  1. Kim once a day only cause she is disgusted at doing it Elka and Oliver usually twice Bonny working dog, optimum wet puppy, raw mince and yoghurt with chicken wings and brisket bones twice a week, I find after the chicken wing day noone does one the next day, god I wish they would go back to eating eukanuba cause then it was only 3 small bits a day to clean up
  2. I am for 8 weeks as that is when they say impressions gather and stay anyway having other dogs I dont think they would take all kindly a 4 month puppy on their territory yet they like the smaller ones.
  3. Please accept our sympathies on the loss of Ricky Sorry no tips from me I still cry over my Riley 3 years later his urn is in my bedroom RIP sweet Ricky

  6. I have never had a dog wander so I must be a very clever astute owner  Get real mate any dog given the opportunity will go walkies, I have no dobt that mine would if they could get out but because I am a responsible dog owner I ensure that they can't get out. Males go hunting bitches in season
  7. :D Sheky you knew this would get our attention :p
  8. Or Oliver who has been self humping shame shame shame
  9. I buy any yoghurt Oliver has a real passion for strawberry, but I will add he loves the passionfruit greek yoghut expensive tastes my boy has.
  10. She was 74 years old and first started her animal career in Australia in a RSPCA refuge which she ran and reared 3 kids on her own, she also a long time ago bred Dobermanns .
  11. For those that may have known Jenny Brennan. She passed away at 11am this morning. Jenny was an authority on the workings of pounds local laws etc, she started up the first lot of animal control in the north west many years ago when there were no laws or even fences out this way. She is mentioned quite clearly in Dogs and CAts in the urban environment book and has written papers for conferences. Jenny was a tough old bird and went through tough times as well as the good. She retired from being a pound keeper/dog warden at 60 years of age and relocated to Rockhampton area. Rest in peace Jenny we will miss you.
  12. Sounds like Oliver to me (my GSD) after nearly 18 months of trial and error and every sort of dog food imaginable and a thin run out looking shepherd, we have come down to this Chicken wings raw Each day he eats 3 cups of Bonnie Working dog (the others give him the poops) 500 grams of paws cat mince from coles 1/2 can of Optimum Puppy 2 tablesspoons of strawberry or blueberry yoghurt This dog used to have a hard time eating and was awfully skinny and believe me I tried everything but have found something he likes so this is what he gets, now the girls dont want their eukanuba anymore so they get the same minus the yoghurt, he has actually put on weight and now looks like a normal male shepherd should, by the way the nutrigel did not work with him.
  13. same here into the hydrobath and gently stripped with a hack saw blade or lucky for me Oliver loves to be vacummed
  14. He just wants to sleep with his daddy  My lot have their own beds but Oliver always ends up on the bed, so I bought a bigger bed.
  15. smart puppy she is schemeing already how to be the centre of attention --sulking does it everytime
  16. Just ignore the posts you dont like and ask away.
  17. Ohhh some pics she must be gorgeous, I can see why you dont want to leave her outside. Hate to say this others will probably say I am wrong but in my humble opinion small dogs are so much harder to train than big dogs, my friends 7 yo long hair chihuahua doesnt care where she does it they have to watch her all the time inside even though she has been trained, sometimes too lazy to go out side and refuses to in the cold, my mum has a small terrier about 3 yo and it can be naughty as well, even though she is fully housetrained. best of luck with her keep it up and through peserverence you will make it and dont worry about hubby all men I know are like that :p
  18. Kazza what breed is your puppy.
  19. If you are not sure your fencing will hold her build a puppy escape proof pen, and put it around the back out of sight of any passer bys and padlock up the gates. Um not sure if you said what sort of puppy do you have
  20. If you are at work all day put the puppy in a safe place outside cause when they have to go they have to go. If your puppy came from a kennel envoirnment well it will be used to going on a hard floor and where it is confined. One of mine would run up from the back yard to pee and poo on the concrete. I always have a safe place outside when I am not at home and when at home keep a close eye on them. Puppies always do there business when waking up after drinking and eating, at night time my puppy always slept in the bed with me so when it moved I woke up and took it outside. I have never rubbed a dogs nose in their outgoings for I would not like mine rubbed in it.
  21. Has he only done it since the spot on, if so dont use it and see how he goes. best of luck Frang
  22. I would ring the vet asap. and parvo is quick
  23. Ring the vet or take her back she doesnt have parvo like symtoms I hope. Runny smelly poo and depressed is usually a sign
  24. Never thought of that I put one of those spot on heartwormer flea things on Oliver and he went really wierd and it looks like some sort of reaction to it, he was like that for a couple of weeks snapping at the girls and being generally different, so I just dont use any spot on products any more. Try seeing how he goes when it wears off with out putting any more on, or he may just be a spoilt boy and wanting to be bossy is he desexed at all.
