    Puppy Worming.....

Hi guys! Thanks for your responses!!! Luvsdogs, I bought some sardines and tuna yesterday to start her on, but was a little worried about the raw eggs yet???? Are they all good for puppies? She is getting fed 3 times a day at the moment, and by the looks of her will be for a while yet. I think I should go get some Drontal puppy wormer and do her again next week then. How long can you continue to use the puppy wormer? What brands are the multiple tablet that do heartworm, worms, fleas etc??? I was going to get her the yearly heartworm injection from the vets? Is this no good??? A tablet that does everything sounds too good to be true!!!! Becks, when I got her she was on Pedigree puppy biscuits, tins and puppy milk, and they had just started her on chicken necks. Doesn't sound very inviting does it? I kept her on that diet for the first week so as to not upset her too much with the move and all, but have now started to change her over to "supercoat" biscuits, and am starting to phase out the tins of Pal. Any brands better than that (in a reasonable price range)??? Thanks again!!! L
  2. Hi All!!!!!!!!! New member here, hoping to get some advice from the wealth of knowledge that is DOL!!!!! I have just adopted a 10 week old puppy of "mixed heritage" that was abandoned at 3 & 1/2 weeks old and has been hand reared since. The poor little thing is still a bit on the thin side, with quite a rough/dull coat and a bit of a "pot belly" All these things say to me "worms" but I was told she has been wormed twice, the last time would have been over a week ago now. She is due to be desexed at 12 weeks old and get her second vacc (the desexing I would prefer to be done at 5 months but she's an "Animal Welfare" adopted dog so they make the rules) and I am trying to get her health up to scratch before then so she is as healthy as possible. I know its only about a week and a half away, but I need some suggestions. Should I be worming her again? If so, when? What with? Diet wise she has been started on a quality biscuit with chicken necks, a bit of tinned food, some small bones every couple of days and any leftover vegies we have from our dinner. Any other suggestions of what I could give her to help her along? Poor little thing is bright, happy and has quite a bit of energy, but looks thin and dull. Cheers L
