  1. Freudian slip?? LOL!! That is so cute - I would have to give him something nice to eat after that effort. ;)
  2. It was the funniest thing. The phone would ring, the dog would leap up and chase the cat, the poor cat would be going WTF just happened? LOL! She did it for years and years, then eventually forgot about it. LOL! I just can't work out how it would have started? Perhaps someone jumped up to get the phone, frightened the cat and the dog chased it? Not sure, but god it was funny! LOL!
  3. I think its a lot too. My Lab x has 1.5 cups of dryfood a day.
  4. Our old family dog used to attack the cat when the phone rang! No idea how that started! ROFL!!
  5. I also think that rather than defending the breed, the poster in question has made it look like Grey's need to be protected from the world - nobody should foster them unless they have 30 years experience, they aren't nice dogs they have to be MADE into nice dogs, etc. She goes on about protecting the breed's reputation but is up in arms because someone thinks a cat, small dog and food aggressive dog SHOULDN'T be rehomed? Getting nasty with someone will never help them. I wish that people on here could always be considerate in the way they word their replies, but its a public forum so you can't really control that.
  6. Did a quick search and found this: Can I bring my dog to the Market? Dogs are not permitted in any enclosed or covered area of the Market. This includes the Deli Hall, Meat Hall, Food Court, Elizabeth Street and Victoria Street Shops and all sheds with the exception of Guide Dogs for the visually impaired. http://www.qvm.com.au/faq.aspx Spoil sports.
  7. Ahhhh he is so gorgeous!! I am definitely getting a Borzoi one day. Definitely!
  8. No, thats not the drinking water!! It was a wading pool for the kids, which they then filled up with mud. Manlynau, you are correct. That is an Oriental and she is looking for a new home! And I told you Lynda! LOL! They are like long-lost sisters! Sam is 5 months old.
  9. Hah got it in one aussielover. They are big sellers apparently.

    Dog Attack

Wasn't there a case like this a while ago but with a girl. The father blamed the dog for doing something to her genitals (can't remember what now) but they later charged the father I believe. I hope this case will be investigated thoroughly. Poor poor little baby.
  11. Or eating the rabbit food! Its so funny, when I open the hutch to feed the rabbits, they hop out and start eating the grass - Pia is too interested in eating their food that she couldn't care less about the rabbits! LOL!
  12. I have a foster cat here at the moment who LOVES my dogs. She is always smooching up to them or wrestling with them. This Pia (my foster failure Greyhound) with Portia: And this is Sam, my new foster Greyhound puppy cuddling Portia: And with rabbits! LOL!
  13. Oh god, I feel your pain. But sorry, I don't think they do grow out of it. My Lab x GSP is still Mr Destructo and he will be 8yo in a few months. The things he has destroyed...
  14. Really? So if a breeder sells a puppy with entropian on all four lids, cherry eye, skin allergies, etc the puppy owner should wear those costs??? Sorry, but that is not fair. If someone forks out for a pedigree puppy, they should get something healthy!!
  15. He is gorgeous! I have a Lab x GSP, they are lovely dogs. ;)
  16. Shame they didn't think it through properly, but great that they brought her back. I know a man who breeds pedigree cats and he sold a kitten to a man one night only to find out it was in the RSPCA the next morning!! Didn't even last 24 hours! And this man also said he would take it back. Thankfully the kitten found a new home (a staff member kept it) but how awful to find out that something you bred and loved for 10 weeks was now at the pound. ;)
  17. Holy crap! ;) That is very very scary. Where do you draw the line now? Will AmStaff's be broadened to Staffords?
  18. I am so sorry to hear this news. Pepi put up a good fight but once their kidneys start to fail, sadly the rest of the body often follows suit. I lost a cat recently to pancreatitis. Unfortunately it hadn't been treated by his previous owner so he was a very sick kitty. He spent two weeks at the vets on fluids and seemed to be doing really well, but as soon as we stopped the fluids, he crashed and I had to have him PTS. Our animals can't tell us how they feel and they often put on a brave face. Sometimes we don't realise just how sick they are. It is devastating to lose a pet, there is no pain like it. But please know that your gorgeous Pepi will always be with you. I believe their spirits stay with us and have had this confirmed when I was 'visited' by a departed pet. Allow yourself to grieve but open your heart and your mind and you will realise he is still around. Sending you massive hug.
  19. They look like they had so much fun!!
  20. So sad. RIP Buddy and big hugs to the family he has left behind.
  21. Methylated spirits sprayed on the bandage will help, but it stings if you get it into the wound!
  22. Reading that article though, there is no distinction between BYB and reg'd breeder. For the average person reading that, they think 'Those dodgy reg'd breeders at it again' and then happily trot down to PP and buy their oodle.
  23. My point is that they do NOTHING to try and stop BYB and puppy farmers pumping out copious amounts of dogs (and cats) each year, yet the are intent on bringing down reg'd breeders. At my work, so many of the animals we see are pet shop and BYB puppies and all I can say is hybrid vigour my arse! We see so many problems in these crossbreeds and unreg animals that are all but non existant in reg breeds.
