People Wonder Why I'm Scared Of Spiders...
Leithy replied to Leithy's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
All spiders can die in my book. I found a nasty black one in my room the other night <killed it before i had the chance to take a photo, I was like omg that looks poisonous> and another black one in the kitchen. I absolutely hate spiders. They have big pointy pincers and bite and about 2 months ago on a drunken toast making session on the floor of my bedroom (dnt ask lol) i found a big hairy huntsman on my curtain with its front legs hanging off in my direction in a very aggressive fashion... needless to say he DIED a painful death the next day. -
Mine seem a bit intimidated by larger dogs, but they have ony really played with little dogs their size. My OH used to have a german shephard cross and they loved her before she went to rainbow bridge, but mine are very loud when they see other dogs. :D

We think it was a wolf spider, it had a zillion babies on its back.... it found our way into my neighbour and old friend's pool, so baby spiders EVERYWHERE lol i found it after work and thought it was a pine cone with legs -
I've lived in this house the past 9 years, and this is what we have been so unlucky to find... :D HEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Where can I get them from? I'm in regional SA, are there any fast delivery services available?

Awww Winnie is so cute!!!

Yeh I called last week and asked them about it and they re-scheduled for January, which I am happy about, hopefully I got the day off (my rosters come out in monthly blocks, the joy of being a nurse) I've been keeping her inside as much as I can, and re inforced the fences and stuff so unless a dog is a fantastic high jump leaper they can't get in. But I dnt take that risk and bring them inside when I am home, mainly in the bathroom unfortunately - the girls are going insane! Thanks for all your advice, this is what I get for being organised haha...

Ah ok, thanks for that I will keep an eye out for it

They are normally pretty good, Meg's just turned one year old so I'm hoping they will be best mates. They have a pretty good routine, they go crazy without each other because they get too bored. Thanks for the advice, I hope they dont get nasty with each other!

Okies as long as I know it's normal ish... did not expect it all, Meg was desexed at nine months (dachshund) and never went on heat, so this is a bit weird haha. Now I just gotta ask the Vet if he can still desex her. Ta guys
-
R there any other symptoms with vaginitis?
-
I'm going to see the Vet as soon as I can. She's a tiny dachshund, so i'm a bit worried...
-
My puppy Gypsy went into heat today, well so I noticed the blood anyway I am worried because shes only just hit 21 weeks, is this normal? She's to be desexed on the 30th, is this still possible???
-
How this for a photo of a speedy dachshund? Almost didn't get her in there.... And then there Meg just for a laugh.... :D

SO this afternoon I got a bit bored and wanted some framed photos of my girls... here's the result, what do ya think?? and just for more randomness... me and my girl meg.
-
I took her to the vet and she said the same thing, it was probably the vaccination so she's fine and enjoying chewing on all the wrong things as per norm... But my other pup has a ear infection. Poor thing! Thanks for your wise words
-
thanks for that. was bugging me a bit because ive never had a pup with a lump before. thanks guys xox
-
yeh she has, but she never had a reaction before... i never thought of that, it's not painful either?
-
Hey I was wondering if anyone can help me out. My 17 week old dachshund standard x mini has a lump just above her right shoulder and I have no clue what it is. I am getting it checked out, but I was wondering if anyone knew what it could be other than an abcess? There is no scab, it doesn't seem painful to touch and there is no change in her behaviour or eating habits. Can dogs getty fatty tumour growths? Any info would be great thanks

Ten things you didn't know about Meg 1. Meg is the biggest sook ever. When I come home from work, its like I've been away for a year. It's a nice welcome back 2. She is the pickiest eater I have ever met and always has me guessing about food. It used to be only Woolworths food, but now it's reverted back to human food.... Constantly keeps me guessing! 3. She sheds ! When I was researching the breed, I do believe they said long haired dachshunds don't shed much.... I have red hair EVERYWHERE. 4. She thinks she's a cat. This dog loves cats, bounces up and gives them doggie kisses... and has sat on the top of the couch like a cat and barked at anything. 5. She's a mummy girl. When I first got Meg, she jumped into my lap and would not move. I knew then she was my girl 6. She had 6 brothers. The only girl in a bunch of boys, she's a little princess and I am under the impression she got spoilt when she was little 7. She likes carrots. Yesterday I found carrot everywhere in the living room... she had chewed it!! 8. Meg loves big walks. She loves going on walks, and will whine at the door when she hasn't gone for one in awhile. She loves being off the lead and is pretty well behaved for a 11 month dachshund. 9. As much as she will growl at her little sister, she loves her to pieces. When they are separated she whines and whines. Then goes and gives kisses and plays. Its so cute! 10. She has the weirdest noise to wake me up in the morning. It's like a yawn but a kind of miniature howl. It wakes me up and she knows it's time to go outside. Extra: Megs nickname is Megatron.... 10 things you didn't know about Gypsy 1. I got Gypsy from New South Wales. I live in South Australia, and it's almost impossible to buy a dachshund here. 2. Gypsy is the naughtiest rug rat I've ever had. Computer cord? Chewed. Quilt? Peed on. Cats? Play fights. Anything else? Chewed. But I still love her anyway. 3. My partner laughed at Gypsy in the airport. When we picked her up, Josh laughed and called her an ugly dog. She still has that nickname, but she grows more beautiful every day. He still can't see that. My brother calls her Resident Evil Dog. 4. Gypsy is a cross between a stand and a miniature dachshund. Therefore, I have no clue how big she will be. 5. Gypsy buries herself in my bed and I almost squash her every night. She is the master of sneakiness and will sneak in under my covers until i go to bed. 6. Gypsy was named after a previous dog that we had to put down. I loved the name, and I was devasted when we had to put our old foxy x jack russel to sleep due to back problems. Gypsy definately lives up to her name 7. Gypsy gets called Gyppie more than anything. The first thing I say when I get in the house to my girls is, "Megatron!!!! Gyppie!!!!" 8. This little dog will eat anything and everything. And had the cutest belly when I got her, but now she's lengthening out. 9. Will play with teddy bears twice her size. It's funny seeing this little dog throw about this huge teddy bear..... 10. Has to be in my lap in the car. She sat in my lap all the way home from Adelaide. Meg tried but was too big as I got her at seven months. Gypsy still fits but grows bigger every day!
