Greetings all, I'm not sure how many of us have pay-tv available to them, buy recently "Pit Boss" premiered on Animal Planet. For those who aren't aware this is a program about Shorty Rossi, a little person running an exclusively little person talent agency in America aswell as running his own pit bull rescue and helping support other associated rescue organisations and groups. Although an American based program, 'Pinups For Pitbulls' is open to people of all countries, religions and origins. Applicants have to be 18 and over, to be expected unfortunately, but never-the-less I'd love to spread the word about this and help with what I can, where I can The website is http://www.pinupsforpitbulls.com/ and a fanpage can also be located on facebook under Pinups For Pitbulls, inc. I would love to get involved with this and also assist people where I can to get involved too. All the essential info that can be found on the website and I would love for people to just check it out and add support to these people work at saving the breed and it's close cousins the American Staffordshire Terrier and Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Thanks, Jaimee

When I still worked at Zanzebern (which has the dogs in my sig.) I would often feed dogs some food by hand and let them lick left-overs and juice off my hand to encourage gentle mouths. I was feeding a great gal named Czenzi once, who was 5 years at the time and passed with bloat not too long ago, and I had her licking mince off my hand and when she got excited and bit down, quite hard. I didn't yell or screech, just a quick "ow" and she cowered down below me and looked up with the most apologetic look I've ever seen in an animal! There's no doubt that she was sorry for what she had just done. So I kept feeding her and gave her a cuddle, poor Czenz was horrified. Also, recently while visiting my sisters at their house we were playing with the family Aussie Bulldog, Tinkerbelle. We were pulling the rug out from under her feet and she was jumping on the corners of the rug pushing it down and not letting us pick it up to drag her, fun game, hehe. But she quickly stopped, looked at me and then spewed on the floor infront of my feet. We all just looked at her and her face was absolutely adorable! She had sad, sorry eyes and just pleaded with us through her eyes not to get mad. It was hilarious. Classic Tink. So yes, I do feel that some pets know when they've done wrong when they can understand the situation. I think some dogs are more intune with their carers.

Thanks everyone. Her vet was extremely suprised at the size of the lump and yes it turned out to be an infected grass seed. $267 later they had removed a grass seed from the smaller lump on her hind leg that wasn't even a mm long. Argh! And they weren't able to find the larger front one so hopefully it has fallen out. I'm glad it's over and we know the cause but jjeeeeeez Belle, how did you manage to get one we didnt even find. This is the second time she has been to the vets for grass seeds, and after the first whenever we left the house for a walk we checked her all over for grass seeds. You're driving me nuts Bill. Lol

Hey everyone, I'm having her taken to the vet on monday but I would like to ask the DOL community what they think. Tinkerbelle is a "Australian Bulldog" (pretty much from what I know and can tell, she has Stafforshire Bullterrier, Bullmastiff and English Bulldog in her). Her first birthday is on the 24th of December and I am concerned about a lump that recently 'popped up' I mean that in a literal sense aswell, I only happened to notice it being there a few days ago, and being a shortcoated dog and the size of it, I'd say I would have noticed it as soon as it occured. I did some research on google, and I'm fairly sure that it's just a Lipoma or a fatty tumour but what I'm most concerned about it the fact she is not even a year old and they've already started occuring, I read that Lipoma's are rather common in older aged dogs. I've taken photos today, as she seemed to have hurt the lump and actually removed a large portion of skin. It hasn't caused her any discomfort at all, I honestly don't think she's even noticed. I am able to touch it and apply water to clean it and she doesn't bat an eyelid. There is now a much, much smaller one on her right hindleg which also hasn't caused any problems. here you can see it in proportion with her body, 'tis fairly easy to locate. and I had to add one of her spooning my laptop, lol.
