I have to say, i love my vet...He is soooo caring and his practice is on the cusp of city/rural...I travel 35 min and passed probably 6 vets to get to him..There is nothing wrong with any that i pass, but mine seems to know more about working breed dogs....

thanks for that Kelpiekaye....The black coat seems to be naturally glossy, the girl you have to work with a bit...I find also the Aloveen conditioner i use when i bath them helps as well

The patient is home. Tim(my vet) said he was a very good boy....I had to say sorry to him about a thousand times.......Think my vet was more upset than anyone, as he was hoping i would have pups from my girl and Jones(my boy):-) he recons he was first on the list......My boy is asleep on the lounge at the moment. Hope everything has or will go smoothly for everyone...I still feel terrible though

My boy gets done tomorrow, so im feeling a bit shit at the moment....:-(

My 2 get livamol and flaxseed oil in their diet(raw) more noticeable in the choc girl than the black boyand no, they are not suppose to be on the bed.......

I run my 2 each morning, but cross country...They sometimes stay on lead and sometimes have free run..depends as its where we ride our mountain bikes so i dont e\want them hit by a bike.. They know to get off the track, my boy stays right beside me but megs is like a kid in a lolly shop. The first roo she sees shes off. so she stays on a long lead so she can run a bit in front but stays with me

I respect the fact you may love your animals...But if you watched one puppy die from this terrible virus, and there could be a percentage factor of another young pup getting that same virus, are you willing to take that chance and would you want another dog going through that....I can't say i would want to take that risk.... My girls litter sister got parvo after her 16wk needle spent a week in intensive care and a blood tranfusion....We as a whole are only concerned for the new pup, as you say us talking about it makes you think of duke and is upsetting, but not upsetting enough to think of the wellbeing of a new pup...I don't understand that part of it....Can you guarantee that your house and yard is 100% safe?

Yes I forgot to mention that I do add some veggies to their evening meal (unless I am in a hurry or just lazy LOL- then it is just the dog log and supplements) Normally I will add grated carrot, grated zucchini, baby spinach leaves or grated apple to the meal as well as the supplements. My dogs eat all fruit and veges so I am no longer able to eat an apple or an orange (mango/banana/berries) without two faces looking starved to death blowing bubbles wanting some too, so it is a sharing caring kind o house LOL geez you too. I thought i was the only one that got crash tackled for fruit. Cold watermelon send my girl into a frenzy....she stares at you till you give in...and cold celery...My boy pretends to like it cause she does but not as keen on fruit as her...and yes fresh veges go in mine as well.

mine get fed pretty much to what tyra20007 dogs do with VAN ... I put flaxeed oil and protexin in mine. I dont find it much hassle to do the meals and freeze them...All human grade meat here as well...

Hey marnifer, we all start somewhere. I can remember my 1st 1/2 marathon, thougth this is shit, but ended up doing 5 of them in a couple of years so it must be like childbirth you forget!!!!!!!!! on the offroad series we have xterrain races, its the fun side of triathlon, you swim in a dirty dam or river, you mountain bike and then X country run....it breaks up the boredom of concrete and bitumen.....Good luck with your training...Dont worry tooo much, Its many years since i used to do them, but can remember sitting in the gutter at mooloolaba one year eating pizza the night before..that and guiness beer gives you heaps of energy:-)

lectade is product i know of for the dogs its like our gatorade.....I use to do olympic distance tri's. do endurance mountain biking now..... I take my dogs running of a morning nothing harsh tho its too hot...i go around 5.30 cross country any later in the day i dont run them i just walk them. I dont need to drink when i run for only an hour as im used to it, so i mix theirs up in my camelback and they hydrate whenever they want

Inside Dogs And Visiting Kids
sandra64 replied to poodle proud's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I had my first kelpie over 25 years ago before i had kids. She was still with me when pregnant with my first child....She was like my child and i still treated her the same when my 1st son arrived. While i was pregnant Cass use to lay with me with her head on my belly as if she new....Once Lachlan arrived she was his little guardian...He was a christmas eve baby so it was very hot...I used to have him in the middle of the family room floor with the doors wide open, she would sit on the edge of the mat, just protecting him.I was there of course never left him alone....As he started to walk, she was there right beside him everywhere, never a jealous moment from her and she hadnt really been introduced to anything but young drunks in our backyard before i had children :-) -

mine get VAN with whatever i buy to put in with it, but not every meal they have has VAN mixed in with it. I mince up chicken, or i buy a whole blade from the butcher or if there is Kangaroo mince going cheap i buy that. I also put in whatever veggies are left over I also put a bit of flaxseed oil sprinkled over it,and a little protexin powder. They get that in the mornings and then meaty bones at night, but they usually like to bury the bones so they stink, then they go get them and bring them beside you to chew on.Its weird i never find a hole so i dont no where they stash them. I did find one covered in leaves one day, and one sitting in a box under the house(is that the lazy way of doing it these days).Mine also get Apple Cider vinegar every day in their drinking water. My girl has a really big thing for cold celery sticks, and chilled watermelon.... -

I really cant go passed putting cider vinegar in their drinking water and pure aloe vera on any skin irritations. We live on the river and my dogs (if they get in the water ) get very affected by skin irritation. I find the cider vinegar every day seems to ease alot of it
