Hello,I love the look of the fauves',gorgeous faces. Can you tell me ,does the coat shed all the time or is it seasonal.Would they be suitable for people with allergies?

If any more neglect occurs at this place,Take pictures. That's evidence.

My sister in law had strangers come up to her and ask ;what happened to the dog.She did get a bit fed up with that.Persephone has a point. You can say hello to anyone you like at the park. But do it for the right reasons.Hope i make sense this time.

My sister in law had a GS pup from a breeder. He had a problem with his head/neck where it twisted of to one side all the time. They had the option of returning him but they kept him.The condition did improve a bit as he got older and he had a good and long life.Say hello to these people and see if they mention the subject first.Otherwise they may think you only wanted to talk to them to make fun of their dog,

Getting A Friend For Our Newfoundland

It is recommended for large/giant females to be allowed to have one season before spaying, for their growth Ah, that makes sense. Thank you Oh ,i see as well, thanks .You can learn something everyday. -

When she is in heat you will see discharge of blood stained fluid, female passage-vulva-and the vulva will swell, enlarge and becomes firm.Discharge will drip down between the hind legs. There will be a strong odour. You will need to keep her secure so no other dogs can get to her.Have a chat to the vet and find out the cost of desexing.I don't know if this can be done if she is already in season. If you bring the other dog home,or take her to visit him and he is not desexed, she will very likely get pregnant -
We had the name Pippa,Short for Philipa ,chosen for our 3 rd daughter. But when she was born we didn't think it suited her.So picked another name. When we got our dog; we named her Pippa,It suited her very well.

A double lead is a good idea if you have a large dog. We used this sometimes so my kids felt like they were walking the dog.I would take both leads if we walked past another dog.
-
I also saw a child about 8 year old ,walking a rotty down our street. No adults around. When we had our wolfy x i told my 9 year old that she had to weigh more than the dog before she could walk her .That took a few more years. As i keep saying; There should be a law about it.

Getting A Friend For Our Newfoundland

Is there a way you can put up a safety gate so she can come inside and be near you and see you but be separate from the babies and not under foot.If you are not going to breed her;consider desexing. Her hormones may already be changing in the lead up to her heat. When she is on heat, she will smell and you won't want her in the house. All the dogs in the area will dig, climb, and scale the fence to get to her.Are you prepared for that. -

Yes,I agree .Wait and see how things are after the baby arrives. You can always go with rescue later. Are you worried your current dog will miss out on attention when the baby comes? Is that why you feel she needs a friend now? -

The Newfoundland club of New South Wales do rescue and rehome. Perhaps give them a call. -
Did the owner take the dog to the vet after it was hit? If she didn't maybe you could report her to the RSPCA and say the dog was hit by the car and not sure if it is injured.Maybe they may step in then.

Once my son and i were followed from a playground by a stray dog.A man in nearby street called out and pointed to a house where he said the dog lived. When i knocked on the door the owner said ;Oh i let him out to see if he can find his way back.Yeh right;probably wanted to see if he wouldn't come back.Maybe this lady hopes her dog will go away. Yes take him to the RSPCA .I would bet she will not want to go and get him back.

Friend Is Determined On Getting A Puppy That Is For Free
budgiew replied to haylz27's topic in General Dog Discussion
No matter where you get an animal ;free; cheap ;or whatever;Just make sure it is healthy before you take it on.No one can predict how long a dog will live for or if it will get ill down the track; But some caution and knowledge can save heartache down the track. -

It can be a bit of a lucky dip when it comes to getting a young pup cheap or free. Many years ago in my teens I got a bull terrier pup very cheap. When i got her home she had the runs very bad so took her to the vet.It turned out some weeks later that she had distemper and started having fits etc and had to be put to sleep. At least if she wants a young pup make sure it has all its vaccinations and vet exam. Before you take it. -
I think most little dogs need company ,especially if the owners are out for much of the day.If you decide later to get a pet perhaps adopt 2 little quiet dogs,Sometimes you see them in pairs at the shelter. My friend had a rescue maltese and although she also had another elderly dog ,he would cry and pee everywhere if she left him.But when the older dog died she got a rescue cat and the maltese just loves the cat so much and they play well together.Since the cat came the dog no longer carries on or pees when she goes out.Sorry this is such a difficult time for you.Time will ease your pain.I am sure in the future you will find a pet that will fit right into your life, and you will know you did the right thing.

If she has owned a dog before she at least has some experience. I agree with rescue, have a look on pet rescue.com or take her to look at local pound or shelter.Good luck. -
Why Would You Not Go To Back To The Breeder.?
budgiew replied to budgiew's topic in General Dog Discussion
The Breed club have contacted the owners and have found the breeder; so the owners can get help if they want it.MEH,The price they where asking was a tiny fraction of what they paid for the dog.I am surprised that so many people have said that they would not go back to the breeder for advise or help. All the breeders i have met so far have been wonderful people.I suppose there are dodgy people in all walks of life. -
Why Would You Not Go To Back To The Breeder.?
budgiew replied to budgiew's topic in General Dog Discussion
Have just had emails back from breeders i contacted and one has the details and are looking into it.So i hope all goes well for the pup and for the owners. There are many unexpected things happen in life and i understand that sometimes people need to rehome a pet;but one should never be afraid or ashamed to ask for help.Thats my advise anyway. -
Why Would You Not Go To Back To The Breeder.?
budgiew replied to budgiew's topic in General Dog Discussion
I can well understand how breeders would be upset to see their dogs end up in less than ideal homes. Not quite the same, but i bred budgies for 35 years and always tried my best to place them in good homes.Once my daughters boss kept wanting me to sell him some birds. He was not very responsible but did have other larger birds so i gave him written instructions on the do's and don'ts of their care.He went right home and did all the wrong things;put the too young female in with large parrots with nest box;then he rang to ask why had they killed her !!! -

I guess like mystiqview said ;the breed club may already have offered to help but the owners don't have to accept any help. -

Thanks mysiqview;a lot i didn't think of there. My first reaction was these people and the dog may need some help. The breed club do help with rehoming so i emailed them.Have also emailed an Airedale breeder that i think may help.Other than that i don't know if i should have not stuck my nose in so to speak;but it's done now. The Pup is 9 months old.I have been dreading the day when i see Airedale pups in the pet shop like is happening with so many other breeds these days. -
