quickly learn to pay attention and stay nearby if you are holding a clicker.

Might have to try find that one on youtube Bedzzled. Thanks for the answer RS, someone told me about a month ago that you lose points if the dogs touch you and I have been finding it hard to set a consistent criteria for Toby.

Looks like GR's are the hit for obedience over there! The last two winners were labs. :D Im off to bed, I will probably have dreams of dogs heeling beatifully. Today I have watched sooooo many youtube clips of obidience I think I finally have in my head what a good heel position looks like. Quick question though, in a front are points deducted if the dog touches you?

Hey RS and Ptolomy, did you guys know of the last 15 AKC NOI's winners 13 have been retrievers! (and 1 BC, 1 sheltie, 1 poodle)

I hate those idiots All it could take is one spark.. bush fires are a huge fear of mine.

Yeah that's Bullet He is such a handsome boy. Below is a pic of him for anyone who is curious with a pro handler (not his owner) back when he was in the states. Him and Naca probably had a bit of a chat since they are both American.

I am quite happy with my Olympus but at the stage where I want to buy a macro lens, flash ect and I am starting to realise that second hand olympus stuff just isn,t around. Do the SLR experts believe that this is a good enough reason to swap brands?

joelle- We are down the bottom oval in the dark. :D We all train by ourselves but near each other or using the same equipment.

Your boy looks impressive! Well done. :D Do you know which Chessie? Was the handler American? If he was you were next to Lincoln's dad. OMG yes he had an accent and I said thats a Chessie !! I was so proud as its only coz of Linc that I have ever seen one!! I have a pic somewhere I shall post, lovely softly spoken man blonde hair! and Beautiful dog! That is such a crazy coincidence WZ! I at that second pic of Ruby RS where she has a double chin. She must be like one of those models that are like " I was fat and unpopular in hich school" :D

Think I might nickname you "Tiggy" I just never really watched/trained/understood obidience until recently. :D Plus you have to admit heeling with the red kids feels great

I am finding that I am getting more enthusiastic about obidience then agility now. I am also considering suscribing to Front and Finish magazine.. :D I spent most of last night and today watchin youtube clips of people doing obidience.

No but I wish I had thought of that! I had a sickie so I could take Lilly to the vet for a check up and so that I could go to the bank and report my ATM card missing . I wouldn't call it a sickie so much as a mental health day anyway.

Agility Training Talk Thread
RallyValley replied to Vickie's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
RS I know of a lady in the states that has a Chessie she does Rally with in a motorised wheelchair, I think she also does retrieving with her dogs ( she had an off road chair :D ) and maybe agility. But I know she wasn't allowed to to original obidience because judges "couldn't tell if the dog was heeling".
