No luck for Toby either due to a handler error involving me hesitating about which jump to send him over and him taking that as a signal we were done. Otherwise enthusiasm was improving and he got to do his beloved chute. I got to meet the lovely Strauss and have many many Toller cuddles However the best bit for me was when most people had gone I got Toby out of the car and he was comfortable enought to play iSqueak and then he played with Quigley the irish terrier and they got along great. I am hoping that he will soon be feeling more confident at K9. I took 284 photos today and will post some of Strauss if Ptolomy gives me permisson too.

It's a DVD. Search Crate Games on Clean Run or maybe even google will tell you.

I Just love watching dogs when they are having zoomies. It is the cutest thing ever.

Oh I almost can't be bothered driving all that way for another NQ. But I will cause I want to meet Strauss.

Unfortunately the answer to that is a politician vCBR, I wouldn't stress about not bringing anything... it isn't like we are going to be there all week The answer to that is leaning towards we won't know for a at least a few days and probably a week.

You guys are so good baking. I have been too busy watching the election coverage.

Yay for Millie! I can't wait to meet Strauss tomorrow. Toby will be coming down and I may put him in the ring but unless the course is REALLY flowing I am going to do one or two obstacles and leave the ring on a real high note. Your parents sound really cute RS. I can just imagine how you would feel if your dad and his lab beat you with your Aussie

I have to disagree with you here Tiggy For Lincoln that would be fine but Toby is a totally different dog. Me ignoring him in that situation would only heighten his anxiety and make him frantic. I think walking around slowly and massaging his ears as he begins to show calming signals is the right thing for him.

Well done Millie and Ruby!

Also koalathebear google OFA they have average statistics for most breeds and a table comparing them. However they are American and in some breeds some statistics are skewed (eg. PRA for Chessies many dogs have been known A clear or several generations with only A to A matings happening so only dogs that are suspected carriers or effected are tested, making it seem like a very high persentage of the breed has or carries PRA when the reality is a very large percentage of the breed is A clear so no testing is done. -

If someone was to come into the Chessie breed 101 forum (no wading there, it about 2 pages max) and say " I was thinking of this breed what are the health issues?" I would be happy to link them to the American Chesapeake Club's breed health surveys, talk them through vertical pedigrees and OFA. I am fairly certain the only limit to discussion in breed 101 is breaching forum rules (i.e talking breed/judge poltics or naming and shaming). I am also fairly certain someone started a thread about "What health issues are in your breed?" and quite a few people replied but it died out fairly quick because it's not a very interesting discussion to have across such a broad cross section of breeds who all have such completely different issues and concerns. Also one can not say for e.g 'Labs are very likely to get HD' as it very much depends on lines, and even then I have heard of several litters where parents had hip scores that were well below breed average and managed to throw dysplatic pups. I think I would be unlucky to have Lincoln dysplaytic, I know certain Chessie lines in the states that are less careful that I would be lucky to get a non dysplatic pup. Sorry to get off topic everyone! -
Yes Poor tobes, I have been doing this for a year with my two, undercover markets, Primary Schools at drop off times, fronts of shopping centres, anywhere where people are!! Fairs and footy are good places as well, mine are still people cautious but thats just the breed and the lack of puppy socialisation as youngsters, hangin there its a big road but it does get better! I also have a great CD of 101 unusual noises I play to them on odd instances! Thanks Wazzat! Toby wasn't socialised as a puppy either because he was in a cast from 9 weeks to 5 months and under house arrest. Lincoln is fairly well socialised so having him around seems to put Toby at ease.

Pretty self explanatory. I know so many people that have this DVD but the amount I know that have done the games in thier entirerty? Well none. I just dug it out and I am like Yeah I should so watch this and do it! but I normally watch it, plan to do it but never get around to that first session.

Not always. I think on Thursday night he was freaking out but I was misreading the signs cause he was being a bit more subtle. I have to make a commitment to start taking him to places like football matches where people shout a lot and c+t him when people shout so he gets used to it.

Today when I went to vote I decided to take Toby as its at the local primary school and I thought I could do some training on the oval after. I left Toby in the car, went and voted then I got him out. As I was walking to the oval a little kid on a bike wizzed passed (Toby is terrified of bikes) and then the kids dad started screaming at this kid from across the road, because he has crossed the road and the kid was screaming at the dad and poor Toby's tail shot between his legs like a whippet, he started to shiver and went statute still. I am trying to move him away from the kid and dad having a shouting match since he is terrified and the dad looked at me and my scared dog and started to shout at his kid louder! I picked Toby up and carried him to the oval where it took me about 10 minutes of gentle walking and massage to get the shaking to stop. I had food with me but he wouldn't take it. My poor dog, sometimes I think it must be so horrible to be him. Then I came home and did some free shaping to relax him and he offered me this really cute sulky look, so I may have a new trick to show everyone in a few weeks.

koala the bear try the various breed 101 threads where genetic issues/general breed health are discussed. Please don't try to imply that some of the awesome breeders on here hide genetic problems in thier breeds. Also if you are really interested in a breed talk to some breeders about health issues, good ones will be entirely honest. -

Was just thinking that he probably has a puppy farm himself Poodlemum I think we need a DOLer slueth on the case because if he did own a puppy farm and pull the stunt he just did that could gain him serious bad publicity. I think someone needs to make a propganda anti-puppy farms and anti-DB you tube clip that we can send viral. -

Anyone know a hitman? (I am just joking although this guy makes me see red I do not literally wish him dead, it would just be nice if her permamntly lost his voice or something) -
I knew you were RS I just couldn't resist putting up another picture of Lincoln. Also look everyone http://www.dogswest.com/Pdfs/Events_List_2011.pdf 2011 events list for CAWA!

RS this is the DOLer that I was talking about earlier. (I am 99% sure only members can see attached files, if not someone let me know and I will delete it). Please note the cutest puppy in the world in his arms and the sctarch marks from said puppy.

Lincoln is coming up 12 months ( ) and I want to get some initial scans done at 12 months (as opposed to the ones I will get done at 2 years to send to OFA) just to get an idea of how he is hip-wise. Does anyone know of a vet (and I am willing travel and pay extra if necessary) that gets really good scans? (I would hate to go throught heart break because of a crappy scan). I will be getting him scanned again at 2.

I got my number ( ) today!

Not that I can remember him... had too many Estate kids come and visit ;) The development was always going to happen, and it has been the 5 years they thought it would take. Are you guys still looking to move or have you shelved that idea? No in about 24 months my parents will be back in Bunbury. We didn't move to have a large block just so we could be crowded in by development. But my dad in all his wisdom thinks the longer we can hold out the more our block will be worth to developers and my mum argued him down to 2 years. :D So I don't really know what this means for me.

A guy who loves Labs... is he taken? Nope Mirawee met him when he was in high school as he used to visit her farm with his friend Ben and her sister Emily and Amypie has met him twice. (BTW Mirawee there is a development proposal on the land you used to won all the way up to across the road from me )
