  1. You have lovely dogs. I am sure Blondie will use her charm to stay on top of Chev.
  2. As above. I use teeth and overall appearance to estimate the age. I also tell people that it is just an estimate, as we have no way of telling for sure.
  3. Very interesting indeed. Do you know what I noticed though... The dogs who are more hunting/working type dogs (Deerhound, Setters, Terriers, etc) have not changed much at all, but the 'less useful' (for want of a better word! LOL!) dogs, the 'pretty' dogs have changed HEAPS! Look at that gorgeous Bulldog. ETA: Did you see the branding on some of the hunting dogs?
  4. We have only tried one of these collars once, and it had the opposite effect. Our dog would bark at EVERYTHING. When the collar zapped her, she would bark at the collar.
  5. ROFL!! I did that to my dog when I was a little kid. She looked very pretty with her pink nails...
  6. Woohoo!! Congrats on that great news!! That little girl is TINY, I hope she turns the corner and thrives from now on.
  7. Wow, these greys are opening up a whole new world for me! LOL! A world of injuries and superglue! They certainly are a special type of dog. I can't get over how affectionate Pia is. I find her very cat-like, I think that's why I like her so much.
  8. Haha, well that's good to know. I don't know what she has grazed herself on, our yard is pretty clear.
  9. Thanks for that. ;) She seems to have a very low pain threshold too (ie. she is a wuss!). She has convinced me several times now that she has broken her leg - only to find a small piece of bark between her toes or a prickle in her foot... But oh my god I love her.
  10. Pia's skin seems very thin compared to my other dogs. Is that just her or is it normal for the breed? When you look at her belly, the skin seems very thin. And she has just showed me a graze on the inside of her leg (nothing serious, just a scrape) that she has obviously gotten while hooning around the yard. None of my dogs have ever had scrapes or grazes! LOL! ETA: Never mind, just found something online that said they do. ;)
  11. My MIL takes her dog EVERYWHERE with her. She brings him here when she visits and he refuses to go outside. He screams and cries and scratches the door... So she lets him inside and he jumps all over my furniture and annoys my cats. My dogs are only inside at night and they aren't allowed on the furniture, so I think its bloody rude that she brings him! So no, I don't think you are being rude or mean. If they want to bring the dog, they should ask! I would never take my dogs to someone else's house unless they were invited!
  12. I'm so sorry for your loss. ;) RIP Bo.
  13. Please don't get rid of the frogs!! Most frogs are totally harmless and they are struggling so much in Australia. Block off the pond by all means, but our frogs need all the help they can get.
  14. Well I don't think you're a nutter. I have had 'after life' experiences with pets that have passed, and I too believe it is their way of showing us they are still here.
